For example, with my current pregnancy, my hCG levels continutally rose, but my progesterone levels were on the low end. So, during weeks 10-13 I was told to take 200mg of Prometrium orally to help maintain a within normal range level. By taking additional progesterone, this had no effect on my hCG levels. Ok, so just got my prescription filled for progesterone supplements. This time it's a higher dosage...200mg X3, and it's the first time they have been prescribed to me in the form of vaginal suppositories. I have taken them orally in the past (as per my OB), but my RE prefers them vaginally, mainly due to side effects like being tired. And because this is a higher dosage then I've taken before, she's thinks this will be easier for me.

Yes lot of women with progesterone take prometrium during pregnancy! I myself took progesterone injections but its about the same thing. Ive read lots of posts where people were taking glucophage also and it seems to be helpful.

I am 6w4d pregnant... third pregnancy after two m/c's in the first trimesters... and I am concerned about my progesterone levels. My initial labs showed a progesterone level of 15.5, and my hcg more than doubled. My OB prescribed Prometrium 200mg, saying he wanted the progesterone level >20. My concern is his refusal to check my progesterone level after taking the Prometrium.

t work out, it had nothing to do with prometrium. There are so many women on here who took it during pregnancy to have all turn out just fine. Its a pretty common thing to give us "older" expecting moms. I already have a prescription for it as I am to start taking it again as soon as I get another positve pregnancy test. As far as I know its perfectly safe to take during pregnancy. Also, congrats on being through your first trimester!

Well I will start off by saying I am taking progestrone due to the mulitiple miscarriages I have had and my NP had found my levels being oddly low, so she told me to start taking this prescription vaginally. On the other hand to comment back to 30something13, I had not taken the prescription yet when my husband was down there, it was valentines day and planned my night wisely. I had showered and waited on taking my dosage.

I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..

If you have a problem with taking meds in pill form you should also have your dr put a note in your chart so if you need any other meds during the pregnancy the dr will remember to have it in a liquid.

Did you have sex or an internal exam/internal ultrasound recently? These can cause spotting throughout your pregnancy because your cervix is more delicate, some women also spot throughout their whole pregnancy and have healthy babies. You really have to just wait and see. It's a good sign your HCG levels are going up and not down too!

Hi I was wondering if any one took prometrium during their first trimester of their pregnancy? If yes, what were the side affects? I have had one miscarriage at 4 months and I fear I am probably having another one with my second pregnancy I have been prescribed Prometrium and I am just wondering if it has done any good to any one etc. Thank you.

Is the dr going to test you every other day to see if the progesterone levels increase so they will know if they should increase the dosage or if it is fine at the dosage they have you on? I take prometrium when I get pregnant and have found that it has a great effect on helping the progesterone levels.

my doctor put me on prometrium. 1st month 10 days later i got my period. 2nd month 10 days later i only spotted for a day and no period. Did this happend to anyone? What could it be?

from what my re and ob told me it is ok to have sex during pregnancy. also u might want to talk to your dr about prometrium (sp) it is suppose to help with making it easier for baby to latch and hold on. I have had 3-4 mc. i was on it for 1 of them. Gl.

Very quickly, since I went off the pill in August 2007, I suffered a m/c in December. On 4/14 AF came on time (for the first time might I add) so I figured maybe my cycle will be regular. Well it was from 4/14-4/18 and pretty much consisted of heavy spotting and barely any cramping (unusual for me).

Your progesterone is low but good thing is that your DOC has prescribed a support supplement. The prescribed prometrium 100mg 3 x/ day will aid in supporting the pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. Try not to worry; I'm sure you will be fine.

I take prometrium for 10 days Iinto the 2nd day I have headaches ,,this morning I took them 400 mg I was like a druggie or drunk I couldnt funtion I didnt know what my computer was ,, my daughter thought I was drinking ..I dont drink lol .. why is this happening to me , my second month on them ,, headaches last time but not the slurring or confusion ..I had a choice to take 1 each day for 30 days or 2 for 10 ..
