Avatar m tn 5 to 1. mg at night with 2 to 5 beers. The feeling I got from the Xanax triggered my active addiction all over again. I want to stop but want to make sure I do what's best. My last Xanax was Wednesday around 7:00pm. I didn't sleep well at all last night and can deal with that if that's all. I also cut out the few beers(2 to 5) a night. When I started taking the Xanax it triggered my active addiction all over again and I haven't been able to stop until yesterday.
Avatar f tn 00 PM along with 0.25 mg xanax (my presentation started at 2:00 PM). THE PRESENTATION WENT PERFECT - no trembling voice and no shaky hands whatsoever - I can't believe these meds worked - these are miracle meds!!! However, I would like to mention that the 0.25 mg xanax was not enough to take the ALL the anxiety feelings away - I still felt a little anxiety 5 minutes before my turn came up - however, without the anxiety symptoms. Next time, I would try one and half tablets of 0.
Avatar n tn I switched to the klonipin on friday and already I feel better than with the xanax- I feel much more even throughout the day. Also- I am taking Propranolol, 60 mg- started it 3 weeks ago, and no change yet- however, I don't know how much the ups and downs of the xanax contributed to that. How long does one need to stay on propranolol- until the symptoms subside?
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed both propranolol (beta-blocker) and xanax andI have to agree with barfer except on one thing: propranolol does not help with the anxiety itself (the anxious thinking and negative thoughts) - it will only help with the physical symptoms of anxiety. To confirm this, you can google propranolol and find for yourself.
Avatar n tn If you are not taking the propranolol daily you could always try the xanax alone prior to the presentation and see how it affects you, but if you are taking the propranolol daily I think it would be best to space the medication and take them separately. As with any meds you could always contact your physicians office and speak with the nurse and determine what would be the best option for you. Good luck on your presentation and try to remain as a calm as possible!
Avatar f tn Like I will be sitting or at rest and get up and it will just race. Usually I chew on a Xanax or Propranolol and that gets it under control somewhat but it's still scary. Last week it happened I was sitting on the couch and I got up and my heart went from like 80bm to probably around 150bpm in a few seconds. I took a half Xanax and Propranolol and it helped a bit but ever since I've been having these unpredictable symptoms. My question is, is this something new?
Avatar m tn are you saying im likly to get a seziure off 1 mg? even with propanorol? i take the green round xanax i do think they are extended relese because i was taking blue ones that act faster and are 2 mgs but i stoped those a week ago. more info please and thankyou!
Avatar n tn The doctor game me Propranolol and Xanax. Yes, the first time it happened was when I smoked it, but since then it's happened even though I haven't been smoking. I even tried a different strain, before I quit, that was meant to help with anxiety and relaxation.
Avatar f tn also was given 10 pills of ativan 0.5 since i finished with xanax and am kinda scared that xanax is a little more addicting than ativan. and, want me to take propranolol along with this. my question is, has anyone taken this propranolol (20mg once a day) for anxiety problems? and does anyone think increasing the paxil will help at all for me?
Avatar m tn She gave me a clean bill of health as long as I promised to comply with Propranolol 40mg taken at bedtime, Pradaxa 75mg twice daily, and she increased my Xanax, but insisted that I keep it a PRN "as needed drug". She explained the benefits of Propranolol for anxiety and panic disorder and indeed warned me never to take the two drugs together, i.e. don't take your propranolol and Xanax before bed. My ultimate question is this really necessary?
Avatar n tn m trying to fix my problem but i want to know if the combination of coke and propranolol is dangerous. Please provide me with an answer. All I could get off the net was that one should avoid cocaine while taking propranolol . Is combining propranolol (beta-blocker) with cocaine dangerous and why?
994817 tn?1249738278 yes the meds can help with the palpitations. i take propranolol for migraines....i don't have heart or blood pressure problems but something in it's action prevents migraines. the added bonus is that it also works to get rid of those annoying palpitations that go along with anxiety. and what's even more interesting is that i heard it can even help prevent anxiety/depression....though i don't think it's usually prescribed for that. anyway...
Avatar f tn I was first prescribed propranolol 20 mg after I had an episode with my wife in the shower that left me with a debilitating migraine that lasted about two weeks. This was about 7 years ago. Should I consider try another BD med like Tenormin? 3 years after that I had nuclear stress test that turned out fine.
