Avatar f tn Hello Dear, Most people with essential tremor don't need treatment beyond reassurance that the condition isn't a sign of a more serious disease. Lifestyle changes — which include getting plenty of rest and avoiding stressful situations and stimulants such as caffeine — may help ease the tremors. Most people with essential tremor find that fatigue, anxiety, sleep deprivation and even temperature extremes make their tremors worse.
Avatar m tn As far as I can tell it is trial and error to see if you can find what is causing yours. It's great that you have done the usual testing to rule out underlying issues. The good news is that there are a lot of us. :-) Have you tried other things besides Mg and K? Be careful with potassium as it's possible to have too much. Have you tried no caffeine, alcohol, etc. to rule out other triggers? Beta blockers?
Avatar n tn m trying to fix my problem but i want to know if the combination of coke and propranolol is dangerous. Please provide me with an answer. All I could get off the net was that one should avoid cocaine while taking propranolol . Is combining propranolol (beta-blocker) with cocaine dangerous and why?
Avatar n tn Five months ago I experienced paroxismal supraventricular tachycardia. After a big meal and two drinks of alcohol, in the evening i took famotidine, which, as I read it, it could cause an irregular heartbeat. Over night, I felt arrhythmia, I panicked and my heart start pounding. After infusion of amiodarone, the heart returned to sinus rhythm. I didn't have any other symptoms. Diagnose - PSVT or MAT. (This is not afib?
10610562 tn?1411418414 So, I am a 29 year old male. 5'7" 130lbs. I was put on propranolol to reduce the heart rate, as well to possible help with my anxiety and panic. This medication worked really well for me. It helped ease my mind, enough to where I felt more comfortable leaving the house and being productive. It completely got rid of my embarrassingly shaky hands. I was so happy. Then, I noticed my asthma was being severely effected.
Avatar n tn While alcohol is known to improve BET, excessive alcohol consumption is recommended against since alcohol is addictive and harmful if not used moderately. I recommend continued follow-up with your doctor. it is important for you to discuss all your questions and concerns with him/her and find a treatment regiment that you are comfortable with and that is effective.

Avatar f tn Hello!. Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with propranolol therapy are similar to other lipophilic beta blockersBeta blockers, including propranolol, have an additive effect with other drugs which decrease blood pressure, or which decrease cardiac contractility or conductivity. So the short story is that"yes"it probably is the beta blocker. But saying that see how you get on with them,it will take at least one- two weeks to really settle down.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
1828749 tn?1317778518 t be too hard to differ atrial tachycardia from sinus tachycardia with a Holter monitor or a couple of hours of monitoring with EKG. Sometimes the atrial tachycardia origin close to the sinus node and may be more difficult for the doctor to see, but sinus tachycardia will usually follow a certain pattern (slow down with sleep, etc) something atrial tachycardias rarely do. Again: Ask your doctor about this but do NOT change medications without asking him!!
Avatar m tn These are usually intention tremors and other causes which need ruling out is alcohol withdrawal, hyperthyroidism, and etc. Treatment would include medicines like propranolol, which blocks adrenaline related neurotransmitters, and primidone which is an antiseizure drug. Consult your neurologist for the indication of therapy and the relevant treatment should be given if indicated. Take care.
Avatar m tn Has this always happened when you take this medication? Have you changed your diet? I know when I was drinking a lot of soda or carbonated beverages(especially if I took the meds with it), I could taste anything that was put into my stomach recently.
Avatar n tn Therefore, it can be treated with observation, medications for prophylaxis (which ends up being life-long), or with a special procedure called an electrophysiology study with radiofrequency ablation. If you are not comfortable with the care that she is receiving, it would be important to consider a second opinion, especially one from a pediatric electrophysiologist, a pediatric cardiologist who specializes in electrical problems with the heart.
Avatar m tn So me and my friend went to ibiza for 3 weeks, we were drinking lots of alcohol (usually jäger bombs with big amounts of energy drink). My muscle were tingling I couldnt move my hands, I was hearing some kind of voices which really scared me. I found out that I had a panic attack for the first time.

Avatar f tn She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.
Avatar f tn 5mg olanzapine and 5 mg propranolol. Still having PVCs and it scared me. Been going on one month. Today he said to up my propranolol to 10mg morning and 10mg night. My heart rate on Holter Monitor was one low of 48 bpm and mostly around 62 to 72 during activities. Question: How slow a heart rate is ok before I should worry? I live alone. Fear is a big thing tonight. I get a PVC every 4 to 6 regular beats sometimes I go 12 to 15 normal beats before a PVC. So hard to fall asleep!
Avatar f tn I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan there isn't a medication that has propranolol in it there is a script of propranolol by itself it's not mixed with any medication
Avatar f tn The Inderal (Propranolol) seemed to relax me and help with the PVCs.
