prilosec kids

Is it okay to take Prilosec? They said Zantac was okay, but not to take Prevacid. I bought Prilosec and want your opinions on it.

hey thank you for your time. i take prilosec everyday cant go with out it i have reflux really bad is the a bad thing for my stomack will it cause problems down the road been on it for at least 2-3 years do come off of it now and than take zanta for a week but it not as good.

I have been having some GI issues for almost 2 months now and was first diagnosed with Gastritis. For the Gastritis I was given 15 days worth of Prilosec. While on the Prilosec (and before) I had diarrhea and loose stools every day. Being as I was having that before, I never attributed it to the Prilosec but now I'm questioning whether or not the Prilosec contributed to the loose bowel movements as I am now back on Prilosec and am having loose stools once again.

- just nervous about driving- although it happens infrequently I worry for my kids and others driving- I am starting on Prilosec again and have a Dr. appt tomorrow. But I agree - so close to the heart it is scarey and can easily trigger a panic attack- also no fun!

and I was [[[ shocked ]]] at that .. it retails for over $300 /month!!! So why did they take Prevacid Packets off the shelf I ask .. grrrrrrrrrrr .. my co pay was $35/mo! It is helpful to have a quick melt or packet to mix for kids who aren't able to swallow a pill .. and the taste for an older child is awful if compounded (tastes like salt even with flavor bcz of the saccharine like products in it). Just was curious.

The only problems I had was keeping the patch on completely. It is almost impossible for it to fall off on it's own. I used tegaderm ( a clear medical tape) overthe patch to hold it on. I wouldn't worry about the kids and the patch, just be responsible and no problems!!! Ask for methadone instead. It's a great long-acting pain releiver (not just for addicts). I think it's a great alternative .

Ok... I am 41 and have had this stabbing pain under my left rib cage accompanied by burping, mostly at night for about 11 years now. The first time it happened it woke me out of a dead sleep and I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to the emergancy room and they said I had pleurisy. So months would go by and then I'd have another attack and this went on for years until I after taking some ibuprofen I got really bad heartburn.

Was put on prilosec which helped with the flutters. Two years have passed and i have not taken prilosec except for the 3 months after the episode 2 years ago. The other day I was driving and the same thing happened again - tightening or flutter midchest and throat and the fading feeling like i am going to pass out but cough and don't- my stomach had been upset for days prior AND i was on my period(the last episode happend right after my period ended).

Besides the cost, is their truly a difference between Nexim and Prilosec. The active components in Nexium are esomprazole magnesium and in Prilosec are Omeprazole Magnesium. Also, Nexium comes in 20 mg and 40 mg capsules and Prilosec is sold over the counter in 20 mg tablets. My GI switched me to Nexium because Aciphex gave me terrible side effects and Protonix made my water brash symptoms ever worse. I have tried Prilosec in the past and it didn't have much of an effect for me.

Hi, my doc put me on 14d Prevpac treatment today. I've been taking Prilosec during the past month or so to get my symptoms under control. It works quite well for me. I have never taken Prevacid before. Are these two the same thing? Can I use Prilosec to substitute the Prevacid in the pack? I'm scared of stopping Prilosec as my symptoms always get worse when I tried to wean myself off the drug in the past.

I been taken prilosec otc for 14 days for heart burn.its the best med out there.so i finished the 14 day trial and i dont have heart burn any more but i still feel a little small burn so i asked a pharmacyst if its safe to take more than 14 days she said yes it is but the resson the box sais to consult a doctor is to make sure its not self medicated .

Is there an appropriate way of getting off of Prilosec? I have been taking it for almost two months and starting to think that all the symptoms I am experiencing are from the Prilosec. After all GI test have come back normal and all the test from my regular physician have come back normal, I want to quit Prilosec. The first month I was taking one 20mg pill in the morning and one 20mg at night. Now I am only taking one 20mg pill a day. Do I quit cold turkey?

Ulcers in kids are semi rare and mine was only found after many tests and an endoscopy. I just throw that out there. But good news, the prilosec will help with that!! I did drink a liquid that lined my stomach and intestines and my ulcer healed in a week. I would keep your daughter on her multi vitamin but then find a b supplement to add to it. I don't know---- but it has the reputation for helping with nausea. Chrystalized ginger tastes good and also can help.

Anyone with HepC taking 20 mg. of Prilosec? My dr. said ok to take, but I'd feel better if anyone else is/has used it. Either a prescription or OTC.

I have to take Prilosec for another 3 weeks. Any insights or guidance will be appreciated.

my doctor will not let off prilosec i am scared i been on this medicine to long i heard alot of bad things if you take it long time you can get esophaus cancer .

I have been taking Prilosec OTC and my Doctor prescribed Nexium. It seems to me that they are the same, with one being extremely cheaper. I am Beginning my fifth month of pregnancy and I would like to know if it is safe to continue taking prilosec otc.

Mine was too! I was eating at least 8 tums a day until my doctor suggested at my 28 week check up that I take Prilosec until the end of my pregnancy. I was worried at first because I didn't want to take anything that would harm my baby, but she reassured me that Prilosec & Zantac are safe during pregnancy. Zantac will help fight symptoms after the fact for up to 12 hours & Prilosec will stop symptoms before they start all day.

Omg this heartburn indigestion is killing me! Ive taken prilosec and yum...neithers,working...any advice.

I've been taking Prilosec for a month now, it started helping but then stopped. Then when I went to my doctor Thursday, she switched me to Protonix. If they are basically the same, could Protonix work for me if Prilosec OTC didn't? I'd really like to know because I've had this problem for almost 3 months now and I'm tired of eating plain food.

Prilosec made me feel weirded out and almost out of it like depressed... my husband says it turned me into a zombie... it worked wonders for my acid reflux though.. you defintly have to watch what you eat as well though.. I had an endoscopy as well as a mannometry test done and my lower esophogus is weak... since the prilosec worked but gave me weird side effects my GI dr put me on Aciphex which works just as great and no weird side effects from it.
