Avatar f tn When did you start taking Propranolol 20 mg? Side effects of propranolol include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, depression, memory loss, fever, lightheadedness, slow heart rate, low blood pressure, cold extremities, sore throat, and shortness of breath( ref: http://www.medicinenet.com/propranolol/page2.htm). It is possible that your symptoms are related to the medication you are taking.
Avatar f tn I take 80 mg of Lisinopril per day (which results in a nasty, constant dry cough), 60 mg of propranolol per day, 250 mg of Lyrica per day, 50 units of injected Lantus, and 90 to 120 units of Humalog per day. I also take Xanax and Vicoden as needed. My blood pressure is still NOT well controlled. You're not doing so bad... yet. But I agree with Marbles... Get a hobby to take your mind off your troubles, or adopt a cat from a shelter and spoil it rotten.

Avatar m tn My heart rate remains a little high and i want to take propranolol in a very small dose like 8 mg a day in divoded doses. I am scared that my bp would lower and cause probs. Can i take it???
Avatar n tn No significant changes were observed in any of the values in patients taking either diltiazem hydrochloride (180 mg/day) or beta-blockers (15 mg of pindolol or 60 mg of propranolol daily). The decrease in HDL-cholesterol levels and increase in triglyceride levels reported in 1978 to be associated with use of propranolol, and with the concomitant use of hydrochlorothiazide and propranolol, was not found.
Avatar f tn I am on 10 mg Hydrocortisone and 120 mg propranolol daily.
11570509 tn?1422387166 You are taking two very potent inhibitors of noradrenaline reuptake (Ami + Cymbalta) which will make the amount of noradrenaline in your body increase. 15 mg of Propranolol is close to nothing. For beta blockers to have a true effect on heart rate, you would need much higher dose. 15 mg can help a bit on palpitations, but it will probably not reduce the heart rate so much. In my case, my heart rate during stress and anxiety drops about 10 bpm per 100 mg of Metoprolol I take daily.
Avatar f tn If you take one 60 mg dose every 12 hours, you are getting on average 60 mg/12 hour = 5 mg of morphine per hour. If you taking 120 mg over a 12 hour period, you are getting on average 120 mg/12 hour = 10 mg of morphine per hour. Take 25% of those morphine mg per hour numbers above and that will yield the bioavailability of morphine (i.e.,how much of the dose in the pill is actually active towards relieving your pain).
793815 tn?1285491456 I had catheter ablation on june 19 2013 it has been almost 6 months and now my heart rate is 155 my ep told me I need to go back on 80 mg propranolol which is why I had the ablation so I wouldn't have to take beta blockers no more....this makes no sense....
Avatar f tn Not sure how to edit my question above but I also take Metroprolol 25 mg ER (split in half twice a day) and Propranolol 50 mg at night. The Propranolol was added about 8 weeks ago when I was complaining of the high heart rate at night plus higher blood pressure.
Avatar f tn 5mg olanzapine and 5 mg propranolol. Still having PVCs and it scared me. Been going on one month. Today he said to up my propranolol to 10mg morning and 10mg night. My heart rate on Holter Monitor was one low of 48 bpm and mostly around 62 to 72 during activities. Question: How slow a heart rate is ok before I should worry? I live alone. Fear is a big thing tonight. I get a PVC every 4 to 6 regular beats sometimes I go 12 to 15 normal beats before a PVC. So hard to fall asleep!
1124887 tn?1313754891 Hello, I believe I suffer from white coat hypertension. Earlier (until a year ago), when I didn't care about my blood pressure, I always had excellent results when my doctor measured it (115-120/60-70). After I started worrying about my heart (not so much anymore, I usually try my best to help people on the heart rhythm community) my BP readings are higher. I feel my muscles get tense and my heart starts pounding when the cuff inflates, and blood pressure is 140-155/80-95.
225237 tn?1333138999 I recently started on metformin Er 500 mg at dinner. I have only taken it for for days.....I've been experiencing nausea, indigestion, frequent bowel movements. Has anyone else experienced this?? I'm so afraid of getting lactic acidosis!!!! The symptoms sound similar so how do you know which it is??!! Any help an advice would be appreciated!
1124887 tn?1313754891 I'm taking 25 mg metoprolol and occationally 10-20 mg of propranolol because of anxiety, sinus tachycardia and PACs. I've got a stress test done, lots of EKG's (one of them uploaded on my profile), Holter, echo x 2, troponine after having a rapid heart rate, and a lot of other blood tests. Everything is completely normal except for the rare PACs and some sinus tachycardia.
687614 tn?1244197979 who is currently my cardio until the new guy and said he THOUGHT starting 120 mg of Verapamil in place of the 50 mg or Toprol would straighten things out...no explanations of why he thought this way...So do I listen to a guy who put down my PCP doctor so much?, or to my current PCP doctor who hates and doesn't trust this cardio? I don't trust either now and I am afraid. PLEASE, OH PLEASE what would the rest of you do (crying :-( ).
Avatar f tn The cardiologist at a private medical centre was not able to help much to control the rate, and he was prescribed Herbesser 200mg (diltiazem), Propranolol 20mg (10mg x 2), Lasix, Slow K (potassium supplement), warfarin 2mg and rosuvastatin 10mg (for cholesterol). But his condition persists. He gets breathless easily. We have heard of ways to cure Afib, one of which is ablation, and have contacted the National Heart Institute.
Avatar m tn I'm a longtime 40-yr-old lurker with a decade having noticeable skipped beats, recently with runs of bigeminy and trigeminy lasting up to an hour after a particularly bad virus struck. Over the years I've worn 6 Holter monitors, had upwards of 40 ECGs, 3 stress tests, 3 echocardiograms, and an MRI of my heart.
