I also gas up if I get very hungry which makes it hard to eat and get my stomach full, which makes me gas up. I take two generic Prilosec every morning which helps, but I still wake up gassed up. After I get rid of the early morning gas, I belch quite a bit the rest of the day, but at least it doesn't nauseate me. I don't pass much gas, so it all appears to be in my esophagus and stomach. I had my gallbladder removed in 1974.

Maybe some of this is related to fear and anxiety. Since you are having these feelings often now, you could possibly be afraid of embarrassing yourself around others.

I have been having stabbing pains that are in the center of my back and my front right below the rib cage. Sometimes it is at a level 7 and 8. I have been to the ER, after my wife found me crying from the pain, they did a CT which showed my gallbladder slightly enlarged, blood work showed elevated liver. It could be an ucler or a gastritis in that case the pilosec should help within a couple of weeks. I would start taking the prilosec right away unless it is one the interacts with it. I have had acid reflux for 11 years now and has been pretty manageable til recently I have been experiencing excessive burping, heart pain, stomache aches and gas with sometimes painful bowel movements. I was diagnosed months ago with acid reflux and take prilosec which helps. 2 weeks ago I had horrible stomach aches and saw the dr. Since then, I've continued to have horrible gas pains and bowel sounds. She sent me for a Ct thinking it was an intestine inflammation...she found 2 large complex cysts one on each ovary. I had an MRI on Sunday and she called saying they found 2 small simple cysts on the left ovary and nothing on the right. I'm so confused!

I actually saw my Ob yesterday and he told me I could use gas x pepcid prilosec to help the pain from the bubbles. I must admit I took gas x this morning and don't feel as bad.

The medications I've been prescribed have varied from amoxicillin to Prilosec and dicyclomine. I don't believe any of these have worked but what I have done is tried to eat healthier. Typically at night when I try to sleep my symptoms become worse, also after eating I no longer immediately lay down. dazy401, I too am experiencing the same problem. Maybe we can shed some light on eachother's situation. Here's how mine started and where I am today. BTW, I have no history of any health problems. Out of the blue 2 wks ago, I started getting bloated and short of breath. It continued until it got worse 3 days later when I started to panic because I couldn't breath without taking a deep breath every few seconds. Chest X-Ray, EKG and D-Dimer tests all came back negative.

Tonight, about 45 minutes ago, I felt like someone was taking my stomach and intestines and twisting them in a knot and then I became nauseated. I took a Prilosec and some Gas X. I ate the same thing the rest of the family ate for supper and they are fine. I have 2 questions. Could this be related to the Cymbalta? I absolutely have a phobia to throwing up. My mom has Ondansetron that she takes when she is nauseated.

I been taken prilosec otc for 14 days for heart burn.its the best med out there.so i finished the 14 day trial and i dont have heart burn any more but i still feel a little small burn so i asked a pharmacyst if its safe to take more than 14 days she said yes it is but the resson the box sais to consult a doctor is to make sure its not self medicated .

I mainly have the constipation now...as i eat more fiber. I am taking prilosec, temazepam for sleep if needed, and belladona-phenobarbit, for gas amd cramping, which i am affraid to take. So i don't take it unless really needed. I get alot of acid buildup but am trying to drink decaf coffee only. I have had slip ups. I try to take a tylenol for sleep and my klonopin at night. .1mg at night of klonopin and .5 in am's. I was asked to ask you your input in these medicines.

I'm new to this forum and was wondering if someone might be able to tell me if abdominal pain, constipation and gas are side effects of PPI's. My neighbor is a doctor and prescribed me prevacid, I took them for 2 weeks, and began to notice these problems. I told him this and his response was "Prevacid does not have those side efffects." but when I search "Prevacid side effects" these symptoms show up on every page. ANy direction woudl be appreciated.

You said you have been on prilosec for 15 yrs and also take metforminl. The info I read about prilosec suggested that it should only be taken short term. That it wasn't for long term use. Some possible side effects from Prilosec were: headache, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and gas. Also, with the metformin...under the "less serious" side effects these were listed: mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gas and stomach pain.

I completed my antibiotics and have been taking Prilosec since. The pain is slightly better...less intense gnawing pain and my stomach is less tender to the touch. But I'm still having GERD symptoms - burning abdomen, stomach tender to the touch when poked, acid reflux, lump in throat, burning up back of throat, excessive belching and gas..I've also had diarrhea since the symptoms started almost a year ago. I'm worrying that it's gastric cancer.

I have started taking the Prilosec 20 mg before breakfast and dinner. Now, I am not getting any heart burn sensations. But, I do get LOTS of burps in a day. Its more than 100 per day!!! Sometimes, I will not be able to burp at all and lot of discomfort. Especially, when I laying down, I CANT burp. I have to get up or sit to burp. During the sleep, I don't know what happens(of course, lot of discomfort through out night). But, when I get up in the morning, I get too many burps.

I do suffer from GERD and take 40mg of prilosec and 150 mg of Zantac as needed up to 2xs daily. I do have trapped gas in my chest a good bit and use gas-x for it. I did have upper gi series that came back unremarkable outside of fatty liver. Blood work was normal outside of slightly elevated ast/alt, hep was negative. My question is two fold.....could this just be a gallbladder attack and if so will it pass on its own? Thanks for your time and insight.
