My doctor just prescribed me Prilosec for my heartburn. Has anyone else taken this? Im just a little worried to take medication while pregnant .

The doctor wound up having me take Prilosec OTC. It was the only thing that worked for me. My daughter suffered from horrible acid reflux from birth until she outgrew it at 18 months. I know genetics play a huge role in acid reflux...but I always wondered if having to use Prilosec during pregnancy caused part of my daughter's reflux? I am only 12 weeks and already have heartburn...I'm suffering but scared to even use Tums!

Every time I lay down I get reallllly bad heartburn. The only kind of medicine we have for heartburn is prilosec. Does anyone know if it's okay to take?

my doctor will not let off prilosec i am scared i been on this medicine to long i heard alot of bad things if you take it long time you can get esophaus cancer .

I'm taking omeprazole(prilosec) and have been since I was about 16weeks I couldn't eat or drink even water it was so bad I didn't wanna take any medicine either but it was so bad and the Dr assured me it was safe.

I am on Nexium and it has done nothing. I still feel the same. Doc just told me to try Prilosec OTC so I started that today. The past few days I've been starting to get nausea in patches throughout the day. For example, today i've had it steady all day, with it getting worse at certain times. Please help!

How long can you take Prilosec? That is the only medicine that is working but it says only for 14 days. But when I quit taking it for a few days the symptoms reappear. Is there anything else that would help?

I have been having some GI issues for almost 2 months now and was first diagnosed with Gastritis. For the Gastritis I was given 15 days worth of Prilosec. While on the Prilosec (and before) I had diarrhea and loose stools every day. Being as I was having that before, I never attributed it to the Prilosec but now I'm questioning whether or not the Prilosec contributed to the loose bowel movements as I am now back on Prilosec and am having loose stools once again.

Tonight, about 45 minutes ago, I felt like someone was taking my stomach and intestines and twisting them in a knot and then I became nauseated. I took a Prilosec and some Gas X. So yesterday I had some campbells chicken and rice soup and a grilled cheese around 3pm, then at work I had half a stromboli at around 9pm. I took my Prilosec before my lunch and the tylenol allergy around 5pm. I had an episode of diareah just before dinner, then about 30 minutes after I ate the stromboli I started with persistant diareah and vomitting that has lasted through the night. I suffered from insomnia all night long running back and forth to the bathroom every 30 minutes.

I'm 32 weeks and have been having the worst acid reflux and heart burn. I told my Midwife and she said Prilosec I think or it could've been Pepcid. I forgot and am not sure which one. Does anyone know?

I have had heartburn constant for the past 3-4 days straight, from the time I wake up til when I go to bed, just worse when I eat. I can drink water and get it! I have actually been on some form of reflux med for a bit longer than 5yrs and started with Prilosec OTC, then prescription Prilosec, Nexium, Aciphex, and briefly Prevacid. These days I tend to take whatever I have in my medicine cabinet (Aciphex or Prevacid) twice a day, max dosage, and occasionally a tagamet to help out. I have a hiatial hernia that is going to be fixed soon so I am hoping to get off the meds and that the side effects will eventually go away...I hope.
