709686 tn?1277432159 knees, I developed seasonal allergy symptoms, tingling sensation in both hands and feet and back pain. I read on a few websites that the joing pain and tingling sensation could be a symptom of low B12. Anyone else have these experiences? It ***** getting old.
268911 tn?1213744781 If so can you tell me if you are having side effects from them? I currently take one 20mg Prilosec tablet and they seem to make me dizzy and light headed. I also notice pain in my lower abdomin.
Avatar n tn There can be side-effects with the use of PPIs - no drug is without side-effects unfortunately. They can include changes to bone density - more ease of fracture - and anemic states due to loss of B12 uptake. Changes in bowel habits and loose stools can be a result of the use of PPIs. If you cut down on acid, you cut down on the amount of food that's thoroughly digested and able to be absorbed. Those materials will cause changes in the output of the digestive system in a number of ways.
268911 tn?1213744781 I'm new to this forum and was wondering if someone might be able to tell me if abdominal pain, constipation and gas are side effects of PPI's. My neighbor is a doctor and prescribed me prevacid, I took them for 2 weeks, and began to notice these problems. I told him this and his response was "Prevacid does not have those side efffects." but when I search "Prevacid side effects" these symptoms show up on every page. ANy direction woudl be appreciated.
Avatar f tn There are a lot of side-effects when PPIs are taken. Constipation and diarrhea can be two of them.

568812 tn?1379165794 Hi i am on 40mg of Omeprazole for acid reflux. Has anyone here had side effects from it like loose stools? For the past two weeks or so my bowel movements have been rather odd...loose in the morning but ok towards the end of the day...no blood, but causing soreness around my anus afterwards....
Avatar f tn and found a Mayo Clinic article which stated that not only Prevacid, but Prilosec, and the other PPI drugs could in certain people cause severe colitis lasting for weeks. Different people have different side effects, some people have no side effects to the the same drug.
Avatar m tn I stopped cold turkey with no side effects. Since then I have come accross an oil (SIberian extravirgin Pin Nut oil). It comes from russia and is used for gastritis and ulcers. It is incredible. I have no pain and can eat many things I couldn't eat before. Here is the web site. Good Luck. http://www.siberiantigernaturals.com/peptic5.
581954 tn?1223391496 m not really sure of the side effects of Omeprazole (Prilosec). But I do know you might be able to find some info on it in the Health Pages Tab. Were you tested for Thyroid problems? And I'm not talking about them just pulling a TSH value on you. You would need FreeT3 and FreeT4 values for it to be sufficient info to see if you have a Thyroid issue. The fatigue, light headedness, nausea, and heart burn/ GERD are all symptoms of Thyroid issues.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else had these side effects from Lex? Anyone been on Lex for awile with no side effects, only to have them develop later? Don't side effects happen in the beginning only?
709686 tn?1277432159 I understand that we all can experience different side effects to certain meds but was hoping someone could tell me what, if any, side effects they experienced while taking Prilosec or Zegerid. Both meds are basically Omeprazole. I also noticed that, in my opinion, my doctor had me on WAY TOO MUCH. I was prescribed 40mg twice a day..EVERY DAY! I've seen that the most common script is written for 20mg a day for two weeks.
1387175 tn?1326400997 Saw an endo doc and she told me to not take the Nexium or Omeprazole (Prilosec) due to the possible side effects. Called my doc the other day because I have had stomach pain and feeling of nausea. He tells me to take the Omeprazole!!! Next day, no better so asked the pharmacist if I could take it 3 times a day instead of twice. He told me I was already on twice the dose and should only be taking it once a day (20 mg).
Avatar n tn hi there I have a question I am on prilosec to treat an ulcer and I have been having horrible back pain and chest pain since taking it . have you experienced anything like this ?
Avatar f tn Well, sometimes it can be tricky to differentiate what is going on. However, you have had follow up and testing for heart health. Gerd can indeed cause all of these symptoms including chest pain. What treatment for Gerd do they have you on?
Avatar n tn today, i had a severe pain on the left side of my chest. like in my left breast, extending towards the side and back. it's constant pain and i feel like vomiting a bit because of that pain. it got so severe that i had to lie down and then it felt a bit better but it's still throbbing. i recently got put on antibiotics (azithromycin) for a throat infection, but these pains are not a side effect.
Avatar m tn and even some random kidney area dicomfort and testicle pain on the 13th day I looked up on the internet that kidney and testicle pain were rare side effects of prilosec OTC. so i stopped use right away. Ever since i started taking prilosec my abdominal area has had minor discomfort that would come and go through out the day even when i stopped taking it. And every time I smoked weed the pain would get magnified the entire high.
Avatar n tn I feel straight up like I have a demon inside me pushing acid and food to the edge of my throat. I feel like I'm choking to death, seriously! Does it get better after taking the PPI's (Omeprazole)? I am against taking any kind of medication and I have refrained from taking medication for years for such things as headaches, or any type of aches or pain but this seems to me life or death. I am seriously choking when I lay down.
Avatar f tn t have any side effects. Side effects of thyroid meds are generally related to over- or under-medication. Some people do have sensitivity to the fillers in the various tablets.

It happens every day at least 5-10 times aa day and may have nothing todo with my migraines, but it is very uncomfortable and frustrating. Just now, it happened in my right hand and when I tried to stretch my thumb out it wouldnt stretch... kind of hard to explain. It felt almost heavy like it was to heavy to lift.
Avatar m tn While on prilosec i started getting some of the rare side effects such as kidney and testicular pain. So i stopped using prilosec. Then I started noticing I had some abdominal pain I would say my intestine area. A mild burning that would come and go. I also had some burning in my stomach aswell. Well one night it felt like my stomach exploded so i went to the ER. Then took xrays and blood test and found nothing and told me to see my doctor in 3 days if i still had some pain. So i did.

Avatar m tn Both the medication with give almost equal amount of pain relief though meloxicam is associated with fewer side effects as compared to ibuprofen. Though pain relief may be immediate, anti-inflammatory action may take a few days to build up. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn ve had gastritis many times and thought I was having another episode of that. Things just got worse and I started having pain in my side below my ribs. When I lay down I can feel gurgling. I had my gallbladder removed 10 years ago so I know it's not the problem. Since I was not getting better I did see my Dr. She recommended Prilosec. I had already been taking it for 3 weeks with no changes. A few days after seeing her I was hurting so bad my husband forced me to go to the hospital.
