protein

Avatar f tn You don't say why you want to gain weight, or what kind of weight. Are you ill? Is there a reason you're underweight? If you just want to gain weight, remember that all weight gain formulas contain things that aren't healthy to eat, as do most protein supplements (but not all). The easiest way to gain weight is to skip the unhealthy supplements and just eat more of what you're already eating without increasing your exercise.
Avatar f tn Try adding protein and weight bearing exercises to your daily routine. Protein is used to build muscle. You gain stronger and bigger muscles by lifting weights.
Avatar f tn Anyone know what I can eat that will be both good for baby and make me gain weight? I have hypoglycemia so I can't just eat candy bars or chocolate. Baby isnt growing like she's supposed to so I want to gain as much weight as I can, as fast as I can just in case they have to induce...
11157192 tn?1430159059 Try protein bars they are healthy and have lots of protein that will help you gain weight..
Female re causing you to gain weight. Look at the calories before you eat it next time. Most protein bars are meant for people who are already fit and are looking to gain muscle. For someone who is trying to lose weight and already is somewhat overweight, this will translate into fat. Try meal replacement bars instead. Those are often anywhere from 100 to 200 calories and are tastier and just as filling. Watch the sugar on anything, though.
4744855 tn?1358656623 hi i went to my doctor appointment on Monday and my doctor told me that im underweight and that I need more protein can anybody give me ideas on how I can gain weight please let me know
Avatar f tn To gain weight you need to increase your protein intake. I suggest a high protein shake, such as body builders drink. Take it as a supplement not as a meal. This works to lose weight if one is too fat (as a meal replacement) and will cause weight gain for those that are too thin. Contrary to what some might think, weight bearing ie weight lifting, builds muscle mass and increases weight also. This does not mean you need to look like a male body builder, but it does help with weight gain.
Avatar n tn Protein shakes keep being recommended to everyone on here who wants to gain weight, but too much protein is a problem and we have no idea how much protein people are eating who write on here. The only people in most developed countries who get too little protein are vegans sometimes if they don't eat well and advanced bodybuilders. Most Americans get too much protein. The simple way to gain weight is to add a meal. Pretty easy. Eat the same healthy foods you usually eat, just eat more.
Avatar f tn Protein shakes and bars may be making you feel really deprived. That's not really food. Whatever your doc has recommended, can you go back to eating real actual food? Even if it's just a little bit, you may be better able to enjoy and savor your food (thus not associating food with guilt and deprivation) if it's things you like.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if protein bars and protein shakes are safe to eat/drink while pregnant?
Avatar n tn Well, thanks again for all your help on everything ive asked so far. Glad i have a resource where i can ask questions, and get help. Well, my honeymood period is ending, so i know im gonna have to start eating on time, and doign what is needed. My question, im a reallly picky eater, and being a diabteic dosnt help that out much.
Avatar n tn You'd actually be better off to eat regular, healthy meals, instead of doing all the constant snacking, which is probably what's keeping you from losing weight. By eating regular meals, you can better incorporate a mix of vegetables, protein, whole grains and healthy fats into your diet. Snacking, typically, ends up being fruit, candy bars, crackers, sandwiches, chips and all the things that aren't so good for you and tend to make you, either, gain or hold onto weight.
Avatar f tn Well I want to gain another 5 pounds and that's it but if I gain more it's okay..and if you worry you gonna gain to much weight just do your best to eat healthy..and just remembered all pregnancy is not the same we all have different type of body and just relax and let's enjoy the pregnancy so good luck to yall ladies..
Avatar m tn Only want to say, those foods are used successfully by bodybuilders, bu they aren't good for you. Now, bodybuilders will consume pretty much anything that gives them big muscles, but those shakes and potatoes and all that pasta will help you gain weight because of the high sugar metabolism, but if you aren't lifting weights to exhaustion they won't do anything but give you flab.
1269982 tn?1271173219 Also certain brands of protein shakes actually have a high level of carbohydrates in them which could result in your weight gain. I suggest you cut out the protein shakes for a fortnight and keep up the cardio and also try to get some time on a treadmill as they are very effective in losing weight.
Avatar f tn Pick healthy snacks with protein. I like meal bars, granola bars, fruit snacks, etc. I didn't gain hardly any weight with my third and I ate constantly. :) your eating because your body is telling you to eat.
Avatar f tn She stated that protein bars and special k protein shakes were totally fine! Just dont consume protein meant for body builders and people who work out a lot. Cliff bars, luna bars, special k brand stuff are all fine for us to eat. Ive also been really lucky too my cravings have mainly been for fruits and veggies which helps!
Avatar f tn Try protein shakes and granola bars. That's what I have when I don't have an appetite. I add fresh fruits to my shake though.
Avatar f tn Water! !!!
Avatar f tn I know many are not currently having this issue, but I am 6 weeks pregnant and hungry constantly. Does anyone have any food tips and healthy snacks that they can recommend to help hold me over longer? I'm overweight before pregnancy and am trying to be very cautious about eating too much.
Avatar f tn Exactly. Your doc will let you know if you need to worry. I eat lots of protein bars and add olive oil when Im cooking. Small things like that. Also if you buy this chocolate milk mix type stuff its called breakfest essentials.
Avatar f tn m up 5 lbs even though I go to the gym more and have reduced my food intake and eat extremely healthy, lots of veggies, lots of lean protein like tuna chicken salmon. Yogurt, nuts, power bars. No red meat and some fruit. If I gain 5 lbs every two months I'll be up 30 lbs by the end of my first year on copaxone. Am I eating wrong? Should I eat less protein and up my carbs? Please help! I work and want to stay in the same size I've been in. I am a female 55 if that helps.
5606554 tn?1372445380 I am trying to stay away from sugars but use honey. All the foods that I used to crave, but would make me gain weight, Icould eat now, if I could stomach it. I dont drink pops, instead I drink coconut water and juices, freshly juiced fruit if you have a juicer, and vegies too easier to digest, and lots of healthy vitamins.
Avatar f tn d suggest you learn some easy recipe and make your own meals from raw ingredients. You should use complete protein source(fish, meat, eggs). Add more cooking oil in the cooking process to get more calories. For dinner, it depends how hungry you are. If you're hungry then it's the same thing as for lunch. If you're not hungry, have a snack. Good one is can of baked beans and crisp bread with butter. I recommend you eat nuts or eggs and dairy products before bed.
Avatar m tn Generally speaking, for most people, doubling the recommended daily amount is a good baseline to follow if you have weight-loss or muscle-gain goals. The recommended daily amount of protein is 56 grams so try doubling it. Adding in resistance training might increase the body’s need for protein even beyond doubling the daily dose! Trying to gain muscle, by doubling the protein helps preserve precious lean mass.
