Avatar f tn I read that too much potassium doesn’t work well while on propranolol because while on it the body does not excrete potassium as normally and you can get levels that are too high. Could this be the cause or is there an adjustment period while taking propranolol? I’ve been drinking pomegranate juice and cherry juice, 4 oz of each, with breakfast this past week. These are very high in potassium. Something is making me feel very strange and I’m hoping it wears off.
Avatar m tn My heart rate remains a little high and i want to take propranolol in a very small dose like 8 mg a day in divoded doses. I am scared that my bp would lower and cause probs. Can i take it???
Avatar f tn Hello. So I have afib. And I was prescribed propranolol and Cartia. Lately I’ve been extremely dizzy. The doctor told me to go off Cartia and to increase propanalol. That was just yesterday. I feel better but still a bit dizzy. How long before the dizziness will stop?
Avatar n tn If you are not taking the propranolol daily you could always try the xanax alone prior to the presentation and see how it affects you, but if you are taking the propranolol daily I think it would be best to space the medication and take them separately. As with any meds you could always contact your physicians office and speak with the nurse and determine what would be the best option for you. Good luck on your presentation and try to remain as a calm as possible!
Avatar f tn I was a little shaken but the rest of the day I had dizziness and palpatations, of the kind K had before being on propranolol. I ended up at the out of hours doctor who basically laughed it off and played the ‘anxiety’ excuse, the next day I went to my GP who thoroughly looked into all the scans And ecgs I had in 2013, which were of no concern, he wants me now to see a cardiologist. 3 weeks later still not letter from the hospital.

Avatar f tn I have a history of migraines for about twenty years. I quit smoking 7 months ago, and started propranolol 20 mg once a day. I gained 30 pounds. My whole body is sore and Im having episodes where my upper body and sometimes legs just feel so heavy and tired I feel like Im going to pass out. Had a Head CT, Head and Neck CTA, CBC, EKG all were normal. Is it related to migraine? ER doctor said it is anxiety. Oh I stopped celexa five months ago because I was extremely fatigued.
Avatar m tn At the beginning of this year I started feeling slight dizziness and shortness of breath. I latter found out that my blood pressure was on the high side averaging 140/90. I tried to exercise this pressure down, healthy eating, no salt, but problem is that sometimes my pressure would spike to levels like 160/110 pulse 150 for a short time of less than 5 minutes and then leave me feeling weak for a few days. Before starting Medication I did ESG, ECHO, cholesterol test, x-ray and blood test.
Avatar f tn ve been having recurrent episodes of numbness in the fingers and the back of the head, lightheadedness, and dizziness along with blackouts, i never fainted but i still need to support myself on something next to me.
Avatar f tn OK, PLEASE i am asking you to NOT STOP taking the Paxil cold turkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will go into withdrawal and may suffer greatly. If you think that your having a hard time now then just wait until your brain starts to crave the Paxil and then you'll know what is is like to suffer. Many people on this web-site have done the same thing that you are posing to do and have screamed out to anyone to hear and help them.
2035404 tn?1455169983 From what I know about this med it can cause dizziness and things like that when you stand up. Try getting up very slowly to see if that helps.
2010625 tn?1329372056 The only problem I have from it is orthostatic hypotension (dizziness upon standing) but all I have to do is stop and lean over for a few seconds and it passes. I also can't say it is just caused by the propranolol as several of my meds had the same side effect.
Avatar f tn t stop taking this medicine suddenly cause it can cause me dizziness rhythm problem heart attack and even death... I'm so scared to start this new medication It saying I have to withdraw it gradually What does gradually means? I have a child age 3 I want one more baby and in future I want to stop having beta blockers but is that scary to stop taking them that I may in risk of heart attack and death? I'm so anxious again What to do?
Avatar m tn Does anyone know how propranolol effects exercise? I do triathlon and train using a heart rate monitor. I am wondering if I would be able to progress athletically given my heart rate would be lowered substantially?
Avatar f tn That actually happened to me after my daughter was born, I had heart palpitations and pressure along with a sudden dizziness and passed out almost daily. I stopped passing out but still have the palpitations although it is a lot better since taking propranolol. The doctor never did give me a reason why this happened tho. Also the medicine was prescribed bc I have eyrthromelalgia.
3122467 tn?1342138836 To deal with it, I take a beta blocker, propranolol, and it works beautifully. Not only does it take care of the akathisia it also treats anxiety. Once i ran out of propranolol because it hadn't arrived from the mail order pharmacy and the akathisia came back so I know two things... I still have it and propranolol stops it.
Avatar f tn I got my period on 2 may this month and it was very light like a red/brownish and only lasted 2 days approximately and my periods normally last up to 5-6 days and are quite heavy. 2 weeks later I have come back on again this time seems normal I'm quite heavy. Has anyone else had this problem or similar and would you say it's something to worry about I just want to talk to people with the same situation so I feel comfortable and can kinda put my mind at rest a little.
Avatar f tn re not also busy diagnosing and treating the flu and heart problems and body pain etc. So theoretically they become much more expert in it and the interactions between drugs and things like quitting smoking and also in the appropriate drugs to prescribe for a certain condition. Beta blockers, for example, have only been found effective for social anxiety, which doesn't mean they don't work for some people for other things but that's not their main use in anxiety treatment.
1666131 tn?1303186843 my headaches came back around the time i stopped breastfeeding which is why i thought maybe the dizziness and hot flashes were just hormonal too but the dizziness is impacting my daily life alot! and being uncomfortable or in pain alot wears on your patience and you sanity :( i feel like im not being the best mother i could be...any way my nurologist talked about getting a spinal tap after my honeymoon if the headaches are still there (getting married may 1st!)...
Avatar n tn I also take the Propranolol twice a day for my heart. The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.
Avatar f tn In the end, NOTHING could control the levels and I had RAI and TT in 2008.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.
Avatar f tn I take it daily however it is along with other meds too. Usually treating migraines and/or anxiety is not a one-thing-fix-all. And even if something worked on you in the past may not work today and vise-versa. You can definitely ask about it, it won't hurt. But, my suggestion is to just let your doctor how bad it is and let him/her choose what to give you next. Remember, treatment is a marathon, not a sprint.
