From what I read there r many side effects from this med propecia and it is irreversible....but none mentioned brain fog...etc.... U should have some blood labs done to see if u have low levels of vitamins and minerals which could affect u in this manor. Vit D, B12, magnesium and potassium....should be looked at... Good luck and do keep us posted.
My main question is - can long term propecia use for MPB cause cognitive & speech disorders due to continued suppression of 5 Alpha Reductase Type II enzyme in the Spinal Cord? A logic I cam across on the net - please comment: Dihydroprogesterone -> Tetrahydroprogesterone (Allopregnanolone) & Dihydrodeoxycorticosterone -> tetrahydrodeoxycorticosterone are catalyzed by an enzyme called 3-alpha hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase as a further metabolisis of 5AR II in spinal cord.
Sex doesn't feel as good either and I don't really want to have sex that much anymore which is tough for relationships. I also have brain fog, low energy, and a sort of lifeless feeling… I've seen many doctors, but haven't found one who understand hormones that's why I'm posting here... I'm currently not on any medication, but I took Propecia for about 7 years, which screwed me up, but I've been off it for two years, but my libido and energy level have not returned.
• Sexual Adhedonia or the inability to experience any pleasure from sexual stimulation or ejaculation. • Insomnia, anxiety, brain fog and depression leading to suicide. • Urinary frequency disturbing night’s sleep. What percent of men taking Finasteride develop Post Propecia Syndrome? As yet we do not have accurate figures for this question. It could be as high as 2% but does that matter?

Once meds are adjusted properly (seldom the initial dose we're prescribed), hair loss, inability to lose weight, brain fog and fatigue should disappear. When do you follow up with more blood work?
I expressed to her that my blood result may look good but I don’t feel good…especially Brain fog; I can’t function at work when I need to think a lot to fix a problem. She recommends trying Armour and see if this is better. I research it in the internet and was surprised that this may work for me and help me with Brain fog. I’m starting today, August 7, 2007 with ½ grain (30mg) of Thyroid Tabs USP (MFG Qualitest).
Hi guys I'm 33 and took propecia for hair loss fior a few years with in retrospect sides of ed, low libido and brain fog. Last year I cycled on and off the stuff a couple of times which might have made things worse, was self-medicating, before finally a two month run at the end of last year put me in hell. Basically I had depression and poor libido then, when quitting on finally realising why, stopped the stuff and 'crashed' three weks later with awful ED and fatigue, insomnia, muscle wastage.

Throughout the first month for about 6 days (day here, day there, but not 6 in a row), I experienced loss of visual focus for the entire day. It was as if I was surrounded by light fog. Also throughout the first month, whenever I clutched my jaws together, it felt as if I had some liquid in my ears, but upon doctors check-up, no liquid was found in the ears.
Please post your blood work when you recieve it, i am intrested in figuring this one out. Have you ever used hair loss drugs such as proscar or propecia?
I also have has some brain fog and difficulty concentrating. I went through a complete physical and all was normal, so my MD sent me to a heart doctor. So far they have done $7,000.00 in tests (stress test, E.E.G., etc.) and now they want to do an angiogram which would cost $20,000.00. The only thing they found in my stress test was that my heart's lower chamber seemed to have a slight lack of blood flow, but they said it could be a false positive.
Nolvadex dosen't stop E2 armotization at the liver level but rather acts as a SERM which effects breast tissue, areas of the brain, etc. When you stopped nolvadex a surge in E2 probably happened which triggered a down regulation of LH, TSH and caused a negative feedback loop to occur. Because your piturity is dysfunctional (most likely like my testicles) then you're going to get strange reactions from drugs like this. How are you feeling now? Has anything improved?
Pretty much all of the time the problem will come back like a moth to a flame after I start thinking about it, after I allow my mind to wander. I'm aware that the brain is quite powerful and can often sort of "convince" one's body that something is wrong when it really isn't, hence my penile complications. But the physical problems are very real and frankly, scare the crap out of me.
