In looking elsewhere, I did see the following under possible side effects.

Thanks for the input! I just knew I wouldn't be alone when it came to reflux/PVC's. I'll keep looking for the study, I'd like to give it to my Cardio too.
He gets a kick out of me bringing him in newer studies about arrhythmia's like PVC's. He gets them too, but found that long hospital hours are what triggers his.

I've had occassional PVC's for 20 plus years. I also have Mitral Valve Prolaps. About 2 months ago I started taking Prilosec for reflux. I then began to have a huge increase in the number of PVC's. Sometimes lasting all day. I've been on an event monitor for the past 2 weeks. I didn't even think that to relate this increase in PVC's to the Prilosec until about a week ago.
ve had 3 docs prescribe prevacid and prilosec and one who said its bad to have any. I miscarried when I wasnt on anything and the babies I've had are all fine despite the prilosec. Some docs are more cautious. My doc now is a high risk ob/gyn with experience in fetal development issues and he says its fine. Talk to your doc or a different one...its not good to be so miserable you can't eat...for you or baby.
I have been having some GI issues for almost 2 months now and was first diagnosed with Gastritis. For the Gastritis I was given 15 days worth of Prilosec. While on the Prilosec (and before) I had diarrhea and loose stools every day. Being as I was having that before, I never attributed it to the Prilosec but now I'm questioning whether or not the Prilosec contributed to the loose bowel movements as I am now back on Prilosec and am having loose stools once again.
My doctor diagnosed me almost a year ago with "the worst case of acid reflux [she'd] ever seen." Literally, I would drink a glass of water and get reflux issues. I was put on Nexium for a long time, and I have since switched to Prilosec OTC because I ran out of health insurance. It's been about five days on Prilosec but I keep feeling nauseous in the morning after I take it, but it's nothing too bad and it goes away fairly quickly.
No spicy foods, not eating anyting real solid 3 to 4 hours before sleeping except maybe a popcile. Trying to lose weight and exercise and trying to lay off the caffeine and carbonated bevereges(which is extremly hard for me but Im doing it.) I havent been able to nail an actual flare up food, it seems I'm nausous off and on all the time.
ve continued to suffer from these attacks, along with the tachycardia, tachy is so scary and then when you top it off with a little anxiety attack,you know the "fight or flight" response, my heart rate is through the roof!!! I have learned to calm myself down, I get up,if I'm in bed, and walk around the house,get a drink of water,watch t.v...anything to take my mind off of the current situation...
t seem to help her and our GI switched her to prilosec. My daughter has had no complaints with the prilosec. Both prevacid and prilosec have the same actions so they do the same things. The only interaction that I know of with prevacid and penicillin is with a type of penicillin called Ampicillin and it may inhibit the absorption of the prevacid.
It seems when i have gas, or a bowel movement and sometimes if i eat a heavy meal i get brief periods of tachycardia and sometimes PVC's? anyone know about GI and heart?
I have had numerous studies done of which revealed GERD evidence found VIA EGD, Tachycardia with no cause found by EKG and Stress Echo, Englarged Pharangeus Muscle found VIA barrium swallow, Low Vit. D levels found by the rheum. I am constantly in pain and it is really effecting my emotional status and creating so much stress in my life. The only thing that i have found to improve it is alcohal, which seems to really improve all my symptoms.
Hi there! I really appreciate your help. I have not seen a urologist yet or any other specialist yet but know I am definitely going to have to see more than one. As far as for funny heartbeat, I do have svt but have not had a holter monitor since 2001. I want to see a cardiologist and a gastroenterologist for the things mentioned as I have not had testing yet. I was supposed to do the scope a couple years ago but the problem went away with Zantac.
pylori and now developed GERD and Acid Reflux because of the long term use of prilosec.. I cannot stop taking the prilosec because the acid and chest pain come back times a million, and i cant eat really anything anymore.. I did not have any problems with acid or chest pains or not being able to eat until i started taking the prilosec.. I really think that if i wasnt having any symptoms then why give someone some for symptoms there not having, just to make them worse in the end..
hi i am a 37 year old male. I have had a hiatal hernia for 17 years. I have also been dealing with panic attacks ever since. I can't smoke (which is good), I cant drink alcohol. I can't eat big meals. I can't eat much chocolate, coffee, caffeinated sodas, too much of anything that is a stimulant (pain meds, energy drinks, etc.). Lately, i had been smoking, it literally caused me a panic attack almost every time i finished one.
t eat before you go to bed and elevate the head of your bed such that you sleep slightly slanted. Weight loss and better eating habits are the only two things that will truly help you out. The prilosec, even though, it helps with the symptoms, will not fix the cause of the problem. Some people report palpitations with worsening GERD. This may be related to increased vagal tone associated with GERD. That could cause your heart to have a skipped beat. This is a normal heart response.
i am 32 years old just had my birthday and was out drinking a couple days before that my chest had a weird sensation,,then after a couple hard night of partying I haave anxiety, constant heart palpitations, Ive been listening to it and feeling my heart but it doesnt sound like its skipping beats but im really aware of it, dizzy and kinda short of breath..I also have gerd and have been on prilosec for 4 years.. should i be concerned or is this an anxiety disorder or side effect of prilosec??
