1136436 tn?1261826161 So when you start you should be doing 2X12 with light weight then gradually increase weight then go for 3X12 and when you feel comfortable you can go for mass building which is 2X6 or 7 with heavy weights. To know what is the appropriate weight you have to be barely able to lift the 6th or 7th repetition. If you have no problem doing all the 7 repetitions then it's time to add weight.

Diet: Breakfast: Vegitable salad+cereals or South indian idlis or Upma or Dosas and cup of tea without sugar. Lunch : Rice with vegitable curry and Sambar(Lentil boiled in tamarind juce and vegitables) +plain yoghurt Snacks at 4PM: light snacks or seasonal fruit and tea w/o sugar. Dinner : similar to Lunch at 7.

Polycystic ovary too causes weight gain, hence has to be ruled out by an ultrasound of abdomen. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. The only people in most developed countries who get too little protein are vegans sometimes if they don't eat well and advanced bodybuilders. Most Americans get too much protein. The simple way to gain weight is to add a meal. Pretty easy. Eat the same healthy foods you usually eat, just eat more.

Avatar n tn Due to the fact you are extremely underweight and you need to gain weight slowly, recommend a Heart Healthy diet which means a moderate fat diet to increase ‘good’ fats to benefit your body. Moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
