pristiq

603543 tn?1255294450 Ive developed headaches and am severly tired...Ive been off the pristiq for three weeks....should i have tapered off the pristiq first even though they are suppose to be the same??? help please i dont know what to do and i cant take it anymore...
Avatar f tn 1, is pristiq even used for anxiety? i went on the website and read NOTHING that said GAD/panic. 2. my doc said i can just cut my klonopin dosage back to .25 mg am/pm today. no need to taper down since its only been 2 weeks? im not too sure about that? should i just taper down anyways, and if so how do i do it? thanks for any help!
Avatar m tn I took Pristiq for a few months and it didn't do much for me (but, you know, different meds work for different people). My biggest complaint was actually coming off of the Pristiq. I had brain zaps for almost a month afterward (and this was with tapering off) to the point that I was getting nauseated because my vision would blur. I didn't have any side effects while I was on it (other than it doing...nothing).
603543 tn?1255294450 hey man,u just take pristiq 100mg and it will do well for u..when i started taking pristiq 50mg i experience mood swings but pristiq 100mg is doing well for me....it has least side effects....
Avatar f tn I have had the absolute worst anxiety since I was 2 years old. I started taking Lexapro...but that didnt do anything for me. Then I took Pristiq....and my anxiety went from 100% 24/7 to almost 0...in a matter of 2 weeks. I can honestly say that it has saved my life. I take 50mg which I believe is one of the lowest doses and it worked absolute wonders on me. Everyone is different, but i definitely would encourage you to try it.
Avatar f tn Although, my neuro did say that Pristiq would probably help with the fibro symptoms as well and with my headaches. I do have less headaches and feel better mood and concentration wise, but I'm not sure how long I will be able to tolerate not sleeping. I almost hate to stop the pristiq, though, because I really do feel it is helping me....but, maybe there is something better for me.
Avatar f tn I started taking Topamax 1 1/2 years ago for my headaches and to my surprise it help my bulimia significally. I take 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night and has really made a huge difference for ME. Is this normal?? Why is it helping me? I have not said a word to my doctor about it helping the bulimia as she and everyone else is unaware of my problem with bulimia.
7650348 tn?1393006631 I have been off the pristiq for 3 months, my Dr had me take xanax 3 times a day to this day. From the begining I told him I hated pills and did not want to take any of them. Has anyone felt strange feelings and thoughts when discontinuing the pristiq? I cant even explain the uneasy feelings I have. My life is **** now. I look back and see that it was worse on the antidepressants.. but now I am stuck. I have not been the partner I once was.
Avatar f tn I just want to know how long I have to go through these withdrawals????? Pristiq is the only medicine I take (or not take). I now have a new found respect for people who try to come down off of more serious drugs and the withdrawals they suffer through!! Please let me know if you have gone through anything like this and how long this will last!!!!!
7650348 tn?1393006631 i have a question about pristiq. I tapered down off pristiq over a 4 month time frame. I took my last dose about 20 days ago. I was on it for about 2 years too long. Here is a little info: I started taking antidepressants about 3 years ago for anxiety and panic attacks. I had tried two in the past before that (Paxil and lexapro) i was a teen and it made me have what i know now is anxiety. I have a problem with change.
744415 tn?1243953376 Ever since I was a teenager, my left pupil dilates really big, I am now 32 years old. It does it at random times for no reason, or when I drink alcohol, take OTC medicines, and with my anxiety medicine, Pristiq. It blurs my vision and makes it hard to see out of when it dilates and sometimes causes my headaches. I have an astigmatism in my left eye, as well. I went to an eye doctor and had a thorough check up. He sent me to get a cat scan done and they didn't come up with anything.
Avatar m tn I was on Pristiq for about 5 months. I absolutely loved it when I was on it. I was a bit dizzy when I first started taking it, but that went away in no time. I am also on Wellbutrin. My therapist and group therapist find it funny when I talk about how much I love my medicine. I know it sounds weird but to see how I was before taking it and to see how I was just weeks after made a huge difference!
1450085 tn?1298941702 my psychiatrist said the 50mg of Pristiq was too strong for me, so essentially he wanted to keep me on the 'same' medication but at a lower dose.
Avatar m tn If you are having withdrawal effects on Effexor is normal. Pristiq will help you for at least 2 years without night sweats, plotting suicide ways of doing it. Effexor is crap. But fact you are getting off it means that it would be against advice, which say's you are in denial because of the way people treat us on these meds. My useby date at 50 is over because I also now have been diagnosed with ADHD.
