I discussed my occasional ED with my psych doc and we both feel it's anxiety related. He recommended propranolol 10mg just before sex. It's a beta-blocker mostly used to lower blood pressure but sometimes used for performance anxiety situations like stage fright, exam taking, job interviews etc. He's used it with other patients experiencing ED.
I also do take the beta-blocker pindolol which has kept my BP at 125/70 for years.
Propranolol is best known for its benefit in performance anxiety. If your anxiety disorder does not include performance anxiety as a major component, you may consider weaning off Propranolol, after consulting with your psychiatrist. Sertraline is expected to take care of the anxiety as well as the depression.
After doing some research on the internet, I understand that propranolol will only relieve the anxiety symptoms (trembling voice and shaky hands) but will not relieve the anxiety itself - I understand that xanax will give some relief to the anxiety itself - so that's probably why my doctor prescribed both medicines.

This medication can be prescribed PRN or as needed for anxiety situations. For anxiety situations like performance anxiety or social anxiety, the dose is usually 10 to 80mg. So, you don't sound to be taking more than you should and if it is prescribed prn, there will be times that you don't take it which is expected. Does it help you?
Prior to being pregnant I would take 5-10mg of Propranolol a few times a month for performance anxiety. I have withheld using it so far but it has really hindered me at work. I have a big presentation I need to give this week in front of 150 people and fear getting on stage without taking it. However, I am also nervous about any potential harm to my baby. Can you clarify if it is safe to use propranolol (5mg) infrequently during the remainder of my pregnancy??? thank you very much!!
I have a history of migraines for about twenty years. I quit smoking 7 months ago, and started propranolol 20 mg once a day. I gained 30 pounds. My whole body is sore and Im having episodes where my upper body and sometimes legs just feel so heavy and tired I feel like Im going to pass out. Had a Head CT, Head and Neck CTA, CBC, EKG all were normal. Is it related to migraine? ER doctor said it is anxiety. Oh I stopped celexa five months ago because I was extremely fatigued.
The propranolol will help with the shakes and also anxiety, but if the anxiety is more pronounced and/or with panic attacks then my guess would be that the doctor would prescribe clonazepam with it. This is something to discuss with your doctor and it might mean a trip to the neurologist to confirm what sounds like essential tremor which, by the way, is more of an annoyance than a serious problem.

I am 18 and suffer from performance anxiety, i cant maintain an erection when im with my girlfriend. We've tried many times it just doesnt work cause im nervious. is there any cure or way to maintain an erection for sure? would a penile pump work?
I can relate to your performance anxiety myself. I think it is more about the feeling of being judged and the thoughts of those in the audience then it is about your capability.
I would not try anyones medicine with or without a performance. Performance is more about your self esteem and belief in your talents then any medicine you can put in your body.
Capability and Self Esteem are also 2 different animals when dealing with anxiety.
I have been suffering from some pretty bad performance anxiety. I am dating a girl that I really love and when we first attempted sex, I had a problem getting it up. Hi, i am a 19 year old girl and weigh approx 8 and a half stone, I am taking a dose of propranolol 10mg twice a day for anxiety, I don't do cocain that often but I was wondering if there is any possibility it can harm me or kill me in any way if the two were mixed?
I also take the Propranolol twice a day for my heart. The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.

Please note that propranolol is a beta blocker and, in addition to quelling anxiety, will lower blood pressure. Generally speaking this medication is not given if the systolic blood pressure falls below 100.
Within the last few months I have had a sudden on set of pretty bad stress and anxiety, most likely related to school and my work load. The first time I had a panic attack I had just finished smoking (medical marijuana) and was preparing for bed. Before I knew it there was this very loud ringing in my ears, so loud I couldn't hear over it. My heart was pounding incredibly hard. I was feeling cold even when I put a sweatshirt on. My chest was tight and I had uncontrollable shaking.
