Which is better for follow up for hyperthyroidism? Is it TSH or FT4. I have Graves’ disease for over 10 years and am currently on carbimazole 5 mg and Propranalol 5 mg once a day. Recent reports show TSH < 0.01 and FT4 as 21.1 ( normal range 9-21).
I have been diagonalized with Hyperthyroidism since the 24th of May. I am a 51 year old female. I have been on Methimazole for three weeks (5MG for first week, 10MG, the second week, and 15MG for another week). My blood work result is as followed: TSH <0.005, T4 2.15, Glucose 137, Bilirubin 1.9, and Thyroid Stim Immunoglobulin 3.42.
I suspected that this started in late 2020 when I start losing weight. I lost a total of 25lb, and I am currently weighing at 125lb and I am 5’5.
I have been trying to do some reading on it so i will be able to understand more. He is currently on tapazole and propranolol. Since beginning the tapazole, he has been having major mood swings. He realizes that he is having them but doesnt seem to try and control it, or maybe he cant control it. I am at a loss of what to do. I dont know what to say to him because i dont know what type of mood he will be in. He can have several ups and downs within one day.
I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan
Normal body weight 115 (30 yr F) but gained 12 pounds in 3 days after start of propranolol. Continued to gain an additional 13 in the next 2 weeks. Began methimazole one-and-a-half weeks after propranolol. I normally eat 1900 calories per day w/moderate activity. Could I have gained 25 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks on that sort of caloric intake? Or is it the medication? DR said I had some fluid retention but made no further comment about the weight gain.
Hi, everyone! So last week I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism after being shaking, anxious and loosing a lot of weight the month before. My blood tests confirmed hyperthyroidism and I also found in the ultrasound that I have one cyst on each side of my thyroid (2 total). I am currently on propranolol (40 mg twice a day) as well as aspirin and amoxicillin (just incase I have a small infection going on). The first day I took the medication I felt amazing, like a brand new person.

I have been doing brisk walking for last one month. I started slowly, but now I walk briskly on plain surface, slopes and stairs. I walk approx 2 miles everyday for 45 minutes.
I have been still advised to be on Carbimazole 20 mg.
i have been put on beta blockers propranolol 40 mg three times a day for benign ventricular ectopic beats and anxiety. im just not sure what times i should take them. how many hours do i need to wait to take another.
What is the proper propranolol dosage in order to prevent the symptoms associated with anxiety-provoking situations?

I have had shaking hands and legs, rapid heartbeat, trouble swallowing, sweating, anxiety, depression, mood changes and shorten periods now for years and thought it was just me. I am a 25 year old female and have had sub clinical hyperthyroidism, with varying TSH levels for the last year and a half. I was first diagnosed when I was in an intensive work environment and I had a panic attack (the first and only in my life). The next day I went to the doctor and I had a fever, I was hypertensive (150/95), and my heart was over 100 bpm at rest. 4 days ago pcp changed my beta blocker from propranolol 40mg twice daily to metprolol er 25mg daily d/t low pulse in 40s- 50s. Been on propranolol for 22yrs for PVCS. She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.

i am 28 years of age,i had a problem of trembling my fingers of both hand,specialy when i write it was more difficult,then i consulted a neurologist so he checked me and prescribed me propranolol 20 ml to take 3times a day but i was affraid to take 3times but i took that only once a day as i was asked by someone if i continue that much i will have to use it forever.when i take that i feel much better.
Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
i was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and the dr.s told me that that was my magor reason why i coudnt get pregnant,now they just gave propanolol 20mg i want to know if this medication helps my thyroid hormones in its level it sopost to be and if it can help me get pregnant?

Am also on 15mg of propranolol to help, but it’s not controlling the flutter. Scared to switch to metoprolol (25mg).
Questions:
Will the flutter resolve once my pituitary gland reaches a normal level?
Should I switch beta blockers from Propranolol to Metoprolol?
How long will it take for my TSH levels to reach a normal level if I slowly decrease or stop medication?
