propranolol and sleeping pills

f 56, past 39 years i am taking sleeping pills, now my pdoc has added propranolol 10 mg. i also take olanzipine and fluoxetine combo. i have hypothyroidism and am overweight. my family doesn't talk to me and i have no friends my niece has threatened to finish me. i am very scared. i heard that propranolol causes memory loss. if so how wil i cope with creeping old age.

i have been taking pills on and off for some 38 years but last 13 years i have been taking anti psychotics with sleeping pills regularly. now i developed twitch in my left eyelid. Also Since august 2012 i have taking half of clonazapam .5mg and 20mg propranolol. is this the beginning of dyskenisia or akathesia. i am 55 years, overweight with hypothyroidism. is there any cure?

His physician gave him Cyclobenzaprine and Ambien to help with sleep but nothing seems to improve his sleeping. His quality of life is poor needless to say and it affects our family as a whole. I am consulting another neurologist next week to see if there is something we are missing or any treatments that might help his situation. Any thoughts???

I am 22 years old and I've been having these weird heart beats or fluttering it happens every other day or sometimes once a week. I also suffer from migraine and I've been taking inderal 10mg pills for 3 months now and I haven't been sleeping well. for the past 6 months I go to bed at 4 am in the morning so I'm not sure if these heartbeats are caused by the pills or lack of sleep.

Try to take up a sports or outdoor activity and join a social group for mood elevation. Eat a well-balanced and healthy diet at regular intervals with regular exercise.

m now considering slowly moving towards a vegan diet and not taking the Propranolol anymore. It makes me very tired and unproductive and I have a hard semester coming up that I need to do well in. Even though it's a small amount, I'm sensitive to everything it seems. I've got Ativan to take as needed and I'm going to incorporate yoga as well. I'm like most people around here that just want to take as few medications as needed, despite my mention of diet pills.

Hi Dr Raj thanks a lot for your kindness by answering my quetion,wich helps me to continue my dosage without any fear.i would like to ask if i take propranolol only when i need and just avoid it when i don't need,is that ok?or stopping suddenly will course posible heart attack or anyother symptoms.be kind enough to answer me again.

No medications helped at all, not even sleeping pills. Besides I think taking pills to sleep is a really bad road to head down. I tried all sorts of crap I would try positions, certain positions did make it worse, on my left side was bad. I would try to lay belly down, this made it worse. Then one time I was so frustrated I just stayed in that position and eventually they went away. This worked on several nights. Maalox extra strength! I read this from some other posters once.

Why do you want to discontinue your medication. Regularly meds should be weaned down.

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last august and have been on propranolol and methimazole since. I was taking four methimazole and now my specialist increased it to 5 and that really makes me sad. I'm gaining weight and feel so awful about myself. Yes i am feeling better which is worth alot but my hot flashes are insane. My pituitary gland is what the specialist refers to as "sleeping" and so I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to how to wake it up.

I am having that and wondering if it is this pills doing it to me....does anybody no if they do that to u?

I haven't taken sleeping pills but I have taken 2 tylenols and bedtime chamomile tea on nights where I'm in really bad pain and can't sleep. My doctor said that was ok. I take the tylenols first and wait 20 to take the tea :) it helps me.

my mom takes the same dose and has for years and she can still fall asleep with the one pill. i am taking upwards of 30 mg. at night and want to go down to 10 mg. see my mom gets a little loopy and i have to put her to bed because she can barely keep her eyes open and she mumbles things, which i've read are all normal.but for me this doesn't happen. i don't know what i need to do to achieve these results with only 10 mg. of ambien.

Since long I am taking sleeping pills, xynex 1 mg and Ambien 5 mg. Now i had to add antihistamine Livicitrezine for itching problem. This drug has central action. As i had to go twice or thrice to bath room, my sleep is always distrurbed. I am not having prostate or bladder problem. I am having disturbed sleep and in addition i dream deeply. Many a time it takes a while to know whether it is a dream or it is a reality.

Unison and benadryl are both good for sleeping... They are both very safe and actually both used in pregnancy to help reduce morning sickness as well.

Anyone else dealing with an addiction to sleeping pills? The doctors have put me on any and every kind of sleeping pill....the only thing that worked was ambien xr but now thats not even working so I am taking a store bought sleeping pill, ambien and clonazapam all at once...I mix it up each night but I am taking way more than I should or that is prescribed. I can't sleep well without them tho but I can't really sleep with them either since they don't work well anymore....

I've been going through a really rough time and I feel myself falling into depression. I cant sleep and its not due to the pregnancy. I'm use to always sleeping with someone and I dont get to sleep with them anymore. Do u think a dr would prescribe me something? I'm so tired!

ok so the past few weeks ive been having extreme anxiety, tingling in fingers, arm pain, back and chest pain on and off (pressure, sharp pains, anything you can think of i've felt it), panic attacks. saw a cardiologist on tuesday, said i had a normal echo. last year and nothing would drastically change within a year, and normal ekgs and holter monitor recently. he also prescribed me propranolol , which i'm terrified to take because it drops BP and your heart rate.
