From what I read there r many side effects from this med propecia and it is irreversible....but none mentioned brain fog...etc.... U should have some blood labs done to see if u have low levels of vitamins and minerals which could affect u in this manor. Vit D, B12, magnesium and potassium....should be looked at... Good luck and do keep us posted.
My main question is - can long term propecia use for MPB cause cognitive & speech disorders due to continued suppression of 5 Alpha Reductase Type II enzyme in the Spinal Cord? A logic I cam across on the net - please comment: Dihydroprogesterone -> Tetrahydroprogesterone (Allopregnanolone) & Dihydrodeoxycorticosterone -> tetrahydrodeoxycorticosterone are catalyzed by an enzyme called 3-alpha hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase as a further metabolisis of 5AR II in spinal cord.
Sex doesn't feel as good either and I don't really want to have sex that much anymore which is tough for relationships. I also have brain fog, low energy, and a sort of lifeless feeling… I've seen many doctors, but haven't found one who understand hormones that's why I'm posting here... I'm currently not on any medication, but I took Propecia for about 7 years, which screwed me up, but I've been off it for two years, but my libido and energy level have not returned.
Once meds are adjusted properly (seldom the initial dose we're prescribed), hair loss, inability to lose weight, brain fog and fatigue should disappear. When do you follow up with more blood work?
I expressed to her that my blood result may look good but I don’t feel good…especially Brain fog; I can’t function at work when I need to think a lot to fix a problem. She recommends trying Armour and see if this is better. I research it in the internet and was surprised that this may work for me and help me with Brain fog. I’m starting today, August 7, 2007 with ½ grain (30mg) of Thyroid Tabs USP (MFG Qualitest).
Hi guys I'm 33 and took propecia for hair loss fior a few years with in retrospect sides of ed, low libido and brain fog. Last year I cycled on and off the stuff a couple of times which might have made things worse, was self-medicating, before finally a two month run at the end of last year put me in hell. Basically I had depression and poor libido then, when quitting on finally realising why, stopped the stuff and 'crashed' three weks later with awful ED and fatigue, insomnia, muscle wastage.

It was as if I was surrounded by light fog. Also throughout the first month, whenever I clutched my jaws together, it felt as if I had some liquid in my ears, but upon doctors check-up, no liquid was found in the ears. After the initial 6 weeks there were some changes, the pressure decreased on average, the pressure attacks were not as severe, and at times the pressure disappeared for hours.
