If you are not taking the propranolol daily you could always try the xanax alone prior to the presentation and see how it affects you, but if you are taking the propranolol daily I think it would be best to space the medication and take them separately. I have taken the two of them together with no problems. I now take Propanolol and Citolopram and still no problems. Propanolol is used to treat anxiety, high BP, cluster headaches, tremors, aids in sleeping, and maybe more. It has a short life which means it doesn't stay in your system very long, probably much like the Xanax. But they're safe together.

My doctor prescribed both propranolol (beta-blocker) and xanax andI have to agree with barfer except on one thing: propranolol does not help with the anxiety itself (the anxious thinking and negative thoughts) - it will only help with the physical symptoms of anxiety. also was given 10 pills of ativan 0.5 since i finished with xanax and am kinda scared that xanax is a little more addicting than ativan. and, want me to take propranolol along with this. my question is, has anyone taken this propranolol (20mg once a day) for anxiety problems? and does anyone think increasing the paxil will help at all for me?
Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
I was put on Zoloft at first and then switched a few years ago to 40mg of Paxil along with 25mg of Xanax daily. I still feel anxiety and depression, however, and am afraid these drugs no longer work or that I have become immune to their effects. I was just diagnosed with an autoammune disease and don't want to take plaquenil just yet. Doctor said to take celebrex and a muscle relaxer. I have been taking 1 mg of xanax for 3 weeks and before that it was about twice a week as needed. I was having such anxiety and sleep issues rhemy said to take it every day. Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer.
He said that the best treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy, but he prescribed me some medication to get me through this semester. He prescribed 10 mg propranolol (inderal) 3 times a day and an extra 10 mg inderal 1 hour before the presentation + 0.25 mg Xanax 1 hour before the presentation.
He assured me that the presentation will go well. But I am really scared I might get a panic attack again when I am giving the presentation.
Alll I know is i feel such a roller coaster throughout the day with the xanax coming in and out of me- including at 2 am in the morning when I need to get up and take another .5 xanax because the akathisia is still bad. I was wondering your thoughts on this. By the way- I am only 107 pounds- so to me I think I am taking a lot of xanax.

Like I will be sitting or at rest and get up and it will just race. Usually I chew on a Xanax or Propranolol and that gets it under control somewhat but it's still scary.
Last week it happened I was sitting on the couch and I got up and my heart went from like 80bm to probably around 150bpm in a few seconds. I took a half Xanax and Propranolol and it helped a bit but ever since I've been having these unpredictable symptoms.
My question is, is this something new?

There are no known interactions between fluconazole and propranolol, so you can safely take them together.

I refuse to take ssri or anti depresents i have taken the all my life. are you saying im likly to get a seziure off 1 mg? even with propanorol? i take the green round xanax i do think they are extended relese because i was taking blue ones that act faster and are 2 mgs but i stoped those a week ago. more info please and thankyou!
I recently started seeing a new General Practitioner who came very highly recommended by family and friends. I love her, she's a hippie who went to medical school. As a rule her staff said it would be in my best interest to begin with a physical, to which I agreed. Full labs, CBC, EKG, EEG (unusual for a GP), and blood pressure, etc. She was quite alarmed by my blood pressure, and she detected AFib. I proceeded to inform her that the AFIb is news to me.
i have cut back to 2 mg of xanax a day and by next week i can cut down to 1 xanax and the next week be off.........per my dr he is a pshy.A friend told me she thinks thats to much benzos...........so now im scared. I have to get off the xanax.I am pretty drowsy..but my dr said that should pass once my body adjusts.........

I have been clean for over 3 years, but had a panic attack on October 6th and got scared. I took a Xanax from a family member and that began a 3 to 4 week binge taking a daily dose of .5 to 1. mg at night with 2 to 5 beers. i have this strong feeling hes going to put me on another benzo like klonpin witch i took them for 12 yrs prior to the xanax...the methadone and xanax been on both of for 5 yrs the same time was put on the methadone with know problems..i take 40 mgs of methadone and avg 3 mgs of xanax aday..this controls the anxietys and panic is the worst..have had it since 1989..i dont get it much.. but when im maina nothing stops that including the xanax....
