prometrium dosage to induce period

When I took prometrium 3 years ago, it took about 12 or 14 days to get my period. I only had one cycle since I got pregnant with my son on the second round. Good luck!!!

Hi everyone, I haven't been on in like 5 months. If you don't know me, my husband and I have been trying to have a baby for over two years. I haven't been on because we stopped trying for a little while. But I'm back. This is something I want so bad I can taste it. I'm not ovulating and my OB won't give me anything to induce it. I'm on provera which is supposed to induce my period and that isn't working either.

you take clomid usually cd5-9 or cd3-7, so you have to have a period to know when to take it. you can use prometrium or provera they both induce af. the side effects of prometrium are horrible, i have never taken provera but i have heard good things. you might want to start tracking your bbt to see if you are ovulating.

as keyan said, they can run some tests throughtout the month to check your hormones and do an ultrasound as well.... you can ask your dr if they can induce your period (prometrium) and then put you on some meds to induce ovulation.. they can make sure your body responds to the meds by ultrasound and labs, and then put you on prometrium during the tww!

Can anyone help me with this, i need to know which tablet can bring on your period faster, duphaston or provera. I need to know as soon as possible.

Hi, i agree you should be on metformin.. i take prometrium for 10 days to induce af, it can also take up to 14 days after the last pill. i don't know if it has to do with pcos but every cycle i take prometrium it takes longer to start. last cycle i got to day 14 and nothing! my doc just started me on clomid again as if i had af. i think women with pcos respond different to hormones, i would wait until day 14 then call your doc.

t ovulate your Dr. will up your dosage and maybe give you Prometrium or some other drug to induce your AF. I’m actually surprise he didn’t induce you before you started your first dosage of Clomid. Now you can also take Clomid on different CD for instance I take my on cd3-7 some do cd5-9. Just follow your dr. orders and if you have any questions call your dr. or ask us we can try to help you as best as we can. BTW are you doing anything tests to check your ovulation: BBT, OPK, CM...?

It should be taken vaginally. You should insert it with your finger as far up as you can. Orally is more to induce a period. Your OB has instucted you correctly.

Has your doctor thought about giving you provera to induce your period to help with your TTC? Also, I see your cd41 have you tested just to make sure your not pregnant now?

hi everyone i have a question for you guyes i am trying to get pregnent and my doctor give me 100 mg clomid day 3 to 7 i ask her to low dose she said thats not too much and she also give me estrodial and prometrium estrodial day 8 to 13 prometrium day 17 to28 i am using clear blue easy digital ovulation kit today is day 12 on my period i am taking early morning test can any one tell me when to cheak please help me this is my first round and i also have a very regular period

I know that it is best to take the lowest dosage that gives me relief of my symptoms to decrease my risks of cancer. For the past 6 months, I have been taking half the dosage prescribed initially. I am taking estrogel 0.06% 1 pump daily and prometrium 200 mg. every second day, since my pharmacy only supplies the prometrium in 200 mg gel capsules which I cannot cut in half. I have remained symptom free.

I completely agree with Christine. Best to speak to your Dr. I took prometrium as well, and in my case it was taken orally. There are still a few side effects - made me a bit sleepy is one that comes to mind, but at least no irritation. In terms of effectiveness my RE says its no different. That might be a good alternative for you to ask your Dr. about. But as Christine says, I wouldn't reduce them or stop them without consultation. The good news is most Dr.

I'm sorry i haven't writen in a while but after my 3 m/c i have been a little away from the site.I'm still so frustrated that after this m/c i still haven't gotten a period.And it's been since march.I had a beta level last week and after 8 weeks since the m/c is still 2.It took me 7 weeks for my cycle to start with the first m/c and 5 with the second but this time is taking forever.

I did the prometrium to bring a period on and started bleeding before I was done. I finished up the pills and had a normal cycle. Call the gyno and let him now it is poradic. Should be ok - but just in case, call and just let them know.

Hi! What your doctor told you about your IUD and your cycles and your fertility is exactly what I would have said to you too! And I would have expected your period right on schedule. It may be just an unlucky coincidence that it didn't happen that way. I would also try Provera or Prometrium as a next step to induce a period if it doesn't happen spontaneously and the test remains negative.

Ok, so just got my prescription filled for progesterone supplements. This time it's a higher dosage...200mg X3, and it's the first time they have been prescribed to me in the form of vaginal suppositories. I have taken them orally in the past (as per my OB), but my RE prefers them vaginally, mainly due to side effects like being tired. And because this is a higher dosage then I've taken before, she's thinks this will be easier for me.

These hormonal medicines always cause this,,and will get used to after 5-6 days,,,take low dosage, that is good. Increase the dosage little by littl, so your body adjusts with.

I was taking metformin 500mg 3 times a day. I was also taking provera to help me get a period so I know when my new cycle starts. And than my dr had me on clomid. I started out on 50mg than 100mg than 150mg. It didnt get me ovulating and my dr would only keep me on it no more than 6 months so I finally went to see a fertility specialist and he knew what he was doing. OBs can only give you a few options. REs specialize in these treatments. I say go for the clomid.

Well I will start off by saying I am taking progestrone due to the mulitiple miscarriages I have had and my NP had found my levels being oddly low, so she told me to start taking this prescription vaginally. On the other hand to comment back to 30something13, I had not taken the prescription yet when my husband was down there, it was valentines day and planned my night wisely. I had showered and waited on taking my dosage.

My doctor put me on Prometrium pills for 10 days to start my period because I was late but didn't ovulate last month. Once my period starts I'm supposed to call the office so they can call in a prescription for Clomid. My question is I'm on day 7 and still no period. I was spotting yesterday but that's it. Saw the doc on Oct 13 and did blood work and started Prometrium 400mg for 10 days to induce period. Finished Prometrium on Oct 22. Today is Nov 3 and still no period. My doc said I should get my period within a few days of stopping the Prometrium. Data for Prometrium says should get a period within 7 days. It's now been 12 days since stopping the Prometrium. The bloodwork showed hCG level at 1, TSH at 1.32 and Prolactin at 8.9. Appears no tissue left behind.

Prometrium is to help raise the progesterone to aid in implantation of the baby. It is taken the day after Ovulation and till the period occurs. Now as it raises the progesterone it can delay your period if you are not pregnant as during the luteal phase (after ovulation) your progesterone will decrease and estrogen levels will rise talling your body to shed the uterine lining causeing yoru period to occur. When you take suppliments the progesterone stays up and may not fall till stopped.

I talked to the doctor today who told me to stop the prometrium and I should expect my period in 2-3 days. I had my hopes up that perhaps I was pregnant because I know some women who have not gotten a positive on a home pregnancy test until a week after the expected period. I think I had my hopes up too much when the period was late when in fact it may have been the progesterone that was delaying my period. Has anyone had experience on progesterone like this?

so you are saying that if I get pregnant while on the prometrium my risk of miscarriage is not going to be higher and the meds won't force a period right?
