propecia

Avatar n tn Hi, Most people normally shed 50 to 100 hairs a day and this amount of hair loss should not cause noticeable thinning of the scalp hair. Hair thinning and loss could be due to increased rate of shedding compared to the rate of regrowth. This could be due to: hormonal changes, poor nutrition, diseases, certain medications, infections and stress.
Avatar m tn My hair and beard have been thinning for a while , and it seems to be getting worse by the week. I have had all the relative blood tests to rule out anemia and thyroid problems and they are negative.
1654177 tn?1319838494 Well, it's been 4 weeks since I ended treatment. I'm starting to feel sooo much better! My hair is still shedding all over though. To anyone else out there who has finished, how many months did it take for your hair to stop shedding. It's all over my house, my car, the laundry comes out of the dryer with clumps of hair that accumulated on my clothes, ect. Don't get me wrong, I still have long pretty hair, and I'm so grateful!
Avatar m tn I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair. Propecia has halted my hair loss and has re-grown considerable amount of hair. Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem.
Avatar n tn Since telogen effluvium is reversible and self-limiting, I think you should hold off on the Propecia for 3 months and see what happens. If the hair is falling out a lot less, then I would continue to wait for the hair to re-grow from its telogen loss. You don't really have anything to lose--male-pattern hair loss wouldn't leave you substantially balder in 3 months anyway, and you can always reconsider the use of Propecia then. Take care. Dr.
Avatar f tn Finasteride is an underestimated and dangerous pill for hair loss. Its hard to stop it and not experience libido issues. You are lucky enough that you took it for so little time. There are other people taking it for years facing serious hormonal side effects. It will probably take as long as you took the tablets to feel like before. So a couple of months is a good projection as this pill changes hormonal balance in your blood and gene expression about androgen receptors.
Avatar n tn He has lots of hair now and he does not lose any more hair. However, news is floting around saying that the sexual side effect comes from propecia is sometime not reversible. Asyesterday,he stopped his medicine. I am really worried if it has done any damage to him or not. He has never been in any relationship, so he really can not tell if it has done anything to him. please read more on any medicine you take.
Avatar n tn I know going bald is hereditary, but the fact is that it starts when -the body is producing to much testosterone that is being converted into DHT -Or some other type of imbalance is causing excess DHT DHT causes hair loss I am in the exact same boat as you guys except no propecia for my hair loss I also have gynecomastia and I am awaiting my hormone test to see if there is an underlying cause.
Avatar m tn 5 mg for one year and 1 mg for 1 year till today), In october 2016 my derm put me on accutane 10 mg and minoxiline(100mg) for treating my mild acne, I had been drinking heavily for 5 days before starting my accutane course, 10 days into the course, I started to have Gyno(Unilateral, right breast with a movable tender lump), I dropped accutane and minoxiline and also propecia after 23 days. It has been a month now but my Gyno hasnt reduced, I restarted propecia as I was starting to lose hair.
Avatar m tn I went to a dermatologist and she put me on propecia for the hair loss. I also took a blood test and said my iron was low. But other then that I my blood was normal. Is it possible they ran certain tests on my blood and not others which maybe why I am misdiagnosed. I have a follow up in late july. I didnt have this burning sensation before i went to see my doc. And my burning scalp is not a symptom of propecia. Any ideas to what this could be? A disease?

436837 tn?1293793226 He continues to have to battle dermatitis (Yeast) which makes his fur/hair very light behind his ears and on his belly area - black skin, and in the ears. In any case, while I don't notice any hair blowing around (unless I look at the risers on the stair case, or corners at the floor, I can say my rug (upright) vacuum picks up a hand full (I have big hands) of hair any time I run it for a few minutes, e.g,., vacuum the living room rug about 20x30 feet.
Avatar n tn About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. Things seemed to be slowly getting slightly better as the weeks and months progressed however now some new issues have been arising.
Avatar m tn Hello, It has been found that the sexual side effects associated with the hair loss medication like Propecia, includes problems with libido, ejaculations and orgasm and it could last even after patients stop taking the drug which may be months to years. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn 5mg every other day for my hair. Could this be the cause? He insisted that it was NOT the Finasteride (propecia). In addition, I asked if it could be low testosterone and he claimed that it was not the issue in this case. I'm an avid bodybuilder whom exercises 5-6 days a week.
Avatar n tn “Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not use PROPECIA and should not handle crushed or broken PROPECIA tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities of a male baby's sex organs. If a woman who is pregnant comes into contact with the active ingredient in PROPECIA, a doctor should be consulted. PROPECIA tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets are not broken or crushed.
Avatar m tn I am and have been, going thru massive shedding. My hair is dry and breaks easily but the real concern is the shedding. There is a root to the hair that falls out and my head is now feeling tingley. I have been told by a Dermatolgist who had my hair tested that I have non scarring Alopecia. I may have that, however this is severe shedding and not typical hair loss. Its been going on for about a year and a half.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the info. I am 7 wks post tx and am also still losing hair and beginning to wonder. Funny part is the hair on my legs that finally is coming in strong? Comes in, and makes a "u" turn. kinda looks like velcro it is so curly.
Avatar n tn Hi, im a 25yr old female. I have very thin hair that is weak and falls out. I know you are meant to lose 70 hairs per day but mine is more like 200 per day. It basically falls out in my hand. I take spirulina, cilcea, use ganaderma shampoo but nothing seems to be making my hair stronger and healthier. Can you recommend anything for me?
Avatar f tn I often shed hair throughout my cycle and I also have very tender hair scalp but for my period the shedding stops and only the tenderness remains. I've noticed that even sometimes I feel hotter and colder than everyone else and I took a test on the internet and it said that perhaps I have a hormone shortage. This might be true because I don't have a balanced diet. I know I shouldn't rely on the internet for medical advice but I really want more help to see if this is normal or what.
Avatar n tn There isn't a dog food that I know of that will stop shedding. Shedding is the release of dead hair. Brushing on a regular basis will help, having a groom done will help, or you could have your dog shaved. ??? Some people prefer it, some dont. Thought I'd throw it out there.
Avatar f tn I've noticed my lips peeling more often.. I don't shed anywhere else though except for my hair falls out lol.
