Avatar n tn Does anyone know if protein bars and protein shakes are safe to eat/drink while pregnant?
Avatar f tn i am losing the battle against calorie intake. I know you're not supposed to go over 2,200 calories per day..... but how? Every once in a while I go over and I'll feel super guilty. I do protein shakes, protein bars, healthy snacks and no meals and extra water. I don't regularly give in to cravings either. It is hard when all I can think about is my next snack. What do you do to stay under 2,200? Any recommendations to ease the pain of the calorie count?
Avatar f tn By protein bars I mean Balance or Power bars. A lot of times I will eat them for lunch as well. I have eaten them for all three meals, although that is not typical. At least one if not two meals is typical for me. I have a lot of digestive and health problems and I'm starting to wonder how bad this habit is on my health. Where are some good resources for me to read about this? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I drink whey protein and use it for cookies, I also eat protein bars.
Avatar m tn sometimes i take whole wheat peanut butter sandwich, or ham sandwich, almonds, apples, protein shake, oatmeal bars. or foods with high fiber. I take protein bars too but they can be expensive throughout time, so i made my own.

776302 tn?1241091853 In addition, I LOVE the protein bars and have found they are lower in calories, higher in protein and less expensive than most protein bars in department or health food stores. I've also used their vitamins and skin care, lift off tablets and powdered chicken soup. Overall, I still count calories, select lean meats, fresh/frozen fruits and vegetables, low-fat or non-fat dairy and whole grain breads/pastas.
269786 tn?1243793707 Clear out your cupboard and your fridge. Instead of wasting your money on junk, spend it on some protein bars (I like to get the chocolate ones because I get a chocolate fix once in a while) or some protein shakes. Buy healthier versions of the stuff you love and try new things! If it is not accessible, you can't have it. Indulging once in awhile, especially if you've been on the right track, is okay. But definitely in moderation.
Avatar f tn re in a hurry try a tablespoon of peanut butter true it has some fat and protein but it will work I also have pure protein bars or quest bars when I need a high-protein quick breakfast
Avatar f tn During long periods of time that I didn't eat. I had granola bars, fiber one bars, cereal bars, etc. Those are great camping snacks. Trail mix, nothing super salty cause you'll drink more water which could mean more potty breaks. Haha Just stay hydrated. And have fun.
Avatar f tn Good question!
Avatar m tn PowerBar protein bars, CLIF protein supplement bars, etc. I feel that consuming lactose definitely worsens my symptoms, but I seem to experience them intermittently regardless of my consumption of dairy products. Any advice on how to reduce these symptoms would be greatly appreciated, as they have begun to interfere pretty heavily with my social life, and are generally extremely unpleasant.
Avatar f tn Beans, lentils, legumes, eggs...you can do some protein bars and protein shakes if you think you're not getting enough protein, you should probably ask your OB about recommendations. I drink protein shakes sometimes since I'm not a natural meat-eater and I'm in the third trimester when the baby's protein needs are pretty high.

Avatar n tn I suggest the Luna protein bars, I love them and they are packed with extra vitamins and folic acid specifically formulated for women. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I've been feeling the same way! I'm 24 weeks and am constantly hungry. Some days I'm not as bad but other days I'm so hungry it feels like I hadn't eaten a meal all day. I'll try to eat healthy snacks and drink a class of water but there's times I'm still hungry.
Avatar n tn Is protien bars healthy for you ? It's flavor peanut butter and dark chocolate .
193609 tn?1292180293 Admittedly, I do prefer Herbalife protein bars over shakes. I do, however, have a container of the Herbalife protein powder and when I am on my running regimen I add it to one shake per day. I don't notice a change in the taste at all, it still tastes just like whichever flavor of shake I have added it to. Hope this helps Cheyenne. About half hour after a run is a great time to get in some protein.
Avatar f tn There is a difference in protein meal replacement shakes and ensure... You just have to read. Ensure will be best should try luna bars their for women and it has protein and vitamins. Target sells them.
