prilosec dosage infants

Is it safe to take 60mg of prevacid in the morning and 20 mg of prilosec in the evening?

My 2 month old baby just had her shots yesterday and she was in a little pain so I gave her some infants Motrin because I didnt have any Tylenol and it was late at night then I was told by a few friends that u don't give Motrin til after 6 months now I'm a lil worried I mean she seems to be fine to me she's just sleeping a lil more should be worried or is it ok to give Motrin I followed the weight/dosage chart perfectly.

Prilosec and Nexium is for heartburn. Prilosec is taken over a 14 day period and can only be taken every 4 months. Not sure about dosing for Nexium but Prilosec is often prescribed because it is over the counter.

Has anyone heard that the dosage is based on your weight? My numbers are perfect, according to the doctor, however, I am always tired, have reflux problems that the gastro doesn't understand why, I am constantly having hard stools, not gaining or losing weight, and getting very frustrated. I keep thinking I need my dosage raised but no one will listen to me. Am I thinking the right way or not? Help! Need your advise.

The prilosec OTC may not be the same dosage or strength a Dr might RX. Ask ur pharmacist what u may do as far as dosage. Don't forget dairy can slow ur LES..... and that bacteria can cause alot of these issues too...ask to be checked for H.Pylori.

I would recommend empiric treatment with an over-the-counter antacids such as Prilosec or Zantac. If you have not had laryngoscopy by an ENT, this would also be helpful in such an evaluation.

My new gastroenterologist just asked my daughter & I to cut back on our meds to once per day. It is his opinion that Nexium & Prilosec can both cause a lot of problems if taken long term at higher doses & he asked us to try taking them once per day to see if one dose per day would control our symptoms. As with any medication, he believes that it is best to take the smallest dose possible in order to solve the problem.

I have had this for 2 months now. I have taken Prilosec and Pecid Complete and even Benedryl thinking it might be an allergic reaction, but nothing helps. Please can you give me something to go on.

I have actually been on some form of reflux med for a bit longer than 5yrs and started with Prilosec OTC, then prescription Prilosec, Nexium, Aciphex, and briefly Prevacid. These days I tend to take whatever I have in my medicine cabinet (Aciphex or Prevacid) twice a day, max dosage, and occasionally a tagamet to help out. I have a hiatial hernia that is going to be fixed soon so I am hoping to get off the meds and that the side effects will eventually go away...I hope.

Please do your research on methadone before going that route. I have seen so many who regret it. I'm not sure how old you are but keeping at the lowest dosages is really important if you're young. Tolerance happens and it's likely you'll have to up your dosage or change meds at times but trying to keep to lowest dosage you can is in your own best interest. There are other long-acting medications that may not cause trouble with your stomach.

I was also told to take the Synthroid in the am and Prilosec in pm. I had not considered Prilosec as a possible reason, but I had noticed that my temp. had gone down and I felt the need for more thyroid. When I understood the need to check free T3 and the doctor checked it, I found that I was not converting T4 to T3 very well. So starting 4 days ago, I was switched to a T4/T3 type of med.---Armour thyroid. I felt better after the very first day and now I feel great.

Right about the time I started the Prilosec I was leveling out on my dosage and the burning tongue went away. About 6 weeks ago I stopped taking the Prilosec because I just didn't think I had acid reflux and it was making me nauseated. The burning tongue didn't come back. About 2 weeks later (about 4 weeks ago) my Synthroid dosage was adjusted because I was very hyper and not feeling so great. Sure enough, about a week ago my burning tongue/dry mouth came back tenfold.

My doctor did some blood work but that's it..I asked about seeing a GI doc but he said it wasn't necessary...I was on prilosec for awhile which seemed to help but couldn't afford co pay so I stopped taking it and it happened again..I want to know 100% what's wrong with me..

Sometime I take double dosage of prilosec to try and help but most the prilosec makes stomach feel worse. I cant seem to get this under control at all. It is becoming disruptive everyday now. Any help would be appreciated. Thank-you.

Is it okay to take Prilosec? They said Zantac was okay, but not to take Prevacid. I bought Prilosec and want your opinions on it.

hey thank you for your time. i take prilosec everyday cant go with out it i have reflux really bad is the a bad thing for my stomack will it cause problems down the road been on it for at least 2-3 years do come off of it now and than take zanta for a week but it not as good.

I have been having some GI issues for almost 2 months now and was first diagnosed with Gastritis. For the Gastritis I was given 15 days worth of Prilosec. While on the Prilosec (and before) I had diarrhea and loose stools every day. Being as I was having that before, I never attributed it to the Prilosec but now I'm questioning whether or not the Prilosec contributed to the loose bowel movements as I am now back on Prilosec and am having loose stools once again.

Holter monitor says nothing special wrong. Could it be anxiety? Could it be Barrets? Does that cause heart pounding?
