Avatar m tn I've been having problems for months. I have been diagnosed with gastritis and gal stones as being the root of the problems. This morning I went to the bathroom and my stool was green and brown in color, but some was coated in a yellow liquid. Should I be concerned? I'm going to the Dr. on Monday, but I was wondering if there was an urgent need to go on in? I'm taking 2 prilosec(20mg) everyday, and last night i took a bentyl(20mg).
Avatar f tn Only thing that works for me is gaviscon liquid form. Ive had a horrendous time with heartburn this pregnancy and have tried everything. ..this is the only thing that works for me...
Avatar f tn s possible that Prilosec can soothe the bladder due to its alkalinity. Liquid aloe can also help - at least, it helps me...
Avatar n tn I have been on the pill form of Paroxetine for over 10 years now and would like to wean off slowly 2-4mgs. at a time using the liquid form. Is it safe? I read in a book on how to get off Paxil that one should not switch. What could be the cons to switching to the liquid form?
Avatar n tn My doctor diagnosed me almost a year ago with "the worst case of acid reflux [she'd] ever seen." Literally, I would drink a glass of water and get reflux issues. I was put on Nexium for a long time, and I have since switched to Prilosec OTC because I ran out of health insurance. It's been about five days on Prilosec but I keep feeling nauseous in the morning after I take it, but it's nothing too bad and it goes away fairly quickly.
868555 tn?1240913586 I was given Gaviscon by a doctor on Friday for the indigestion and I took some just after tea. However There is still a burning/stabbing pain in my chest, and it moved form my ribs earlier. Also sometimes It feels like I have something wet at the back of my throat that isn't saliva. I must say Im worrying a lot about it, and Im also recovering from a particularly nasty dry throat, which I worried a lot about aswell.
Avatar n tn I switched back to Armour (with both T4 and T3) and in two days the reflux was gone, even without taking Prilosec.
Avatar f tn I have a problem with trapped air/gas in my stomach. This most often occurs after I drink any kind of liquid (including water) without eating something, but not always. It does occasionally occur when I eat and drink. But it's not limited to one exclusive type of food or beverage. I get what I call "gurgle burps", where the air gurgles up from my stomach, it can sometimes be quite loud, but it doesn't result in an actual burp.
Avatar f tn I am getting worse, with regards to symptoms from these deficiencies, such as the inability to sleep, horrible skin problems etc. I am getting ready to purchase B 12 in the form of methylcobalamin 5mg lozenges-1 tab, 1-8x daily. My understanding is that given my age of 65 and the low stomach acid secretion, perhaps this form of B 12 would absorb into my system more effectively.? So that is my question I finally got it out. But I knew you needed some background.
296025 tn?1233256719 Prevacid is a Protein Pump Inhibitor (PPI) like Aciphex, Nexium and Prilosec. It's indicated for GERD (chronic acid reflux) and as far as I know has nothing to do with treating Hep C, other than if you happen to have GERD. I believe Prilosec is a generic sold OTC but not 100% sure so speak to your doctor and pharmacist regarding switching off.
Avatar f tn And make sure your supplement is the methylcobalamin form, not the cyanocobalamin form -- the methyl form is much more absorbable. Also, taking a sublingual will absorb better and more quickly, and you can take a whole lot more than 50mcg. I'd also get my B6 levels checked -- B6, folate, and B12 are in a balance in the body, and some of your symptoms could also be caused by problems with B6, either too little or too much.
Avatar n tn It appears that maybe the lack of nicotine has caused some change in your stomach. Ten years ago, I developed a second ulcer, and I have taken one OTC Prilosec a day for 10 years with no problem. Why not try an experiment and take one Prilosec or Prevacid a day for 4 days to learn whether your heartburn has stopped? The stronger pill, Nexium, has just become available OTC and may deserve your consideration.
Avatar f tn What can be done about this constant mucus in my throat. I have no other symptom like allergies or any stomach problems. That is my only problem, except sleep aepna.

Avatar n tn I having been experiencing a very cold sensation after I swallow a cold liquid drink. I have been diagnosed with Acid Reflux from an endoscopy performed in October. I was also told that I have an inflammation. Can this cold sensation be caused by the acid reflux. I also have alot of belching and I also have a small hernia. My doctor said to take the Prilosec for 8 weeks. Any advice would be helpful.
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I am a para-medical PhD student, and I used embalmed cadavers for my research. Yesterday I was dissecting blood vessels in muscle tissues. The vessels did have semi-liquid blood inside them. while dissecting I pricked my finger with the scalpel which had some blood on it. The wound wasn't bad, but still bleeding a little. I squeezed some blood out and washed my finger. I am not sure how well the cadaver is embalmed and I know it has not been screened.
Avatar n tn You can try prilosec which is available at local drug store. Also for sure if this continues, set up an appointment with gastronologist. I certainly am not one to diagnose. However prilosec is very safe OTC medicine. Also be sure to tell your famil doctor asap, best to be cautious. Happy 4th!
4250731 tn?1359154323 Zofran is mostly used for nausea but if its not helping you can try a liquid antacid like maalox, mylanta o rpepcid ac (liquid works better than tablets) hope something helps
1539379 tn?1294332115 I've been on probiotics for over a month now. I've gone though an entire box of prilosec. I've been taking vitamins b complex, d, and fish oil. I've cut back on fats and sugars, no alcohol, no cigars. I've altered my diet to include more vegetables...I eat broccoli all the friggin time. I still have chronic digestive problems.
Avatar f tn The doctor had mentioned Prilosec and another medication as being ok to take, but I forget the other one. Anyways, I went to the store to get the Prilosec and the only thing they have for Prilosec is a 14 day treatment which may not work for 1-4 days. I want something with immediate relief and wondered if the anyone took the other ones like Zantac or whatever else is out there. Tums does NOT work for me. Any input as to what your doctor said was ok, please let me know.
7052683 tn?1392938795 My Bat Mia had some biopsies done and it showed she had a Heliobacter Infection--which is like a developing ulcer in humans. She was give this drug to be taken twice daily, along with Azithromycin, and 1/4 tab of Prilosec. She seems a little lethargic and is under the bed , so I looked up this drug and the comments were very worrisome. I am trying to decide if I want to keep her on it or let the Vet know I want another drug or I will take my chances with the antibiotic only and the Prilosec.
Avatar f tn I take tums and prilosec. My doctor ok'd these.
Avatar m tn I have a question that I have always wondered about Methadone, but never wanted to ask a Dr. LOL. I understand that it comes in pill form and liquid form. What is the difference between the prescribing of it? Such as, why would a Dr. prescribe you the pill form instead of the liquid form, or why would they prescribe the liquid instead of the pill? I understand Hydrocodone comes the same way.
568659 tn?1256139982 I took Prilosec through out my whole pregnancy I had verrrrry badddd heartburn! And I was told to take the same thing, I agree with Latrice414,. My son turned out fine but he did have GERD which he was diagnosed with at 3months so he had to be on Liquid prilosec until he was 1. I wish you the best of luck!
Avatar n tn Well, I should say, unless you use liquid vitamins, but they are seldom all that complete and once in liquid form they are much more prone to rapid oxidation and deterioration, so I personally don't use them.
Avatar f tn My esophagus was pretty burned (was getting heartburn from jello on the clear liquid diet), and they showed signs of inflammation in my small intestine/stomach opening. I've been being really careful to eat regularly, drink more water, but there's no weight loss, no easing of the discomfort. Even fiber powders destroy my insides to a painful degree. Probiotics including kefir & plain old yogurt cause an insane amount of discomfort.
