Most people normally shed 50 to 100 hairs a day and this amount of hair loss should not cause noticeable thinning of the scalp hair. Hair thinning and loss could be due to increased rate of shedding compared to the rate of regrowth. This could be due to: hormonal changes, poor nutrition, diseases, certain medications, infections and stress.
I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair. Propecia has halted my hair loss and has re-grown considerable amount of hair. Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem.
Since telogen effluvium is reversible and self-limiting, I think you should hold off on the Propecia for 3 months and see what happens. If the hair is falling out a lot less, then I would continue to wait for the hair to re-grow from its telogen loss. You don't really have anything to lose--male-pattern hair loss wouldn't leave you substantially balder in 3 months anyway, and you can always reconsider the use of Propecia then.

Finasteride is an underestimated and dangerous pill for hair loss. Its hard to stop it and not experience libido issues. You are lucky enough that you took it for so little time. There are other people taking it for years facing serious hormonal side effects. It will probably take as long as you took the tablets to feel like before. So a couple of months is a good projection as this pill changes hormonal balance in your blood and gene expression about androgen receptors.
He has lots of hair now and he does not lose any more hair. However, news is floting around saying that the sexual side effect comes from propecia is sometime not reversible. Asyesterday,he stopped his medicine. I am really worried if it has done any damage to him or not. He has never been in any relationship, so he really can not tell if it has done anything to him. please read more on any medicine you take.

5 mg for one year and 1 mg for 1 year till today), In october 2016 my derm put me on accutane 10 mg and minoxiline(100mg) for treating my mild acne, I had been drinking heavily for 5 days before starting my accutane course, 10 days into the course, I started to have Gyno(Unilateral, right breast with a movable tender lump), I dropped accutane and minoxiline and also propecia after 23 days. It has been a month now but my Gyno hasnt reduced, I restarted propecia as I was starting to lose hair.
I went to a dermatologist and she put me on propecia for the hair loss. I also took a blood test and said my iron was low. But other then that I my blood was normal. Is it possible they ran certain tests on my blood and not others which maybe why I am misdiagnosed. I have a follow up in late july. I didnt have this burning sensation before i went to see my doc. And my burning scalp is not a symptom of propecia. Any ideas to what this could be? A disease?
About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. Things seemed to be slowly getting slightly better as the weeks and months progressed however now some new issues have been arising.

I am and have been,going thru massive shedding. My hair is dry and breaks easily but the real concern is the shedding. There is a root to the hair that falls out and my head is now feeling tingley. I have been told by a Dermatolgist who had my hair tested that I have non scarring Alopecia. I may have that, however this is severe shedding and not typical hair loss. I often shed hair throughout my cycle and I also have very tender hair scalp but for my period the shedding stops and only the tenderness remains. I've noticed that even sometimes I feel hotter and colder than everyone else and I took a test on the internet and it said that perhaps I have a hormone shortage. There isn't a dog food that I know of that will stop shedding. Shedding is the release of dead hair. Brushing on a regular basis will help, having a groom done will help, or you could have your dog shaved. ??? Some people prefer it, some dont. Thought I'd throw it out there.
I've noticed my lips peeling more often.. I don't shed anywhere else though except for my hair falls out lol.
