I have just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, my level was just under 10. One of my symptoms that told me to have this level checked was the bloating in my abdomen. In the morning my pants fit but by the afternoon it hurts to button them. I was already on a diet and exercise regimen which I lost weight in my legs but nothing in the stomach. I have been on synthroid for 1 week, my endo doesn't think the bloating in my stomach has anything to do with the thyroid. Is he right?
I Started off with allot of bloating and lots of discomfort / pressure in the middle to upper abdomen. I also was having pain around both sides of my kidney area and went around to my lower and mid back. I have had all this disomfort going on for about 3 months now. I am a big guy and i am 43 years of age. I am on lots of medication. Quinaprill, lipitor,medformin, klonopin, prozac, singluair, albuterol inhaler, prilosec.
t eat fast food, fry foods and avoid red meats because they are hard to digest, I have also noticed that lactose is not my best fried. But the gasses, bloating feeling does not goes away, sometimes it wakes me up in the middle of the night and make it very hard to go back to sleep.
The most horrible was the extreme bloating to the point of pain. I also experienced muscle spasms, eye twitching, flushing, and general unwell / nausea sickness. All of those were constant and more recently headaches started. I have been on 20mg once a day and as I mentioned it was for about 5 weeks. I have stopped the Prilosec my question is will everything back to normal and the bloating go away? If so how long until my system goes back to functioning as it did prior to the meds?
I have been having symptoms for about a year now. It all started with this pain in my upper middle chest, under breastbone that just wouldnt go away. It was a dull type of pain. I also developed severe bloating where I would look pregnant at times. Initially I was dx'ed with gastritits based on symptoms alone, and my family dr. put me on generic of Prilosec once daily. After over a month, nothing changed, symptoms were still the same so he bumped me up to two a day.
I took 2 types of antibiotics along with Prilosec. After this the gnawing pain that i felt below my ribcage was gone but i was left with constipation, bloating, gas, and just total stomach chaos. I have been trying to relieve these symptoms by using every single thing almost that is over the counter.Nothing seems to work.. I went to the doctor and discussed my symptoms and she simply advised me to change my diet.. I did, i also exercise 3-4 times a week, and drink a lot of water..
Hi, I have had acid reflux for years. Have taken multiple meds (prilosec, prevacid, protonix, etc.) and the all seem to work for awhile then i need to switch. Actually don't have much heartburn but bloating, burping, gassy, etc. Now have a very sour taste in mouth all the time. Am on 20 mg prilosec and have stepped it up to 2 a day. seems like it's getting worse. definitely not getting better. feel sick alot. have a doctor's appt.
I also have a sensation of mild abdominal bloating and just general abdominal discomfort a lot of the times. I've have a small right inguinal hernia. A small umbilical hernia recently appeared also a few months ago, which grew a little. I have GERD and have been taking Prilosec for a month, after experiencing burning right upper quadrant pain, which was not fully relived by TUMS tablets; the Prilosec took the burning sensation away.
used in the offbrand PPI causing side effects, so I went back to name brand Prilosec. 1.5 weeks after starting Prilosec again, I have had three days of massive pain and loose stools. I am starting to wonder if the PPI is doing more bad that good. I eat a low fat, vegetable-rich diet ALWAYS, and I eat bland foods when I am not feeling well, but not on a regular basis. Ironically, white wine makes my stomach feel much better (every time), as does lying ON my stomach.

Just last night I think I experienced Heartburn for the first time and it was while I was eating. It seemed to last for about two hours. I looked on the web because I was freaking out because I had this sharp pain in my chest. So, I tried drinking a cup of milk, which didn't seem to help. Eventually it went away. I seemed to feel fine for the most of the day but I've felt like my stomach was bloated.
I feel bloating sometimes, and sometimes not, yesterday the pain was gone completely and everything appeared to be normal. Today i started having heavy breathing problems again and a heavy heartburn sensation in the middle of the sternum, as of right now it is only a heavy burning sensation in the middle of the sternum.
My daughter has been having similar symptoms for the past 10 years on and off and has been tested for the cyst, had endoscopies and scans and tried meds and still has the same symptoms with diahrea pain bloating,. is it possible to inherit the symptoms and not have the cyst? Or did we miss something on the scans and scope studies she had.
I went back to my doctor and he told me that I could have an ulcer, so he gave me some prilosec that I am about to take for the first time on monday, I am waiting because I just started some other medication a couple of days ago and I do not want to overload my body.
Does this sound like an ulcer? I am also dealing with constipation and am currently taking Miralax twice a day to go in the morning.
I asked the Dr. recently about the fact that I often feel overly full especially after eating full meals but other times as well and need to burp--sometimes excusing myself to make myself burp. This usually helps a lot. Sometimes I also experience bloating but it's hard to pinpoint exactly what brings it on. A hida scan showed my gall bladder was less than 10% functioning and an endoscopy found a hiatal hernia. For now because I have no pain, nausea, etc.
Hi I'm a 15 year old female. I'd consider myself quite active (I play soccer nearly everyday). But the past few months I've experienced a tightness in my chest and throat when exercising. My doctor thought it may be asthma, so I used inhalers for awhile, but we ran more tests and discovered the inhalers have not helped. I was sent to get my heart checked out, but everything was normal. I was told I have low blood pressure so I was recommended to take salt tablets before exercise.
Eventually just drinking a glass of water would cause a half an hour of bloating and belching. This eventually got worse about 1.5 years ago when on top of the bloating I had acid reflux from whatever I ate or drank. I got this under control with prilosec and took it for about 4-5 months. I tried coming off of it and after a few weeks the heartburn was back with a vengeance and I had a new symptom. Ectopic beats happening a lot, especially at night.
I have been having issues for the last few months, the symptoms are, bloating at night, nausea and dry heaving. Lately i have been having burning and pain right below my rib cage at my stomach. But when i usually get sick, i get sick for the whole day after and barely can eat anything. I have been told i was constipated and it could be ibs-c. I was given lactulose and take that every few days with water, clear out and go about my day. But sometimes i still get sick even if i do clear out.
I have had chronic bloating for about 5 straight months now. I wake up with it, and it gets worse throughout the day. I eat healthy exercise daily (running, spinning). I have had an endoscopy, colonoscopy, small bowel follow through, CT Scan, Ultrasound internal and external. I've been on antibiotics, pro/prebiotics, tried eliminating gluten, dairy, nuts ect at different times nothing is working.
The medications I've been prescribed have varied from amoxicillin to Prilosec and dicyclomine. I don't believe any of these have worked but what I have done is tried to eat healthier. Typically at night when I try to sleep my symptoms become worse, also after eating I no longer immediately lay down. My bowel habits have also changed but I still use the bathroom everyday without problems.
