Avatar m tn My son has had on-again-off-again problems with nausea (no vomiting, though) for a few years. His episodes came every 6 - 8 weeks and lasted 7 - 10 days. He was diagnosed with abdominal migraine and put on propranolol (taken daily to prevent migraine), and it worked very well. We weaned him off the propranolol after a year or so, and a year after that the nausea came back. Now he's been nauseous for 8 weeks straight and has missed a month of school.
Avatar n tn Sertraline and other Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) inhibit a certain enzyme which usually metabolizes Propranolol. Due to this inhibition, Propranolol action may be enhanced. But it will not be appropriate to look at this isolated piece of information and ignore other evidences. We do have a lot of trials and reviews exploring the combination. There is no conclusive evidence which allows us to deem this combination unacceptable.
Avatar m tn My daughter has been usffering from a persistent nausea for over 2 years. She has a morning sickness type nausea that is constant and nothing makes it better or worse. She has had multiple tests that indicate that her GI system is functioning properly....she does not have Celiac's or lactose intolerance. All of her blood tests are negative. She has been on dozens of nausea meds including high power cancer meds for nausea...all with no effect.
Avatar f tn When I had my last surgery (I had shunt surgeries and four head for Chiari) as I healed the only thing that would not go away was the nausea. They did all kinds of gastro crap to me and the only thing it was for me was expensive and invasive. There was nothing wrong that had to do with gastro. The nausea was only better when I was sleeping but as fast as I woke up it went crazy again and I could not even get back to sleep.

Avatar n tn The doctor game me Propranolol and Xanax. Yes, the first time it happened was when I smoked it, but since then it's happened even though I haven't been smoking. I even tried a different strain, before I quit, that was meant to help with anxiety and relaxation.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
4155003 tn?1351614311 ive bin on propranolol for about 12weeks & weaned myself down to 10ml every other day, i took 10ml propranolol 52hours ago & not going to take another one as im ready to stop. when will it be fully out my system?
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.
Avatar f tn I am 47 and have suffered from migraines and headaches for about 6 years. The only thing that helped was Topamax. I used it about 6 years ago for about 2-3 months. Unfortunately, it made me extremely nauseous and my hair started to fall out. I am so desperate for relief that I asked my doctor to try it again, but at a lower dosage. The first day I took 25 mg and felt Like I had "morning sickness" all day. I am supposed to gradually increase to 200 mg by the end of the month.
Avatar m tn Propranolol is not on the list of contraindicated drugs for Harvoni. Here is the list: http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/ledipasvir-sofosbuvir,harvoni-index.
Avatar m tn Today out of the blue I became extremely dizzy, faint, with extreme anxiety for about 20 minutes which was immediately followed by pressure on the left side of my head and extreme fatigue and nausea. Was this a migraine attack? I trusted my neuro but after the bad experience with the Topomax I became discouraged. As well, if anyone has any advice on a good preventative med with few side effects or some abortives I would greatly appreciate it.
Avatar f tn I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan there isn't a medication that has propranolol in it there is a script of propranolol by itself it's not mixed with any medication
Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed an increase in propranolol for migraines and anxiety.I was taking 120mg in the morning(extended release) and my doctor has raised the dose to 160mg. I had been taking the propranolol in the morning, but have read that the best time to take it is in the nighttime. Does anyone know what would be the best time morning or nighttime? Thank you.
7205189 tn?1447794738 m in the process of getting an official diagnosis. Besides headaches and other symptoms, one of my biggest problems is nausea! I had the stomach bug back in January and it seems that ever since I have been extremely nauseous 80% of the time. I've been tested for GI pathology and food sensitivities and nothing seems to correlate. Been thinking of possibilities with sugar or salt/electrolyte problems?
Avatar n tn As soon as they were finished with the ablation, before they rolled me out of the cath lab, I started getting a migraine (blurry vision, followed by headache from hell, nausea, vomiting). Before my heart ablation I would get a migraine 3-4 times a year. I have been getting them since i was a teenager (I am now 34). Since the surgery, I have gotten 1-2 migraine headaches EVERY DAY (I'm on day 5 since my surgery). Sometime I get one in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping.
Avatar m tn i am 28 years of age,i had a problem of trembling my fingers of both hand, specialy when i write it was more difficult, then i consulted a neurologist so he checked me and prescribed me propranolol 20 ml to take 3times a day but i was affraid to take 3times but i took that only once a day as i was asked by someone if i continue that much i will have to use it forever.when i take that i feel much better.
Avatar f tn All your symptoms like heart pounding, legs shaking, ears ringing, pain in your left arm, nausea in the morning could be side effects of one of the drugs you are currently taking. I have a guide book to drugs and supplements . I live in Canada. The book is called " The Canadian Guide to Drug and Supplements. " published by the Canadian Pharmacists Association and Reader's Digest. You mentioned you are taking "propronlol" .
Avatar f tn If any one can help answer my question, I would be so grateful. I have been hospitalized in the ER three times in the past two weeks for bradycardia. All this suddenly started happening in the last two weeks. I start to feel weak, have a seizure, this last time, I fell down on the kitchen floor and hit my head pretty good. I am a 28 yr old female who has been on propranol for almost 4 years. I have a at home blood pressure monitor, that also checks my pulse and I do it religiously.
1243620 tn?1274790697 Does anyone take propranolol for anxiety and panic attacks? I've had crippling anxiety for my whole life. Antidepressants increase it to the point where I'm in such a state I almost pass out from hypervenitlating. I've heard propranolol is good for this, and is effective.
4155003 tn?1351614311 im taking propranolol and have been for 7weeks, ive been told to cut my 40mg tablets in half and have half a day to slowly come off them, but when is it fully out my system???
Avatar f tn ve had anxiety for about 4 months now, and the panic attacks are becoming less frequent. My doctor prescribed propranolol which I can take 3 times daily, but only need every now and again. For the last month or so, my head has become 'fuzzy' and I constantly have vision problems...like I can't focus properly and i can't see 'right'. I get headaches every week or so, and have done since i was about 11 (im now 20).
