I have endometriosis, and about 10 years ago I had the surgery where they cleaned up all the fibroids. My only symptoms of the endo are extreme lower back pain and cramps when I ovulate. Ten days ago I had a frozen embryo transfer, and am on my two week wait until my blood pregnancy test. (3 sleeps left) The last two nights asleep, I have been awakened by the same kind of ovulation pains & cramps.

I have been on prometrium every pregnancy (this one included) except my first one. I miscarried 4 times while taking it, and had the bleeding as expected. It won't stop symptoms, I know that from personal experience. Good luck to you!!

I have all that and i am still on the prometrium, I am pretty sure it is just normal pregnancy symptoms. I cried in Walmart last night because i smelled something that made me gag really loud... couldn't stop crying hysterically, LOL!!!

Prometrium makes me incredibly, incredibly dizzy if I haven't had enough water. Unfortunately all the symptoms associated with it are also pregnancy symptoms. Just a few more days to test!!!

I had my 3rd IUI on 5/7/08. I took Clomid on days 5-9. This morning I was not feeling well (nausea, tired, etc). I am really hoping that I am pregnant but I'm not sure if my "symptoms" are just in my head or real. It seems too early to have pregnancy symptoms but what do you think? I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..

t cause m/c actually it prevents it. Many women take prometrium to support pregnancy. Many women have low level of progesterone so they start prometrium.It is safe to take. I started having some brown spotts the day when i had to do the first beta and my RE started me on prometrium and the spotting stopped. If you're having a m/c is not because of prometrium.Check your levels to see if is a good pregnancy.

I was on prometrium with my last pregnancy, and although the pregnancy didn't work out, it had nothing to do with prometrium. There are so many women on here who took it during pregnancy to have all turn out just fine. Its a pretty common thing to give us "older" expecting moms. I already have a prescription for it as I am to start taking it again as soon as I get another positve pregnancy test. As far as I know its perfectly safe to take during pregnancy.

Yes lot of women with progesterone take prometrium during pregnancy! I myself took progesterone injections but its about the same thing. Ive read lots of posts where people were taking glucophage also and it seems to be helpful.

I'm taking prometrium (200mg) once a day at bedtime post ovulation. I should be 9 or 10 DPO. I've been taking it 9 days. I know that taking this can cause pregnancy symptoms, but my question is: does it build up and intensify as you take it day after day. Ex: my breasts are larger but the tenderness has been very mild, then disappeared, until last night. Studies in humans cannot rule out the possibility of harm. Therefore, Prometrium capsules should be used during pregnancy only if indicated.

Also, it seems the symptoms mimic pregnancy symptoms. Has anybody had a negative outcome using this drug? I know a lot of women on here have talked about being on it. Any thoughts?

When I put patients on prometrium, I recommend a pregnancy test on day 32 or 33, and if the test is negative I suggest stopping the prometrium since the long periods can be a bit misleading.

) By all means, if you have been having unprotected sex and expected a period to come, go ahead and take a pregnancy test. Two weeks after you think you ovulated, most pregnancy tests are accurate. But it can take a while for prometrium to work to bring on a period (especially the first time you use it), so that might be what is happening. If you're trying to get pregnant, I hope that is the reason your period didn't come when expected after stopping the prometrium.

I am taking Prometrium and took it my last pregnancy. If your Progesterone is low you will miscarry. Likewise if there is a genetic issue with the little embryo that would cause miscarry Prometrium won't "save" the pregnancy. But at least you'll be able to get far enough along using the Prometrium to see what is going to happen and possibly prevent a miscarriage in the event your little bean is healthy as can be! Prometrium makes me feel really dizzy.

I had a m/c about 5 months before that, so I believe the Prometrium helped me sustain the pregnancy. Prometrium is a progesteron supplement, the lack of progesterone can lead to m/c, so it is supposed to help with keeping the pregnancy. Like the others said, around the end of the first trimester the placenta takes over and you no longer need the supplments.