10610562 tn?1411418414 So, I am a 29 year old male. 5'7" 130lbs. I was put on propranolol to reduce the heart rate, as well to possible help with my anxiety and panic. This medication worked really well for me. It helped ease my mind, enough to where I felt more comfortable leaving the house and being productive. It completely got rid of my embarrassingly shaky hands. I was so happy. Then, I noticed my asthma was being severely effected.
Avatar f tn Was originally diagnosed with stress induced anxiety in March and was sent to see a shrink. went in to Dr last month complaining of hot flashes and he ordered blood work to see if I was in menopause. Guess what? I have hyperthyroidism. ( was ecstatic at first that I'm not crazy after all) . Am currently on 5mg of methimazole 3 times a day. Causes itching, hives, and welts. Unbearable! Endo put me on propranolol 10mg twice a day.
Avatar f tn Prior to being pregnant I would take 5-10mg of Propranolol a few times a month for performance anxiety. I have withheld using it so far but it has really hindered me at work. I have a big presentation I need to give this week in front of 150 people and fear getting on stage without taking it. However, I am also nervous about any potential harm to my baby. Can you clarify if it is safe to use propranolol (5mg) infrequently during the remainder of my pregnancy??? thank you very much!!
Avatar f tn Not long after, on new years day, my father suffered a stroke* (albeit a minor one). This, in conjunction with the separation, was quite hard on me. At this time my sister began living at my mother's, as I remained with my father. We would frequently have conversations about my mother, me, my sister, and real estate issues, some of which developed into arguments (don't take this the wrong way; I have a positive relationship with my father).
Avatar f tn I had my first migraine when I was 12 and they became chronic and literally everyday after two car accidents. (Rear end and head on). I am soon going to b getting my nerves on my c3-6 burned to help with the headaches and neck pain. I'm only 23 yrs old. I had to quit my career (cosmetologist) I loved it and right before my migrianes randomly became daily I had an offer to become a redken color artist and do hair in big time hair shows up on stage with many famous hairstylist.
Avatar f tn Hello!. Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with propranolol therapy are similar to other lipophilic beta blockersBeta blockers, including propranolol, have an additive effect with other drugs which decrease blood pressure, or which decrease cardiac contractility or conductivity. So the short story is that"yes"it probably is the beta blocker. But saying that see how you get on with them,it will take at least one- two weeks to really settle down.
Avatar m tn t work for me--fish oil, magnesium, potassium, exercise, CoX10, Vitamin D, Vitamin B complex, Propranolol, Xanax. The magnesium, potassium, CoX10, & vitamins are all great to take, & I feel healthier, especially now that I exercise 4 days a week for 30 minutes, but none of them lessened my skipped beats. Fish oil actually made me skip more beats on average, & there are studies & articles like this from Harvard linking Omega 3 to a host of other problems (http://www.health.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar n tn This is what I found on the web for propranolol: ------------------------------------------- Propranolol falls into the broad pharmacologic category known as beta blockers. Beta blockers block specific sites in the central nervous system known as beta-adrenergic receptor sites. When these sites are blocked, heart rate and blood pressure are reduced and patients become less anxious. Because of this, propranolol is useful in treating chest pain, high blood pressure, and excessive nervousness.
Avatar n tn Am on 60mg of Propranolol and Lexapro (for the anxiety) with occasional Xanax thrown in for good measure. My concern...everyone else who has these seem to describe them as flips, skips, flops, bloops, etc. Mine feel like a muscle squeeze in the center of my chest. Just one quick squeeze...someetimes soft, sometimes will stop me dead in my tracks checking my pulse to make sure I'm still alive. Does anyone else describe their symptoms the way I do?
Avatar m tn An injectable form of Nardil should remove the dietary restrictions since MAO enzymes in the guy and small intestine would be preserved, however drug interactions would remain. I understand nardil is a last resort, but I feel that is where I am. I have no tried tricyclics but I have tried benzodiazepines such as xanax and klonopin as well as beta blockers such as propranolol.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else with avoidance and anxiety had luck with Lexapro? I can take the Xanax but it only helps so much. Thanks.
