she is highly susceptible to yeast infections also has reflux and hiatle hernia? How do you get this infection? Are there better medications than the one the doctor prescribed?
Hi, my doc put me on 14d Prevpac treatment today. I've been taking Prilosec during the past month or so to get my symptoms under control. It works quite well for me. I have never taken Prevacid before. Are these two the same thing? Can I use Prilosec to substitute the Prevacid in the pack? I'm scared of stopping Prilosec as my symptoms always get worse when I tried to wean myself off the drug in the past. I'm also horrified by the idea of combined antibiotics for extended time.
Hello! Is it recommended to take florastor while on Prevpac course? I just want to avoid the possibility of C.Diff. or any other problems pertaining to side effects of the antibiotics.
on 9th Day of Prevpac, I have noticed my pee sometimes get considerably yellow and foamy. After I pee there is a slight burn at the end of the urethra.. I am not sure if this is a uti or just symptoms effects of other things.
LANSOP/AMOX/CLARITHRO ORAL Other Brand Names: Prevpac Uses: This product is used to treat stomach/intestinal ulcers caused by the bacteria H. pylori and to prevent the ulcers from returning. Treating an ulcer reduces the risk of serious damage to the lining of the stomach/intestines (such as bleeding, tearing, blockage). Lansoprazole is known as a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by blocking acid production in the stomach. Decreasing excess stomach acid can help the ulcer heal.
Over the last 3 weeks, I've been dealing with stomach irritation/inflammation which has made it difficult to eat much because I become very full and my stomach gets distended whereby I feel breathless. My doctor says this is somewhat typical for people with h pylori.
Hello, I was recently diagnoised with H Pylori last week and began treament on Wednesday night with Prevpac, however, the Bioxin antibiotic was too much to handle and my doctor said to stop everything but prevacid on Saturday. I am away on vacation and have an appointment next week with a GI doctor, but I have extreme stomach pain, bloating, and green loose stools sometimes green diarrhea. Is there anything I can do to help the stomach discomfort? Can the prevacid cause this?
I have been diagnosed ( via endoscopy) with stomach inflammation and was also found to have H. Pylori. I finished Prevpac last week and am now on 40 mg Nexium. While my symptoms see to be going away slowly ( nausea and burning in my stomach, particualrly in the morning) I was wondering if anyone has experience on how long it will take until my stomach will heal. My primary care dr. believes that this was the result of stress gastritis from surgey for my neck in Jan.
I feel the antibiotic company is getting a good sum of money. Lots of human being are taken this Prevpac treatment. Accordingly to them it works but why it keeps coming back.
There is always the possibility that the bacteria is resistant to the Prevpac. Adjusting the antibiotic regimen can be considered if this is the case. These options can be discussed with your personal physician. Followup with your personal physician is essential. I just finished my two weeks of Prevpac, the best answer I found was sucking on cough drops. Believe me I tried everything. Don't be surprised to have that taste even a few days after you have finished the pills.
Dr. Pho, I went to internist / gastroenterologist a few weeks ago with my problem. Initially, based on what I've read, I suspected that I had candida overgrowth, but my doctor told me that candida overgrowth in the intestine is a myth. We did the following tests: - Breath test for some bacterias (was normal) - Blood test (not sure for what but came back normal. Do you know what this could be tested for?) - Breath test for h.
One thing I know is, after a person has to undergo lots of antibiotic therapy, those drugs kill both "good" and bad bacteria in the intestines, so while some people's natural gut flora returns to normal on its own, other people do better if they consume probiotics. Probiotics are "good" bacteria and they help break down waste. See, sometimes people will wind up with some constipation after antibiotics. I have not had H.
This would indicate that OT is a bacteria that specifically feeds on sugars and glucose. 3. PREVPAC which includes Amoxicillin, Biaxin and Prevacid has worked for quite a few but not all who've tried it. I believe that it is the Amoxicillin that works, especially for those who haven't had OT for an extended time. 4. Doxicycline appears to be an effective antibiotic that cures most OT sufferers who've tried it.

