I am currently 6weeks 5 days pregnant (3rd pregnancy - other 2 ended in miscarriages). We have been having my hcg levels and progesterone levels monitored due to my history with miscarriages. HCG levels were going through the roof for a while with a doubling time of 48 hours. This last hcg test was much lower than I had anticipated due to the others. It had a doubling time of almost 100 hours.

youre levels came back higher than they would be without the pills. I was on 400mg a day orally, what is your dose? oral progesterone is the least effective method. so 200mg or below is usually not enough for someone that needs a supplement. right now it sounds like you are at a pretty safe level, but you want to make sure it continues to go UP. keep in mind levels fluctuate throughout the day.

I have seen other post about low level prost. You were told you are on track so that is good. I know it can be a factor in MC but you can get Hormones supplements.

My OB has done a tonne of bloodwork at different times of my cycle, and I am honestly not sure what my progesterone levels are. My 2nd pregnancy he had me start prometrium at my first appointment with him (about 5 weeks along). After that loss, he gave me a prescription for prometrium so that I start it as soon as I get a positive on my home test. He said it can't hurt anything to be on it. I also found out here that many many of us "older" expectant moms are on it.

They only took my progesterone levels once after I started the Prometrium to make sure it was theraputic and it was in the 20's don't remember exactly. But they haven't taken it again. But I've had 4 ultrasounds where we have seen baby's heartbeat and everything is well.

Progesterone above 20 is great! Your levels will fluctuate throughout the day so it is possible that the "drop" was just that your progesterone was low at that particular time of the blood draw. There's no harm in taking the supplements (I'd do oral supplements, aka Prometrium, as opposed to suppositories since your prog. is above 20) if it helps to ease your mind. You'll have to stop taking them by week 10-12.

I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes. I stopped taking the prometrium th week before I called her.

I think prometrium will raise your levels whether you're pregnant or not...but hopefully this is your month!!! Best of luck!

Before this pregnancy I had a miscarriage. My fertility doctor has me on 400 mg suppositories morning and night as well as prometrium oral capsule 200 mg at night. My progesterone and hcg levels on Feb 7 were hcg: 215 progesterone:23.5. Then on Feb 10 they were HCG: 1850 progesterone and 32.5 and yesterday Feb 14 they were hcg: 8880 progesterone: 28.5. My doctor called today and put me on the prometrium capsule in the morning as well. Is it normal for progesterone to fluctuate like this..

I have had 3 past m/c, but 3 healthy children since the last one. I found out Thurs. I was pregnant. I called my ob. He started me on Prometrium 200 mg vaginally per day. I started that Friday night. Sat. afternoon I had some brown spotting. Was checked at ER and everything ok. hcg was 17-they said was very early.They also checked my progesterone level. Sat. night late had heavier red bleeding like period. Went back to ER they said was m/c most likely.

How far along are you? Did he tell you what your hcg levels were? I had a mc back in Sep ending in a d&c and a natural mc Feb 8th. The levels are supposed to double every 72 hours. If the levels aren't doubling as they should be, then that could be an indication that there is a problem.

Nov 08 I was pregnant and my progesterone was very low, I started to bleed so that is why we checked the progesterone levels. They put me on prometrium and my P4 levels went up into the 30's however the outcome of that pregnancy wasn't very good. There have been lots of women with low progesterone levels put on supplements and have carried to term though. Prometrium won't keep you from m/c but will delay it sometimes.

Yes, Prometrium would not force a period.

8, I asked the nurse was that good and she said yes but they like to see it above 20. I started prometrium until I have blood test for pregnancy. What are my chances of being pregnant?

I am 9 weeks pregnant (thank God) and I was taking metformin to control insulin levels and hormone levels. I got pregnant four months after starting the metformin treatment. Because I had a miscarriage last year. They put me on prometrium. As soon as I found out I was pregnant. I went to get my HCG and progesteron checked. it was HCG 130 and progesterone 45.8 which is good. But they put me on it just in case.

My doctor didn't check mine because I was only borderline low in the beginning. I have occasional hormone headaches from the baby but these are different they don't respond to anything, i was up to 1000mg of tylenol every 4 hours. My doctor gave me migraine pills I took the first today and it was gone in about 45 minutes :). Jem- I hope you don't get the withdrawl headaches, good luck. Thanks for the reassurance.

I had my NT screening Tuesday and everything was great ! I have completely stopped my prometrium as if Friday and my levels are 21. I am 13 weeks. Do you think that nimberbis too low? My re said it's fine but you know me .. Reading on the net is seems low . What do u guys think?

I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..

Unfortunately, progesterone levels do not indicate anything other than a "good ovulation." However, 54 is a very good level! In a normal, unmedicated cycle, they're typically looking for a level of 10 or higher. Best of luck to you!!!
