Avatar f tn i am losing the battle against calorie intake. I know you're not supposed to go over 2,200 calories per day..... but how? Every once in a while I go over and I'll feel super guilty. I do protein shakes, protein bars, healthy snacks and no meals and extra water. I don't regularly give in to cravings either. It is hard when all I can think about is my next snack. What do you do to stay under 2,200? Any recommendations to ease the pain of the calorie count?
Avatar m tn My BG levels had crept up to 150 and I had started eating these low carb high protein bars as snacks. Once I stopped eating those my BG levels came down to the 130's. I have since reduce protein amounts and I'm seeing fasting numbers in the 120 and under range. Any one else experience higher BG levels with too much protein?
Avatar m tn sometimes i take whole wheat peanut butter sandwich, or ham sandwich, almonds, apples, protein shake, oatmeal bars. or foods with high fiber. I take protein bars too but they can be expensive throughout time, so i made my own.

Female re causing you to gain weight. Look at the calories before you eat it next time. Most protein bars are meant for people who are already fit and are looking to gain muscle. For someone who is trying to lose weight and already is somewhat overweight, this will translate into fat. Try meal replacement bars instead. Those are often anywhere from 100 to 200 calories and are tastier and just as filling. Watch the sugar on anything, though.

Avatar f tn Yes a weight of 150 pounds for 5'11" would fall under BMI. Good going! Change the treadmill to elliptical after some days. In the treadmill you change the inclination and etc and try to keep yourself occupied and interested and do 45 mins to 60 mins of cardio to lose around 500 cals everyday in this weight losing spree. Eat healthy and continue your exercise in a normal way even after you achieve your desired weight and Best of luck! Take care.

Avatar f tn You can get protein fr a lot of different sources than just a protein shake. Beans, Greek yogurt, cheese, almond milk, etc. be careful w too many protein shakes bcuz of added unnecessary calories & too many protein shakes/bars can make you constipated.
Avatar f tn Some kind of meat and veggies for lunch and dinner. I snack on fruit or protein bars and sometimes have a protein shake. I pretty much eat what I want, but do try to make better choices like only drinking water, soy milk, lowfat cheese, whole grain bread...etc. Now, if I really want a burger or a slice of pizza, I will have it in moderation and just eat very healthy for the other meals during that day. I don't believe in the word "diet".

I've also used their vitamins and skin care, lift off tablets and powdered chicken soup. Overall, I still count calories, select lean meats, fresh/frozen fruits and vegetables, low-fat or non-fat dairy and whole grain breads/pastas.
520369 tn?1212971265 For your size, and I am not a doctor, I would consume less than 1500 calories per day in order to loose weight. 1 lbs of fat is equivelant to 3500 calories so you see how many calories you need to cut out per day and/or excess exercise you must do. Exercise is very important for a weight loss regiment, what is your fitness level now? You need to either up your activity level gradually, or start slowly, this is assuming you are not a trained athlete doing 4 hours of exercise a day..lol.

Besides genetic, loss of hair is either not enough protein or not enough calories to maintain your body. If that is not the case, then see your MD and get blood work done to see if there is a decrease of any other nutrients and be treated properly. If you are not eating properly due to the dieting then suggest you consume 1500 calories daily with protein sources (meat, dairy, egg).

Protein im not sure but better today i know with the lunch and im sure when i get protein bars that will really help! yeah thats what im thinking too that its just an adjustment and hopefully i get used to it soon!
