Avatar n tn I take propranolol for Tremors from taking Gabapentin. I wanted to know if propranolol has withdrawal symptoms because I am weening off all meds to see if my new symptoms were caused by all the meds. I want to add meds as needed for Fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn How long does withdrawal from beta blockers usually last? I don't have any money to refill my propranolol prescription and haven't had it in 4 months. I was taking it for arrhythmias and high BP (160mg XR propranolol with 180mg XR diltiazam daily) and when I ran out 4 months ago I just kept taking the Dilt. hoping the symptoms were just withdrawals and that they would go away... Symptoms are what you would think, I'm just curious if to someone with similar conditions (i.
Avatar f tn HTN, chest pain ect.
687729 tn?1397992727 I have been taking Klonopin and Propranolol for years, being treated for a benign tremor and migraines. I'm tired of feeling dopey all the time and I have quit the Klonopin and cut my Propranolol dosage in half. I've been getting leg cramps and headaches (not full-blown migraines, but nagging headaches that make me want to go back on the Klonopin). Can I expect these symptoms to disappear?
Avatar f tn HTN, chest pain ect.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if Propranolol would help me with the withdrawal symptoms to I can make it through work days. I just want this feeling to go away, I am currently taking some Gabapentin that I had from years ago, but it is not enough to take all WD symptoms away. I am embarrassed to ask my doctor for help during this time. I don't know what to do, I am feeling lost and want this to end!
Avatar f tn Why on earth were you on a beta-blocker (Heart medicine, Propranolol) for a sore throat? Someone made a mistake.. I would seek help Immediately. Though 2 weeks of propranolol wouldn't hurt you I would say you could probably have Incurred a bad side effect from the Propranolol.
Avatar n tn Your system can become passive to Paxil within one year. Withdrawals are brutal and some withdrawal symptoms can be permanent, like brain zaps. I do not recommend remaining on Paxil. Only take propranolol with other psych meds if you have high diastolic BP or too fast a heart beat. Propranolol is very mildly effective for anxiety. I take Klonopin only at the onset of a panic attack. I let it disolve under my tongue. The combination of the three should not be routinely taken.
Avatar f tn I was taking Depakote, Lithium, and Propranolol. I have been off my meds for almost 3 months because I lost my insurance. I want to stop smoking. Since I am struggling with my moods due to lack of meds, I am very concerned about how the nicotine withdrawals if I were to quit cold turkey. Any suggestions? From my research I have found that Chantix is definitely not an option for me.
4155003 tn?1351614311 I feel like complete garbage 7 days after going cold turkey. Withdrawal symptoms began on day 3 and have become progressively worse (extreme nausea, headaches, dizziness, spaced out, unsteady, memory loss, blurred vision!) -- still unsure if it's the Prop or Meth but after taking a 20mg Propranolol today I instantly feel better. Do NOT come cold turkey off this medication!! This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever gone through.
Avatar f tn 5 mg xanax but my dr decided to try propranolol 40mg instead because i started to have high blood pressue. i read these two meds arent safe together. has or does anyone take them together?
Avatar n tn Propanolol isn't addictive. It's a beta blocker, prescribed for hypertension, and heart related symptoms (ie palpitations), and it's often used on an as needed basis for people with stage fright, or fear of giving public demonstrations, etc. It can be effective for anxiety, and is frequently prescribed for anxiety. How did your doc instruct you to take it? Daily? Or as needed? One of the biggest concerns is a drop in blood pressure.
Avatar n tn Many have experienced undesired withdrawal symptoms, after using psych meds, some experience for a short time, while others experience prolonged symptoms indefinetly. Your husband should not have cold turkey Effexor, but should have been weaned off by prescribing doctor. Prolonged symptoms can occur, from abrupt discontinuation from psych meds. Brain zaps is a common withdrawal symptom. I tapered off Klonopin, and have had prolonged tinnitus for nealy 1.5 years.
Avatar f tn controlling high blood pressure, relieving angina symptoms, and treating atrial fibrillation. Propranolol may also be used off-label to relieve alcohol withdrawal symptoms, treat hyperthyroidism, and slow down the progression of aortic dilation in children with Marfan syndrome. IF this medication is right for the person you are inquiring about cannot be answered here. This is a question that can only be answered correctly by the patient's physician.
Avatar n tn t know how much the ups and downs of the xanax contributed to that. How long does one need to stay on propranolol- until the symptoms subside? She wanted to switch me to the klonipin before increasing the propranolol further because it is causing terrible insomnia- which i already struggle terribly with. Is klonipin easier to taper off of in the end? I seem to be doing fine with the switch from xanax to klonipin- no withdrawals yet or anything.
Avatar f tn Also, most anti depressants are OK during the first trimesters of pregnancy and even in the third, but there is a risk of withdrawal symptoms to the baby in the third trimester. I am on cymbalta which also helps for anxiety, but I use it for pain. Anyways, this should have helped answer your question. And as always, you and your OBGYN must decide the benefits and risks of being on medications and which will be better for your stability during the pregnancy.
704329 tn?1518523098 I too was on Paxil and this has a good reputation for causing brain zaps either from missing a dose or two, tappering off or when a dose is lowered... it is basically withdrawl symptoms you have experienced. Maybe you experienced these brain zaps when you forgot to take your tablet or took it alot later in the day than you normally do.
Avatar n tn These are usually intention tremors and other causes which need ruling out is alcohol withdrawal, hyperthyroidism, and etc. Treatment would include medicines like propranolol, which blocks adrenaline related neurotransmitters, and primidone which is an antiseizure drug. Consult your neurologist for the indication of therapy and the relevant treatment should be given if indicated. Take care.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.
Avatar f tn It is absolutely impossible for you to be experiencing withdrawal symptoms after taking less than 1mg of clonazepam. You are indeed worrying for nothing and exaggerating whatever you're feeling. AND I can pretty much guarantee it's from reading the symptom sites on the Net. You really must stop doing that. The difficulty you're having falling asleep could be due to holiday stress or some other stressor(s) in your life at the moment.
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar f tn I started propranolol about six months ago. These symptoms started about two months ago and are getting worse.
Avatar m tn Hi 1molwol2...although your dose may not have been that high you were definately on it for a long period of time so thats why u did/are feeling those withdrawal symptoms. It's great that you got yourself down to less than half of what you were taking! Switching to morphine sulphate wont change anything as far as the dependency/addiction and withdrawal symptoms go. Morphine is a hardcore drug so I'd be really concerned about starting down that road.
4155003 tn?1351614311 ive bin on propranolol for about 12weeks & weaned myself down to 10ml every other day, i took 10ml propranolol 52hours ago & not going to take another one as im ready to stop. when will it be fully out my system?
Avatar n tn Also, if you notice any changes in your blood pressure, pulse or other symptoms related to enhanced action of Propranolol, you can always adjust the dose to achieve the best possible outcome (again, with your psychiatrist's review). I hope that helps with the first part of your question. Sertraline can be taken any time of the day provided you take it the same time each day. Similarly, you can take Clonazepam at fixed time of the day.
Avatar n tn Apart from effects associated with anti depressant use, your symptoms are also suggestive of multiple sclerosis. These multiple neurological symptoms could be due to a chronic demyelinating condition called multiple sclerosis where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions. It has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion.
