About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. Things seemed to be slowly getting slightly better as the weeks and months progressed however now some new issues have been arising.
My grandmother on my moms side is the only relative who has experienced hair loss. Finally, it appears to thinning everywhere (though much worse in the temple area) and no chunks are missing. From this, I had pretty much concluded I had telogen effluvium.
Now, I have already seen a dermatologist for this.
I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair. Propecia has halted my hair loss and has re-grown considerable amount of hair. Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem.
I know going bald is hereditary, but the fact is that it starts when
-the body is producing to much testosterone that is being converted into DHT
-Or some other type of imbalance is causing excess DHT

I am in the exact same boat as you guys except no propecia for my hair loss I also have gynecomastia and I am awaiting my hormone test to see if there is an underlying cause.
I am 25 year old guy.. I have hair loss. so the doctor prescribed me for propecia which i consumed last 50 days. for the first 30 days, i consumed one tablet per day and the last 20 days i consumed 2 tablets/day. I was also taking anti convolution tablet for a different reason from a different doctor for 10 days.
Now i am having erectile dysfunction. So i stopped taking the pills now. Can anybody please tell me how many days it will take usually for reversing this condition?

i used to take wellbutrin and it made my hair fall out as well. pdocs don't know all of the side effects. i stopped taking the wellbutrin (taper off, never stop taking any med cold turkey) and i've been taking centrum silver (you don't have to be 50+..LOL!) and that has helped my hair, but it has never been the same.
i hate meds.
i refuse to take them....but thats just me.

I was told that this was a known side effect, but that the hair would grow back. It has been over four years!!! My hair is uniformly thinned out across the entire scalp. I have seen an Endocrinologist who says that there are no hormonal issues - my Testosterone levels are in the low end of the acceptability range. The hair loss is a BIG HUGE issue for me. What do I do to generate regrowth in the follicles obviously damaged by Roaccutane.
What role, if any, could this medication be playing in this? If it is negatively impacting muscle growth, is there a way to counteract the effects that it is having on my muscle without sacrificing my hair?
I read what the publish side effect say, but it does say not all listed side effects are listed and itprovides a way to get the "complte list"

I went to a dermatologist and she put me on propecia for the hair loss. I also took a blood test and said my iron was low. But other then that I my blood was normal. Is it possible they ran certain tests on my blood and not others which maybe why I am misdiagnosed. I have a follow up in late july. I didnt have this burning sensation before i went to see my doc. And my burning scalp is not a symptom of propecia. Any ideas to what this could be? A disease?
It blocks the conversion of dht and can inturn lower testosterone levels. if u read up on propecia, the hair loss treatment.
Hair loss is sometimes a side effect of taking beta blockers. Not sure if there's a way to stop that other than changing medications.
You have normal sinus rhythm but it's fast? How fast? If it's consistently over 100, you should talk to your cardio about that. It's not normal or healthy. Your meds may need to be adjusted.

I took him to dermetologist, he priscribed Propecia for him. He said it has sexual side effect and goes away when yo sop taking the drug. He has lots of hair now and he does not lose any more hair. However, news is floting around saying that the sexual side effect comes from propecia is sometime not reversible. Asyesterday,he stopped his medicine. I am really worried if it has done any damage to him or not.
