Avatar m tn sometimes i take whole wheat peanut butter sandwich, or ham sandwich, almonds, apples, protein shake, oatmeal bars. or foods with high fiber. I take protein bars too but they can be expensive throughout time, so i made my own.

Female re causing you to gain weight. Look at the calories before you eat it next time. Most protein bars are meant for people who are already fit and are looking to gain muscle. For someone who is trying to lose weight and already is somewhat overweight, this will translate into fat. Try meal replacement bars instead. Those are often anywhere from 100 to 200 calories and are tastier and just as filling. Watch the sugar on anything, though.
Avatar f tn i am losing the battle against calorie intake. I know you're not supposed to go over 2,200 calories per day..... but how? Every once in a while I go over and I'll feel super guilty. I do protein shakes, protein bars, healthy snacks and no meals and extra water. I don't regularly give in to cravings either. It is hard when all I can think about is my next snack. What do you do to stay under 2,200? Any recommendations to ease the pain of the calorie count?
Avatar n tn Varriety is trully the key. There are calories from 4 sources, carbohydrates, fat, protein, and alcohol. Fat, protein, and carbs all are important in moderation daily in order for your bpody to get what it needs. Fat has 9 calories, the others 4.

Avatar f tn You can get protein fr a lot of different sources than just a protein shake. Beans, Greek yogurt, cheese, almond milk, etc. be careful w too many protein shakes bcuz of added unnecessary calories & too many protein shakes/bars can make you constipated.

I've also used their vitamins and skin care, lift off tablets and powdered chicken soup. Overall, I still count calories, select lean meats, fresh/frozen fruits and vegetables, low-fat or non-fat dairy and whole grain breads/pastas.

But I would also suggest you snacks from the mesogeian diet (greek particulary) such as salad with tomato, cocumber, feta cheese, oregan olives and olive oil. Also, greek tacos which are basicly rusks with olive oil, sliced tomato oregan and feta cheese on the top WHICH is part of the Cretian dieting.

Protein im not sure but better today i know with the lunch and im sure when i get protein bars that will really help! yeah thats what im thinking too that its just an adjustment and hopefully i get used to it soon!

I also suggest buying Whey protein Concentrate NOT Isolate!! Avoid those with added sugars and preservatives. Add high calorie ingredients to your protein shakes to boost the calorie content.
Avatar f tn The eating plan us calked LCHF, which is low fat, moderate protein and high fat. And there are no gimmicks, pills, powders, bars, etc...just real food. Best part is that no calorie counting, eat until full. Also, it canceled my cravings and I no longer snack anymore. I also need to remind myself to eat, as I'm not hungry anymore (I used to be ravenous all day long). Basic meal is VEGETABLE + PROTEIN (meat, fish, eggs) + FAT. Example is egg omelette with bacon and asparagus.

So, in making the recipe, I made it according to the package instructions although I exchanged 1 TSP butter for 1 TSP olive oil. Then I added up the calories of all the ingredients. It made six pancakes and I wanted to eat 3, so I divided the total number in half. For 339 calories, I had 3 pumpkin wheat pancakes and 1/2 c of sugar free syrup ... yummm!!!

1269982 tn?1271173219 a good shake is the pure protei, it has no carbs...be careful with the protrin bars, they are fullllll of calories...sodas, only the diet ones.and be careful with calories...make a list of everything you like and tak note of th ecalories...you will be really 'scary'of how many caloeries we eat a day...another thing that help is having a salad before yiou eat,it helps to make you full.be carefull with the dresings, they have a lot of calories.

Eat every 2-3 hours such as your 3 meals a day and 2-3 snacks...this will make your metabolism go crazy. On the weekend, have that piece of pizza or spaghetti that you love but don't eat 3 pieces or large amounts. Eat your fruit and vegetables because that is what fuels your body with vitamins and do not give up carbs...
Avatar f tn Some kind of meat and veggies for lunch and dinner. I snack on fruit or protein bars and sometimes have a protein shake. I pretty much eat what I want, but do try to make better choices like only drinking water, soy milk, lowfat cheese, whole grain bread...etc. Now, if I really want a burger or a slice of pizza, I will have it in moderation and just eat very healthy for the other meals during that day. I don't believe in the word "diet".
