Why on earth were you on a beta-blocker (Heart medicine, Propranolol) for a sore throat? Someone made a mistake.. I would seek help Immediately. Though 2 weeks of propranolol wouldn't hurt you I would say you could probably have Incurred a bad side effect from the Propranolol.

I also was on propranolol for a while with no side effects. I don't agree with banglamom in saying the best cure is to stop taking your medicine. Some medicines can have side effects at first that wear off after you've been on them for a month or so.

I have akathisia from Abilify but it works for me most of the time so I didn't want to go off it. My pdoc added propranolol, a beta blocker, 60mg a day, that stopped the akathisia almost completely. Propranolol is actually mainly for high blood pressure but has "side effects" that takes care of akathisia and anxiety. The only problem I have from it is orthostatic hypotension (dizziness upon standing) but all I have to do is stop and lean over for a few seconds and it passes.

Hi, I have suffered with migraines for many years & was placed on prophylactic meds-Cymbalta & Propranolol. About 3 months ago I developed Trigeminal Neuritis on my R side. I have to say it was the most painful affliction I ever experienced, even worse than the 2 spinal fusions I underwent! I was prescribed 20mg Propranolol awhile back but my psychiatrist lowered the dose to 15mg. They gave it to be because my heart rate never seem to settle below 100 and was around 120 a lot of the time. I expect the ventolin would give you some physiological response, not sure if they, or the side-effects, are being misinterpreted as manic symptoms. You will know your body best though.