6726276 tn?1421126668 m now on Pristiq which is Effexor metabolite. Pristiq is less side effects. Both may work differently. For me, Pristiq work better. Pristiq may also reduce sexual desire but not like Effexor. Also, it work differently from one to another. Google on Pristiq if it available where you live.
455167 tn?1259257871 m taking 50mg pristiq and 75 mg effexor daily for 7 days, and then 50mg pristiq and 37.5mg effexor for the next 7 days. My therapist has suggested this dosing to make the transition gradual. I was just curious as to anyone elses experience with such a change, good or bad.
759115 tn?1256997490 I ended up on 100Mgs a day with Pristiq and took it for a good 5 months, it worked ok, but not well enough to cover my symptoms. I then got off Pristiq. (I must tell you that the withdrawl from Pristiq is very strong. MUCH worse than even with Cymbalta or Effexor. My best results were with Effexor XR (a couple years before the Cymbalta and pristiq problem) Effexor XR just worked much better.
606378 tn?1297304964 I was on a higher than normal dosage of Pristiq for about 8 months. Even at 100Mgs a day (that's high for Pristiq) I never did get full relief from my depression or anxiety. Granted my depression is severe, but this Pristiq just failed to help it. It's called Panvenlafaxine (kind of a sister drug to Effexor) and the two drugs have much the same structure. At one time Effexor at high dosage did help me a lot, but this Pristiq never did a damn thing to help me.
Avatar f tn Trying to treat her anxiety, Dr prescribed Pristiq to which after 4 days her side effets were too much for her, showed a glimpses of calmness however would wake up feeling agitated and out of sorts. It even took 2-3 days to get over withdrawl of pristiq even from such a short period.
Avatar f tn ve been on pristiq and ativan for a Month now for anxiety and panic attacks. Neither seem to help but I am giving it another month just because I have been in very stressful situations lately that just might be too overwhelming for the medication to help.
Avatar f tn I have just started taking Pristiq after being on Effexor-XR for a long time and I'm wondering if anyone out there has had any good experiences with Pristiq, and if so could they please share them?
Avatar f tn I was just wondering how the Pristiq worked for you? I've been on Effexpor XR for around 5 years, but it just doesn't seem to work anymore for me so my dr. put me on Pristiq. I'm a little nervous about trying it, because I've been on Effexor for so long. I've tried getting off of it but the withdrawal effects are horrible. I'm hoping maybe the Pristiq will help with that.
Avatar f tn I've been on Pristiq. My GP gave it to me. I've been on it for about 6 months and it's fine for me. It's most effective dose is 50mg, which is equivalant to 150mg Effexor XR I was told. My psychiatrist switched me to Effexor because he says they are the same and I am tapering off. I did NOT gain weight on Pristiq and I think the sexual side effects weren't as bad. I can tell the difference on Effexor.
Avatar n tn Thanks for all the replies! I hope they go away soon! its been a month like I said. As for getting off it fast and deciding on my own, well I told the doctor and he didnt seem to have a problem with it.
Avatar f tn ve recently been experiencing panic attacks. My Dr added Pristiq to my treatment. As I understand, Pristiq is a more purified form of Effexor. Since starting on the Pristiq two weeks ago, I have felt like pure poo poo. I went to a GP today, thinking I may have a virus or something. She said she would NEVER prescribe both Effexor and Pristiq together. I'm pretty confused on which doctor I'm supposed to believe. I'm going to try to stop the Pristiq, but am not sure what will happen.
Avatar n tn 5mg along with the pristiq for a week, and then just pristiq. I am afraid, seeing how just being off effexor for 7 hrs. put me in E.R. The Doctor said pristiq won't do that if I miss or am late on a dose. He better be right.
Avatar n tn I am a 51 year old female and need to stop pristiq and go back on paxil .
Avatar f tn Hi jethrosmom2784, I'm not familiar with the drug Pristiq. I'm assuming it was your doctor who prescribed Pristiq for you. If it's not working for you, only your doctor can help you wean off this drug safely. As with any drug prescribed by a doctor, it is essential that you not stop this drug by yourself . That can be very dangerous. My best advice is to go back to your famly doctor. Tell him or her that you feel Pristiq is not working for you.
Avatar f tn Just hot my thyroid levels at a good level. I switched from pristiq to cymbalta back in November. I am tired ALL the time. More than when my thyroid was out of whack. Could the cymbalta be causing this and if so, what if I took it at night?
