1504778 tn?1321394645 Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. You could always look at the label to see what it says, or check the manufacturer's website - not sure what the maker is of your script it should show on your bottle.
Avatar m tn s been nauseous for 8 weeks straight and has missed a month of school. Propranolol is not supposed to stop a migraine in progress, just prevent them; we tried putting him back on during this episode but his pulse dropped too low. He was on cyproheptadine, then we switched him to amitriptyline. We see the neurologist again on Friday and plan to push for a lower dose of propranolol. Good luck! It's awful to have your kid so sick and not know what is going on.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
4155003 tn?1351614311 ive bin on propranolol for about 12weeks & weaned myself down to 10ml every other day, i took 10ml propranolol 52hours ago & not going to take another one as im ready to stop. when will it be fully out my system?
Avatar f tn What are you hoping to accomplish with this switch? To be honest, I don't think Metoprolol is going to work any better on the PVC's. Trust your physician's instructions. By the way, 25mg (I assume once a day) is a low dose, and I'd consider this a "starting out" dose. I don't know how that compares to the level of Propranolol you were taking.
Avatar f tn 4 days ago pcp changed my beta blocker from propranolol 40mg twice daily to metprolol er 25mg daily d/t low pulse in 40s- 50s. Been on propranolol for 22yrs for PVCS. She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.
Avatar f tn Yes 10mg which he said was the lowest dose. I do have an anxiety disorder for which I already take some low dose meds nightly and don't wish to add more meds on top. The propranolol seems like a good idea if it will target isolated anxiety producing events that trigger this ED or other panic type symptoms. I'm sorta hopeful that propranolol itself will help me push past this occasional sex performance anxiety. Still want to run it by my GP though.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed an increase in propranolol for migraines and anxiety.I was taking 120mg in the morning(extended release) and my doctor has raised the dose to 160mg. I had been taking the propranolol in the morning, but have read that the best time to take it is in the nighttime. Does anyone know what would be the best time morning or nighttime? Thank you.
Avatar m tn I am on Tecfidera 240 mg dose. It just occurred to me I missed the morning dose. I have a call into the specialty pharmacy for direction. I didn't find much on the web except "take it as soon as you remember and if close to your next dose take it then but don't double up". This is the first time I missed since starting therapy last month. I feel terrible. Is this incredibly bad?
427555 tn?1267553158 If someone missed synthroid for 4 days, is it ok to take all the missed doses together? A friend went away and forgot their synthroid medication at home.
Avatar f tn Do I still take the ribavirin pills since I missed the dose? After 4 weeks I was tested and no virus was showing so I am worried that this is going to be a set back. I am anemic as well. Just need to know what to do??? Hep clinic closed for weekend as is doc office and pharmacist had no clue. Anyone been through this?
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm glad that the Lopressor (metoprolol) work great for you!!! Can I know why you take it? What I understand is that beta blocker have usually mild side-effects when they are give to people with high blood pressure... BUT in my case, my blood pressure is lower to normal only and rarely in the high range (only when i'm in a middle of a panic attack or in a situation where I feel trap).
Avatar f tn I’ve been taking propranolol 10 mg (increased it from 5 to 10 2 weeks ago) for just under a month. I take this twice a day for PVCs. With my evening dose I take olanzapine 2.5mg. In the past few days I get to feeling quite strange, dizzy and tingling in my hands and bottoms of my feet. I find that exercise, bicycling, helps.
Avatar f tn ) However you may have been in a good place with your 180 mg dose due to the effect of the Propranolol - it slows the conversion of T4 to T3, so lowers your Ft3, and it also slows the elimination of RT3, so raises RT3. Lower FT3 and higher RT3 may have kept you from feeling on the hyper side with your high-ish dose of NP. Now that you have stopped using the Propranolol, you are getting the full effect of the 180 mg NP Thyroid, that is high FT3. And you may be having hyperthyroid symptoms.
778037 tn?1377986200 The efficacy of propranolol in the treatment of a migraine attack that has started has not been established, and propranolol is not indicated for such use. The initial dose is 80 mg Inderal daily in divided doses. The usual effective dose range is 160 mg to 240 mg per day. The dosage may be increased gradually to achieve optimum migraine prophylaxis. If a satisfactory response is not obtained within four to six weeks after reaching the maximum dose, Inderal therapy should be discontinued.

Avatar m tn I recently was having palpitations and have been given propranolol. I know that it is usually not to be used if you have asthma, However, i also read that many athmatics can use it. I used it a long time ago when i was a teenager, before i developed asthma and it was great. Also read from some websites that it can be quite dangerous. Not sure if i should take it or not. Any advice.
Avatar f tn Thank u I did try it but it made my blood pressure low so my doc started me on propranolol 10mg 2x daily have u ever heard of that I use to take 40mg of propranolol for having fast heart rate I took it for ten yrs and on july 1, 2013 I got the gastric bypass surgery and I took myself off the propranolol cuz my heart rate stayed low and I was scared to take it because it lowers ur heart rate more after all that's why they prescribed the propranolol in the first place ten yrs ago but it wasn&#
Avatar f tn But keep in mind, propranolol is a fairly short-acting beta blocker, at 80 mg you will likely have an effective dose similar to peak level when taking one 20 mg pill. Do not adjust the dose without asking your doctor! This is very important. Beta blockers can have very unwanted side effects if the dose is too high. I used to take 10 mg when needed.
Avatar f tn My doctor put me on propranolol/beta blockers on 16/04/2014 which was last month. Sometimes I was missing them and only taking 1-2 day. What I was wondering is people that have been or are stressed or been on propranolol have they had problems with their period? I got my period on 2 may this month and it was very light like a red/brownish and only lasted 2 days approximately and my periods normally last up to 5-6 days and are quite heavy.
Avatar m tn A good way to do this is to take one dose when you get up, one dose at bed time, and the second dose sometime in the middle.
Avatar n tn However I was unable to cope with the number of these, and have been taking a small dose of atenolol daily since (12.5mg, one tablet cut in half). I'm now 6 weeks pregnant, and tried to stop taking them but couldn't. When I did, I was horribly anxious and couldn't cope. I also experienced sleeplessness, tachycardia and the sensation of feeling my hearbeat all the time. I was in constant tears and couldn't work or do anything at all.
Avatar f tn Well....trying the metoprolol today. Halft (25) in AM and other half around dinner.
