It doesnt appear that the ascites is large enough to cause any symptoms. Its OK for the prograf level to be this low 7 years out from liver transplantation.

you sound like you may be on a bit too much immunosuppression this many years out from the transplant. a lot depends on the prograf and rapa trough levels though. i recommend aggressively talking with the transplant team about lowering the doses of both. not sure frankly why you need to be on both rapa and prograf.

I think 2 mg Prograf per day at 6 months out is a really nice dose and his Prograf blood level of 6.5 is definitely within range.

I believe that diarrhea can cause an elevation in Prograf level. Taking Prograf with food can decrease absorption and result in a lower Prograf level. This is even more pronounced if you take it with fatty food. If Prograf doesn't upset your stomach it is best taken about 1 hour before eating - on an empty stomach. The range on my labs sheet is 4 - 16 so you are well within range.

My history: liver transplant 1 year ago, had 2 moderate rejections and 1 mild since transplant. At present time having moderate rejection, recently had one portal stent and 8 Bilary ERCP's to remove stones and sludge and had stenting done, and at the present time there are no blockages. Was on Rapamune (5mg a day) prior to hernia surgery and then week before hernia surgery was put on Prograf (4mg a day) and taken off the Rapamune. I have been on Progaf since hernia surgery (8 weeks ago).

I was off both the pred and cellcept by 8 months. The trough level for prograf changes the further out you get from your transplant. Seeing that .5mg is the capsule of prograf they make, I assume it's the lowest dosage possible. It's always 12 hours apart since it doesn't have a long half life. I pushed to get off the meds as quickly as was safely possible. Why take more than we need ?

If i lower my prograf lower than 6.5 through rate i start getting discomfort right side .i am having cognitive issues on prograf that are getting very hard to live with, seems like it got alot worse after my last of three mri with contrast in two years. was hospitalized two days after last contrast exsposure white blood count went to1000, headach, fever urine got exstremly foamy, severe itching ,tighting and rashd eveloped on lower legs two weeks after.

I take Prograf for the liver transplant and I know Naragenin affects the Prograf levels. My question is if during treatment I also took Naragenin and my prograf levels were closely watched and adjusted for the Naragenin effects, wouldn't I have a better chance of clearing the virus.

Post transplants should be aware that Sovaldi increases effects of prograf, so prograf level has to be checked and the dose may need to be adjusted. Feeling better with each day, more energy, liver enzymes normal. So there is hope for all post-transplants! Wishing SVR to all of you!

I am post liver transplant patient since 1997 taking 0.5mg prograf 1.

My current dose is Prograf 3 mg AM/ Prograf 3 mg PM and Rapamune 4 mg AM. The intent is to convert me to 100% Rapamune because of the nephro-toxicity of the Prograf and my young age and because of the anti-cancer properties of Rapamune. Data, while horribly limited, has shown Rapamune's anti-cancer properties have had success against vascular tumors such as mine so EHE, in this case chronic, is part of the cancers Rapamune affects (some cancers it has no effect).

I was taking 2 mg Prograf a day at 5 years out and then they tried to wean me off Prograf completely (2 mg one day then nothing the next and 2 mg the next and nothing the next and so on) and I think I had a minor component of rejection and increased my dose to 3 mg per day, I think I'd ask about the possibility of reducing the Prograf and see how that goes.

Will it come because of the fk prograf? I also fight diabetes,which I never had before the transplant.Now I feel like some junkie on pain killers.What do you think of all this? I`am worried about the future.

This has now got much worse-just walking a few steps or climbing the stairs makes it worse.I am taking 6 mg of prograf daily (3mg in the morning and 3mg in the evening) and 1000mg of microphenolate per day together with 5mg of prednisolone.Do you think my problem is caused by these drugs,or do you think there is more to it?In every other aspect i am fine-my blood results are excellent and my liver function tests are normal.

Based on ALT/AST continuing to rise to the 300/400 level, and not rejection but hcv, what is the general action taken. Do you lower the prograf or cellcept and monitor closely? What is your experience in this scenario as far as the outcome?

Since I was on tacrolimus only(as Mycophenolate causes TLC to go down in two occasion), sirolimus 1mg is started along with reduced tacrolimus(2mg BD, Tac level ~4.5). But the creatinine is still high(1.8). It seems some side effect of Sirolimus is also coming as the TLC is 3400 and platelet is 80,000. What do you suggest to bring creatinine under control? What is the way to determine the exact required dose of tacrolimus?

I am 6 years post liver transplant from genotype 3 Hep C. My doctors want to start treatment to clear the virus. I take Prograf for the liver transplant and I know Naragenin affects the Prograf levels. However will an increase in Prograf (per the transplant team to 2mg 2x daily to 3mg 2x daily) help immediately, or does it take weeks? How soon is a liver biopsy scheduled once the liver enzymes begin to increase??? The Alk phosphate more than doubled and ALT went up 8x more than it was just 4 days prior. AST - Today 43 & Monday 12 (normal range is 7-40) ALT - Today 104 & Monday 45 (normal range 0-45) ALK phosphate - Today 176 & Monday 68 (normal range 40-150) FYI...

If suppressants are at the correct trouph levels, say, Prograf and Rapamycin, what are the next steps - switch suppressants, treat?
