Avatar f tn I have acid reflux, ibs, and ulcerative colitis. Every time I try to eat I get severely nauseous and bloated. I may eat a few bites of food a day. I'm not loosing wait so that doesn't worry me. I want to eat, but even the smell of food makes me sick. What can I do? Any help at all would be appreciated. I also take omprezole 40mg in the am and probiotics in the afternoon along with a handful of other medicine for varying other health issues.
467797 tn?1216211257 I have Ulcerative colitis (for 21 years) acid reflux, Diverticular disease and IBS. I've been on Remicade for 1 1/2 years and Colazal for 6 years to control my UC and Prilosec for my acid reflux. In the past I would have sporadic bouts of acidic yellow/green diarrhea but it never last long nor did I have any unusual symptoms associated with it. I've mentioned it to my GI but he never said much about it.
483733 tn?1326798446 I just find it frustrating. There is a big difference between someone with Crohn's or Colitis and GERD. Thanks for the info on the Crohn's community but I am an ulcerative colitis survivor and my son is now having active disease and really need support in that area. It would be helpful if we could even divide the forum between intestinal issues and non-instestinal.
Avatar m tn I would say average in physical activity. I was diagnose with severe Ulcerative Colitis about a year ago. and we are still working with different types of meds and each cause their own issues. Sad to say, when you find out what the issues are, doesn't mean they will be fixed. But if you do have a types of Bowel disease, you start to learn alot about yourself and what you can deal with. and in some cases, the first meds ever given work great.

Avatar n tn I would NOT recommend you start smoking again as there are many other diseases and cancers caused by smoking. I also had ulcerative colitis, and I never smoked. You can read more about it in my blog.
Avatar f tn Inflammatory diseases of the colon which can present as UC include Crohn’s disease, ischemic colitis, radiation colitis, eosinophilic colitis, colorectal cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, and allergic reactions to medications such as mesalamine products, NSAIDs, and antibiotics.

Avatar f tn I suffer from ulcerative colitis and now diagnosed with superficial bladder cancer (Ta, low grade). My bladder was perforated during tumor removal (TURBT) resulting in colitis flare up and bowels shutting down after exposure to leakage. Now offered biological therapy (BCG) treatment and worried that the expected stimulated immune response will trigger another colitis "attack". Thank you.
Avatar m tn I have been suffering from chronic ulcerative colitis (UC) over the last twenty years. I’m in control of it and lead almost a normal life. I’m currently on 3 grams of Rafassal (Mesalazine) and 200 mg of Imuran (Azathioprine). My last colonoscopy revealed multiple areas suspicious of low grade dysplasia (LGD) in sigmoid colon and recotoanal junction. There is also doubt they might be high grade dysplasia (HGD). My doctor advised that these LGDs be removed.
Avatar m tn s no known cure for ulcerative colitis, but therapies are available that may dramatically reduce the signs and symptoms of ulcerative colitis and even bring about a long-term remission. Organizations such as the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America have chapters across the country to provide information and access to support groups. You can check with your doctor and join these groups. Regards.
Avatar f tn So, ulcerative colitis can cause that. It's most likely pus if it is yellow. To me this sounds like complications of your IBS or ulcerative colitis. Have you started the medication yet? Is it helping?
Avatar m tn Also, irritable bowel conditions like IBS, Crohn’s ulcerative colitis and celiac disease, which can cause similar symptoms can cause bleeding into the gut which is not visible to naked eye. So, an occult stool test should be done apart from stool routine and microscopic for ova and cysts of parasites. If these tests are not conclusive, then you may need a colonoscopy to rule out a colon condition like colitis, ulcerative colitis etc.
Avatar n tn I was told before that they "think" that I have ulcerative colitis. I was put on medication. But after it stopped helping, I stopped taking it, and I was fine. Then just recently I have been feeling horrible. Stomach pain, mostly on the right lower region, gas, bloating, nausea, fatigue, and sometimes stabbing pain in my right lower abdomen. I am not pregnant ( that I know of, I have an IUD) And this has been going on for 3 weeks, non stop.

Avatar f tn I have GERT and a weak valve in my esophagus, so I am not well informed with knowledge on ulcerative colitis, however, I can give to you a government website that provides information on all digestive disorders /diseases from A to Z. Go to http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov. On the upcoming webpage, look for link on Digestion, and click. The next page lists the digestive disorders/diseases. Scroll down the list until you find UC.

Avatar n tn I think I have ulcerative Colitis. My stomach usually hurts and I have to go the bathroom frequently throughout the day. A lot of times I suffer from fecal incontinence where i will go back to the bathroom like a half hour after I eat and I will wipe and there will be something on the toilet paper. I do not know what to do. Also, sometimes when i look at my stool there is like a red flake or something, can that be blood? Can blood show up in the form of a flake.
277836 tn?1359666174 Could this be something else besides ulcerative colitis ? How sensitive is this test he had done (false positives) ?I am 33 years old. How bad is it relly going to get if I dont do his method of treatment?
Avatar n tn A related discussion, <a href="/posts/Gastroenterology/Fever-with-ulcerative-colitis-yes-it-happens/show/2080753">Fever with ulcerative colitis yes it happens</a> was started.
Avatar f tn Those are symptoms of ulcerative colitis and it doesn't have to hurt to be serious. You really need to get to the doctor and have this investigated.
