It is a swollen, inflamed nerve located between the bones mostly 2nd and 3rd spacing from the base of the great toe. It causes burning sharp pain on the foot bottom in the involved area which can radiate to the nearby toes. The pain is aggravated by walking or when the ball of the foot is squeezed.
MRI or Ultrasound is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Resting the foot, wearing good fitting shoes, anti inflammatory medicines and ice packs soothe the pain.

Ive been on prilosec for five years from gerd because of small hiatal hernia .. Ive drank while on it heavily here and there and never has really gave me any trouble..recently on my 32nd bday I over did drinking and within the next week felt weird heart discomfort..not pain nor pressure..but later in the week had trouble breathing,,strong heartbeat for days..anxiety, dizzyness..and trouble sleeping...Ive been working out the past week and Im feeling better.
It starts about middle of the inner groin and down upper thigh (and back of leg/buttocks). I realize this could be a muscular tear or joint dysfunction but have some real Health Anxiety of a swollen tonsillar node that my ENT is watching (enlarged and a little more firm, but have history of mono and chronic throat infections). I've developed two peptic ulcers (in the last month, endoscopy/biopsy showed no signs of H-pylori, just two peptic ulcers).
There are other products available for GERD (acid reflux) and if Prilosec is no longer effective your PCP may want to change the medication or in some cases increase it. But never increase a medication without your PCP approval. Please discuss it with him/her.

They sent me home with prescriptions for nausea and pain and told me to stay on 40 mgs of Prilosec. I am nauseous all the time and if I try to eat it's even worse. I eat a very healthy diet. No meat, dairy, bread products, fatty foods. I had a banana with a little plain rice last night and about a half hour later I was sick and in pain.I'm eliminating more and more foods because I can't really eat and it's not helping.
Weird stool colors (bright yellow, not to be graphic) Some stomach pain, breathing problems off and on (lik sortness of breath) and sinus problems (especially in my eaars )headaches even sometimes muscle spasms!!! the problem is that the symptoms are soooooo different and I don't have insurance to be tested!!! This has been happening for 7 months and I am so tired of all of it. I have literally cried myself to sleep MANY of nights.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
pylori and now developed GERD and Acid Reflux because of the long term use of prilosec.. I cannot stop taking the prilosec because the acid and chest pain come back times a million, and i cant eat really anything anymore.. I did not have any problems with acid or chest pains or not being able to eat until i started taking the prilosec.. I really think that if i wasnt having any symptoms then why give someone some for symptoms there not having, just to make them worse in the end..
Are you having leg pains and cramps? I really can't tell by your post. Does it hurt when you walk?
I hate taking meds too and avoid them at all costs if possible. If your pain or cramps persist, I would see another doctor and have an ultra-sound performed to rule out any internal problems.
The gastric problem, in my opinion, is an entirely different subject, and I don't think it would cause the leg pains, etc.
I recently stopped Pepcid due to dizziness and hallucinations, and found that it had also been the cause of unexplained itching and right leg pain (all subsided when I stopped the med). I have had chest pain on Nexium and zantac. Now that I am on the Prilosec, I am having shortness of breath, chest tightness, dizziness, and malaise. Is this serious? If I have H.
It appears that maybe the lack of nicotine has caused some change in your stomach.
Ten years ago, I developed a second ulcer, and I have taken one OTC Prilosec a day for 10 years with no problem. Why not try an experiment and take one Prilosec or Prevacid a day for 4 days to learn whether your heartburn has stopped? The stronger pill, Nexium, has just become available OTC and may deserve your consideration.
The doctor said stay on prilosec for 3 weeks and if I still had pain, go to a gastroenterologist. 4 weeks have passed and I am still in pain...3 times it has gotten so awful that I almost went to the emergency room. Currently, I am waiting for some sort of x-ray that has been scheduled by the gastro doc while stayin on prilosec and watching my diet....but I am getting no relief.
I've had occassional PVC's for 20 plus years. I also have Mitral Valve Prolaps. About 2 months ago I started taking Prilosec for reflux. I then began to have a huge increase in the number of PVC's. Sometimes lasting all day. I've been on an event monitor for the past 2 weeks. I didn't even think that to relate this increase in PVC's to the Prilosec until about a week ago.
ve had 3 docs prescribe prevacid and prilosec and one who said its bad to have any. I miscarried when I wasnt on anything and the babies I've had are all fine despite the prilosec. Some docs are more cautious. My doc now is a high risk ob/gyn with experience in fetal development issues and he says its fine. Talk to your doc or a different one...its not good to be so miserable you can't eat...for you or baby.
I have been having some GI issues for almost 2 months now and was first diagnosed with Gastritis. For the Gastritis I was given 15 days worth of Prilosec. While on the Prilosec (and before) I had diarrhea and loose stools every day. Being as I was having that before, I never attributed it to the Prilosec but now I'm questioning whether or not the Prilosec contributed to the loose bowel movements as I am now back on Prilosec and am having loose stools once again.
