Avatar f tn I have been having some GI issues for almost 2 months now and was first diagnosed with Gastritis. For the Gastritis I was given 15 days worth of Prilosec. While on the Prilosec (and before) I had diarrhea and loose stools every day. Being as I was having that before, I never attributed it to the Prilosec but now I'm questioning whether or not the Prilosec contributed to the loose bowel movements as I am now back on Prilosec and am having loose stools once again.
Avatar n tn So I don't know where to begin... I guess it all started with OD'ing on some Coriciden Cough and Cold, and ever since then all this weird stuff has been happening with my stomach, and anxiety and depression. I've always pretty much had depression, but now I have anxiety with it since the OD, and I've been having panic attacks. I've just been feeling miserable. I was diagnosed with GERD, and they gave me medication, but nothing helps. No food I eat makes it worse or better.
Avatar n tn prilosec, nexium) is magnesium deficiency. Constipation, anxiety, depression, IBS are just a few of the many symptoms of magnesium deficiency. Check out the article: How your antacid drug is making you sick (Part A) by Chris Kresser.
Avatar n tn Besides the cost, is their truly a difference between Nexim and Prilosec. The active components in Nexium are esomprazole magnesium and in Prilosec are Omeprazole Magnesium. Also, Nexium comes in 20 mg and 40 mg capsules and Prilosec is sold over the counter in 20 mg tablets. My GI switched me to Nexium because Aciphex gave me terrible side effects and Protonix made my water brash symptoms ever worse. I have tried Prilosec in the past and it didn't have much of an effect for me.
1806721 tn?1554333407 Hi, my doc put me on 14d Prevpac treatment today. I've been taking Prilosec during the past month or so to get my symptoms under control. It works quite well for me. I have never taken Prevacid before. Are these two the same thing? Can I use Prilosec to substitute the Prevacid in the pack? I'm scared of stopping Prilosec as my symptoms always get worse when I tried to wean myself off the drug in the past.

Avatar m tn Is there an appropriate way of getting off of Prilosec? I have been taking it for almost two months and starting to think that all the symptoms I am experiencing are from the Prilosec. After all GI test have come back normal and all the test from my regular physician have come back normal, I want to quit Prilosec. The first month I was taking one 20mg pill in the morning and one 20mg at night. Now I am only taking one 20mg pill a day. Do I quit cold turkey?
Avatar f tn Noo ask ur doctor first!!
Avatar f tn Which they called heartburn, I have had for years. I was permanently put on Prilosec. As a solution to the nausea, they increased my prilosec. In March 2014 I had my gallbladder removed and that got rid of some abdomonal pain. Nausea, fatigue and chest pain stayed. The fatigue is overwhelming at times. I was given prescription Aleve for chest pain, which my doctor called costocondritis.
715068 tn?1392933532 ve seen him have to stop eating because he feels like he is choking. You should try him on Prilosec which is sold over-the-counter and see if he improves. This is the only thing that has helped my husband. He also wants to avoid spicy foods and keep his head elevated at night . Anxiety and depression can cause this as well, so he may have developed some anxiety over getting sick again. It's good that he is seeing a doctor and make sure he stays well hydrated.
Avatar f tn Anyone with HepC taking 20 mg. of Prilosec? My dr. said ok to take, but I'd feel better if anyone else is/has used it. Either a prescription or OTC.
Avatar f tn Hello, my worst symptom is almost constant nausea- ranges from mild to severe, no vomiting, normal bowel movements.
454221 tn?1259445739 t know the effects of take prilosec now? Does anyone know about prilosec and pregnancy? Is it safe to take or is there something else out there better. Avatar m tn Now I am worried and trying to understand if the Prilosec caused it. The blood pressure is also higher especially the systolic at 140 to 150. Is Prilosec known to have an effect directly on urine albumin or indirectly through blood pressure? I have read warnings about kidney disease being associated with the long term use of PPIs. I have to take Prilosec for another 3 weeks. Any insights or guidance will be appreciated.

Avatar f tn It seems like I have a lot of prescriptions. Lexapro, Valtrex, Prilosec, daily; Spirolact, (diurectic); Topral XL; I just ran out of my prescription for Campral, (to re-fill or not?); some kind of antihistemine..can't recall the name, a topical ointment for Rosecea....just got prescribed ZOCOR for cholesterol (haven't picked up yet...). The thing is, I'd like to have beer or wine, if I could... Oh I don't know. I have a hx of depression and alcoholism, too.

Avatar f tn I was given Paroxetine for depression/anxiety over a year ago. I didn't take it however. Tried talk therapy for 6 weeks instead. I feel now, however, that I need to go on meds. I was just wondering if someone can tell me what to expect after taking paroxetine. Does it really work? How long does it take it to work? And are there any noticeable changes at all the first few weeks. Before, I did take one pill when I was given the meds.
Avatar n tn The worst of the withdrawals seem to be over with the exception of no motivation to accomplish the simplest of tasks, off/on depression and stomach upset (burning/nausea, lost 7 lbs. no appetite, but force myself to eat). Does anyone have any experience with the above symptoms I am still having and whether or not they go away. I want to get back to my normal self, but am having a hard time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Mine was too! I was eating at least 8 tums a day until my doctor suggested at my 28 week check up that I take Prilosec until the end of my pregnancy. I was worried at first because I didn't want to take anything that would harm my baby, but she reassured me that Prilosec & Zantac are safe during pregnancy. Zantac will help fight symptoms after the fact for up to 12 hours & Prilosec will stop symptoms before they start all day.