I was told that I had Gastritis and also tested positive for H.Pylori. I was given the PrevPac for 2 weeks. While taking the medication I experienced some side effects but nothing really bad. I finished the medication a week ago but I'm still not feeling any better. The back pain is what really has me annoyed. It's not an incapacitating pain but it seems to always be there to some extent.
Start taking the prevpac. It does not help the chest pain or gas. Early March: Have an upper GI series. Shows mild positional reflux, but otherwise normal. Mid March: Chest pains are still a problem. My doctor prescribes zantac which stops the chest pain. A few days after taking the zantac I begin to experience upper abdominal cramping and bloating. I also experience sharp pains under the middle of my breast bone when walking. Weight loss is apparent.
side, was then put on a Prevpac (lansoprazole, amoxillin, clarithromycin) 14 days I endured this medication, which made me feel better temporarly. Took it in as prescribed, changed my bad habits, and the pain, acidity still there. I bleed on and off, and feel now worse than where I started.
calanthamycin , i am having severe pain in epigastric region ,please help me out that what line of treatment i should go with to eradicate h.pylori infection? is there some other antibiotic sensitive to h.pylori, please help me out?
please i need advice... hugs beargio THIS IS JH MAY 2002 If you have been on the antibiotic treatemnt for H pylori, you may experience increased acid reflux, which is unfortunate side effect of the treatment. Your stomach adjust acid level with H pylori so that when the bug is erradicated, the acid level could shoot up resulting in more frequent hearburn. I went through the treatment myself about a year and seven months ago.

I would like to know if anyone has any experience on how long it takes for stomach ulcers ( or stomach irratation) to heal once the H. Pylori is erradicated. I finished PrevPAc one week ago and am now taking 40 mg of Nexium and 150 mg of Zantac at night. My main discomfort is in the morning, when the clenching and slight burning starts. My symptoms seem to be going down, but it seems ever so slow!! Any experience???
) was in the year 2001, when I was given clarithromycin for a throat infection, so this makes me suspect that my digestive problems are due to some infection. Unfortunately, as soon as I discontinued the antibiotic, all of my symptoms returned. I really couldn't believe the immediate relief I got from this antibiotic since the very first day. I could drink and eat anything without getting all my digestive problems.
I was prescribed the PrevPac because the MD said I had an ulcer. So I took 2 doses and then I vomitted and had diarrhea so I stopped taking it. They then switched me to amox prevacid and flagyl instead of biaxin. I am just wondering do I have to treat the H pylori. Would it be okay if I just took Prevacid. They only did a blood test and said it was positive. Don't all people have positive H pylori tests?
The recommendations of the doctor were that for the polyps I should go on a control in 3 months because if the polyp grow to 10mm they would prefer to remove my gallbladder and about the H. pylori I will have a 7 days triple antibiotic therapy (Omeprazole, Amoxicillin and Clarithromycin). In 8 weeks they want to make me a breath test to see if the bactery is gone. But in the last hours I have thought about many things and have some questions: 1. Is there any relation between the H.
That has (1) Prevacid 30 mg, some type of anti acid pill (1) Biaxin Filmtab 500mg, an antibiotic (2) Trimox 500 mg, another antibiotic, I have to thake these pills 2x daily. They are trying to treat the pain as like an ulcer. And if it an ulcer it has to be the size of Denmark. He said that there may be some ducts with a toxin in them.? Like I said I have had this pain for yrs. I never ever wish this on anyone, and I aslo get those cold sweats too.
The first time I only took prevacid and one antibiotic. This time I was given the Prevpac which has bactrim, amoxicillin and prevacid included. If anyone is prescribed this, ask the doctor to prescribe each medication separately because it cost me over $200 with my insurance.
BTW, taking antibiotics with a probiotic is helpful to help rid yourself ot the yeast and also reestablish your intestinal "good bacteria" depending on the bacteria you are fighting and the antibiotic and how broadly it works will depend on whether or how fast the probiotic organisms work. An adult should take a probiotic that is 10 billion organsims per colony forming unit (CFU).
