Of course all blood work came back ok and I didnt have a heart attack but they said that when I just casually walk my heart rate is to high so they put me on Propranolol. I had a bad bout with Amytriptaline 3 years ago and Ive never taken any meds but 1 since out of fear of dying. Since I have been on the med things are much better but its like my heart is fighting the meds to skip. I just feel uncomfortable and still out of breath when I walk.

I tried to replace propranolol with nebivolol but it caused me extreme palpitations and even panic attacks in stressful social situations. As for atenolol, although it didn't cause me severe side effects, it did not work in the same extent as propranolol. In addition it raised my blood pressure. I've tried herbs like ashwagandha, rhodiola, gotu kola to help me cope with social anxiety and had positive results.I behaved with confidence and started to become a talkative person.
OK, PLEASE i am asking you to NOT STOP taking the Paxil cold turkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will go into withdrawal and may suffer greatly. If you think that your having a hard time now then just wait until your brain starts to crave the Paxil and then you'll know what is is like to suffer. Many people on this web-site have done the same thing that you are posing to do and have screamed out to anyone to hear and help them.

I am a healthy active person with essential tremors for which i am taking a low dose Propranolol/Inderal 60mg/d. My doctor didnt really mention anything about exercise while using it. Is long distance running ok while taking this medicine?(10-30min runs) i know its also used for blood pressure and things so i want to be 100% i am not risking any damage to my heart or anything like that.
We are waiting for the bloodtests to come back, but in the meantime he told me to take propranolol 20mg 3 or 4 times a day. I started taking it several days ago, and my heart still races like crazy and I have heart pain. I dont know how to make it through another night like this. Can someone please advise me on some way to ease the symptoms so I can sleep ? (at least the pounding and racing heart). Should I increase dosage? Thank you!

Hi, thats what I think also, the beta blocker still work but only on the blood pressure and no the heart rate. Also 10mg of propranolol is a low dose and should not lower too much the blood pressure. Normally when I take my first dose of 10mg as soon as im awake, 1 hour later I can feel the lowering blood pressure effect and my blood pressure decrease from 130/80 to 110/60...In the past the heart rate was lowered from 100 sit to 60-65...
for 2 years i have had constant dizziness which is worse on head movement, and balance problems, back and neck pain and my left leg is sleepy. and hand weakness and pins n needles in hands .problems with my ears have been ruled out..my MRI findings are, syrinx on c6/c7 cervical spine.
I was prescribed Topamax and then Nortriptyline and then Propranolol and Cyproheptadine and had a terrible reaction to all medications even at half of the lowest dosage. For the entire summer I was bedridden and took a medical leave from college for the Fall 2014 semester. I have had a ton of blood work done and an MRI in May of 2013-both showing up clean. I have been to multiple ENT, headache specialists, diagnostic centers, chiropractors, and neurologists and no one has been able to help.
I tried to tell him the dizziness came and went and wasn't always there. Oddly, in February the symptoms seemed to fade slightly. For almost 4 months I felt like it was finally over. However, recently they have returned. The eye pain is not like it was, however I do get blurred vision. But this is mostly on a morning or a night, so I don't know if It's just tiredness and strain and I'm being paranoid. The feelings I get in my head are like someone is dragging me down, backwards.
I've been taking 5mg of Propranolol (Inderal) and 15mg of Paxil for a month and they always gave me a little dizziness and weakness, but it started to get much worse. So i stopped taking them. Its been a week now and i'm still feeling the dizziness and weakness. How long does these meds stay in your system? I'm starting to worry that its something else. I didnt know if this was the right forum for this, i didnt see a medication forum.

Im a 26 year old female and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and RA as well. Last night i went to the ER with severe weakness, dizziness panic attacks. After drawing my blood they diagnosed me with hyperthyroidism... My thyroid has been tested so many times and always came back normal. My dr called me today and wants me in immediately to get treatment started. The levels she gave me over the phone are: TSH3 -0.09 t4- 5.50 What does this mean??

If you are not taking the propranolol daily you could always try the xanax alone prior to the presentation and see how it affects you, but if you are taking the propranolol daily I think it would be best to space the medication and take them separately. As with any meds you could always contact your physicians office and speak with the nurse and determine what would be the best option for you. Good luck on your presentation and try to remain as a calm as possible!

I feel like I have been treated for all these individual symptoms and no doctor has tried to put it all together into one diagnosis. I am on propranolol and imitrex for migraines, and metformin and birth control for PCOS. Do my labs indicate a diagnosis of Hashimoto's AND/OR Hyperparathyroidism? Is it common for both to occur together? Would you recommend starting synthroid for Hashimoto's?

Hello, There are many side effects of propranolol chief ones being, trouble sleeping, fatigue, low energy, depression, chronic heart failure, bronchospasm, dizziness, erectile dysfunction, vomiting and abdominal pain. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
kept doing what I was doing, even kept walking and exercising, until the chest pain started, I than got severe dizziness and lightheadedness, I went out to my car towards the end of this whole ordeal, and could not remember how to get the headlights on and off, so I stopped driving. I would sit there in the evening, just watching tv and everything was fine, all of a sudden would jump up in a complete panic for no reason, could not control it, full blown panick attacks.

I have a history of sinus tachycardia, symptomatic pvcs and nsvt (not captured on holter but causes lightheadedness/dizziness) and take 40mg propranolol daily to alleviate symptoms. I would like to ask is it safe to continue to take BBs during pregnancy? as I have had mixed messages from doc. Also is the nsvt likely to be a problem if I quit taking BBs. I have had ecg, 24 hr holter and stress test (all fine).
then i developed a tremmor in my right hand and occasional drop foot(left) then last week i woke up feeling very dizzy and had jerking movements in head and upper body this lasted for 5 days during this my right cheek felt tingly painful and then numb this feeling was soon in my whole face and hands, my concerntaition was terrible, went up docs and he was very concerned and said it deff not anxiety or fibro and off i go to hospital they also had no idea and sent me home saying we will rush an
This was an acute onset that has continual persistence, it wasn't asymptomatic due to the angina, and later on, fatigue and occasional mild dizziness, and not to mention, I'm not a marathon runner, but am somewhat sedentary, so his diagnosis seems more like CYA mixed with end of shift syndrome. Anyways, I had a 48/hr Holter done, and have yet to get anything back from these people, despite having called quite a few times.
I have constant grinding, popping, and cracking sounds in my joints all over my body, especially in my neck, very badly in my shoulders, my back, jaw, elbows, wrists, knees and hips. It does not usually hurt but my muscles and joints hurt and seem to be tense, weak and stiff. Can anxiety cause all of these CONSTANT symptoms? This problem is effecting my life and my relationships and I just want to feel normal and like my old self again.
