pristiq jaw pain

Ive developed headaches and am severly tired...Ive been off the pristiq for three weeks....should i have tapered off the pristiq first even though they are suppose to be the same??? help please i dont know what to do and i cant take it anymore...

n pristiq before bed...I suddenly stopped taking pristiq cuz I ran out n my phyciatrist doc office was closed..its beeen 2days now that I haven't taken pristiq..my head hurts bad it feels soar n my neck n ears hurt n eyes a bit..I also have a soar throat..could this b cuz im just stressing n stressing or because I stopped my medication pristiq?? I would like help plzz..im scared..

the out come i have general anxiety disorder, depression and bi polar one disorder or so i am told. i was prescribed pristiq and lamictal low low doses....50 mg pristiq 25 mg lamictal which of course i will keep upping and upping and upping until what my brain is totally fried and i am a hollow shell of myself???? the problem is i can't live like i was before and i can't live like i am right now. i have been on this medicine for 4 days, that's it.

I came off Lexapro 20mg (was not working anymore) and my doctor put me on Pristiq 50mg and xanax. The pristiq is working good but after a couple of months now I am not so sure. I take the Xanax at night because it helps me sleep. I am a 45 year old male and suffer from GAD and mild deppresion. Should I try something stronger or seek therapy or what? Has anyone else experienced this or on Pristiq? I feel like I am sputtering out here. Any help very much appreciated.

I still feel all tingly all over, and my jaw hurts, feels like I have been with lock jaw all night. I have zombie eyes today. black bags and black pupils. I am going to give it a week before I go back to my doctor. If this is how this is going to affect me...I have to get something else.

I too have been taking Pristiq for about 2 years. I had severe depression from chronic severe pain which was completely treated with an increase with Effexor. Pristiq is the upgraded version of Effexor and brought my sex drive back. It does give me dreams with conflict, but it has been worth it. Everybody is different with their success and their side effects from anti-depressants. But to have a life again after the severe depression, it is worth so much.

(I never tried a lot of them). Pristiq is a newer upgraded version of it. So I am also taking 50 mg of Pristiq because it restored my sex drive after taking Effexor for many years. It has helped me tremendously with severe depression from my severe disabilities and pain following a major stroke. In my book, it is a miracle drug. But 400 mg is an extremely high dose. The normal dose is 50 mg, but you could possibly increase it to 100 mg IF it hasn't helped you at all after a month.

Effexor and Pristiq are 99% the same drug in terms of active chemical. Pristiq being Desvenlafaxine and Effexor being Venlafaxine. In fact if you look at the molecular chart for the two drugs they even bind the same. Funny thing is you know why Weith pharm released Pristiq? (a drug much like Effexor) Because the 7 year patent on Effexor was close to an end and Weith didn't want to lose market share. In comes Pristiq (Name brand only for another 7 years) It's all about the money.

My partner has just stopped taking Cymbalta (60 mg after 3 + years) and started taking Pristiq (50 mg). She has been on it for 6 days and she has had diarrhea and vomiting for 3 out of those 6 days. Has anyone experienced these types of side effects on Pristiq? I know everyone is different and we're hoping that her body will adjust to it and start working. I started taking an antidepressant (Pristiq) after I quit pain pills. I was extremely depressed. I truly believe that it was the pain pills that directly contributed to my depression. I'm still taking the Pristiq, and it has helped tremendously. All the best to you!

is anyone taking pristiq? my depression is lingering on since my fathers death in sept. the doc added abilify 1mg and i felt better. then i felt the depression slipping back. the abilify was increased to 5mg. but i developed serious side effects. so now i'm on pristiq 50mgs . i've been on lexapro 20mgs for about 5 years. the doc has me down to 10 mgs lexapro for 1 week then stop it completely. my concers are. i know nothing about this med.

AFTER COMING OFF OF ZOLOFT I FEEL NAUSEATED, GET LIGHT-HEADED, AND HAVE ONLY SMOKED THREE CIGARETTES IN TWO FULL DAYS. I have a script for Pristiq..has anyone taken this antidepressant? I read too much and it states on drugs.com that side effects can be nausea (which I am totally suffering from), dizziness and scared to start taking it...have been diagnosed with PTSD, GAD and am a nervous wreck. Would starting Pristiq now cause even more uncomfortable stuff? Doctor does not know about hydro addiction which I stopped 4 days ago...very proud of myself...but feel totally alone...no one in family knows.

hey everyone, today my psychiatrist switched me from 50mg of Pristiq to 37.5mg of Effexor XR, he said the 50mg of Pristiq was too much, anyone ever done this switch or have experiences on the 37.5mg of Effexor?

6 days since i went to the emeregency room for very high blood pressure and i felt i was haveing heart problems im still not okay it has been 7 days off the pristiq and i still take the lorazapam for anaxiety my husband begged me to stay so he could prove he could fix this yet i dont believe him!

When I take Savella and Pristiq together, it works wonders. When both my pain dr and my psychiatrist got together and said I couldn't take them together, I became very depressed after getting off of Savella. I didn't want to kill myself, but I sure didn't want to live. Lyrica put me to sleep in horrible ways, Cymbalta doesn't work for me and anything like Prozac or Lexapro or Zoloft is candy to me. I also take Norco.

I ended up on 100Mgs a day with Pristiq and took it for a good 5 months, it worked ok, but not well enough to cover my symptoms. I then got off Pristiq. (I must tell you that the withdrawl from Pristiq is very strong. MUCH worse than even with Cymbalta or Effexor. My best results were with Effexor XR (a couple years before the Cymbalta and pristiq problem) Effexor XR just worked much better.

m now on Pristiq which is Effexor metabolite. Pristiq is less side effects. Both may work differently. For me, Pristiq work better. Pristiq may also reduce sexual desire but not like Effexor. Also, it work differently from one to another. Google on Pristiq if it available where you live.

m now OFF of any Fibro meds and the only thing I take is blood pressure RX and Pristiq. My New Year Goal is to get off all MEDS - I think I would feel so much better if I could focus on improving my health naturally!

Just hot my thyroid levels at a good level. I switched from pristiq to cymbalta back in November. I am tired ALL the time. More than when my thyroid was out of whack. Could the cymbalta be causing this and if so, what if I took it at night?

Hi. I tried Pristiq in an attempt to help with menopausal symptoms. I was (and am) on Effexor XR, and Pristiq is almost identical to Effexor XR. I think the only difference is in their molecules. I didn't find Pristiq any better (for me) than Effexor XR, so I went back to Effexor XR. I wish you the best of luck with it. I hope it works for you.

ve recently been experiencing panic attacks. My Dr added Pristiq to my treatment. As I understand, Pristiq is a more purified form of Effexor. Since starting on the Pristiq two weeks ago, I have felt like pure poo poo. I went to a GP today, thinking I may have a virus or something. She said she would NEVER prescribe both Effexor and Pristiq together. I'm pretty confused on which doctor I'm supposed to believe. I'm going to try to stop the Pristiq, but am not sure what will happen.

My doctor put me on pristiq and I am afraid to take it. I took Zoloft while pregnant and stopped about a month after my daughter was born. I felt good then. Then my gp put me on Lexapro and that zonked me out. Back to Zoloft again. I feel just like the depression commercials describe. I hate it. I just would like to know if anyone has been taking it and how you feel on it.
