propranolol lethal dose

Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.

ive bin on propranolol for about 12weeks & weaned myself down to 10ml every other day, i took 10ml propranolol 52hours ago & not going to take another one as im ready to stop. when will it be fully out my system?

What are you hoping to accomplish with this switch? To be honest, I don't think Metoprolol is going to work any better on the PVC's. Trust your physician's instructions. By the way, 25mg (I assume once a day) is a low dose, and I'd consider this a "starting out" dose. I don't know how that compares to the level of Propranolol you were taking.

4 days ago pcp changed my beta blocker from propranolol 40mg twice daily to metprolol er 25mg daily d/t low pulse in 40s- 50s. Been on propranolol for 22yrs for PVCS. She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.

Yes 10mg which he said was the lowest dose. I do have an anxiety disorder for which I already take some low dose meds nightly and don't wish to add more meds on top. The propranolol seems like a good idea if it will target isolated anxiety producing events that trigger this ED or other panic type symptoms. I'm sorta hopeful that propranolol itself will help me push past this occasional sex performance anxiety. Still want to run it by my GP though.

Hello. So I have afib. And I was prescribed propranolol and Cartia. Lately I’ve been extremely dizzy. The doctor told me to go off Cartia and to increase propanalol. That was just yesterday. I feel better but still a bit dizzy. How long before the dizziness will stop?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. You could always look at the label to see what it says, or check the manufacturer's website - not sure what the maker is of your script it should show on your bottle.

I have been prescribed an increase in propranolol for migraines and anxiety.I was taking 120mg in the morning(extended release) and my doctor has raised the dose to 160mg. I had been taking the propranolol in the morning, but have read that the best time to take it is in the nighttime. Does anyone know what would be the best time morning or nighttime? Thank you.

What I understand is that beta blocker have usually mild side-effects when they are give to people with high blood pressure... BUT in my case, my blood pressure is lower to normal only and rarely in the high range (only when i'm in a middle of a panic attack or in a situation where I feel trap).

I like to know as much as I can about my meds. I know the lethal dose of lithium is about 5gs or 5000mgs which is about 5 times what I am prescribed. I also have looked up the symptoms of lithium toxicity (not fun). But I can't seem to fine anywhere how long after a lethal amount or a small overdose (such as 1 accidental extra dose) on top of toxicity symptoms would start to show or when death would take place. So my question is when would symptoms begin to show and when would death occur.

But keep in mind, propranolol is a fairly short-acting beta blocker, at 80 mg you will likely have an effective dose similar to peak level when taking one 20 mg pill. Do not adjust the dose without asking your doctor! This is very important. Beta blockers can have very unwanted side effects if the dose is too high. I used to take 10 mg when needed.
