My 4-month old daughter has acid reflux. She was prescribed Prevacid three weeks ago as she was still irritable after 4-6 weeks of Zantac. After she started Prevacid she was less irritable but developed side-effects including giving up napping during the day and green, mucus-like foul smelling stool (started this week). Oh yeah, she also has a milk protein based sensitivity. My wife is still nursing but has given up all dairy and dairy-like foods.

The abdominal pain on my left and the right side has gone away but I still have like a burning/itch sensation going on. My stool has been yellow and loose during this time as well. I've also been burping a lot more too. I'm going to stop using the laxative and wanting to either choose Prevacid or Prilosec and not sure which is best.

I also have bad breath. I take Prevacid once a day for three years. I also take Lexapro. Even with prevacid, i still get heartburn some. I am a smoker and smoke about a pack a day. Can someone ease my mind a little about the stool thing? Or tell me some info?

i have had bright red blood in my stool for a few days now but very little to no pain, could it be from my taking prevacid?

I have been to see 4 different ENT doctors and 1 suggested LPR or silent reflux (when you look down my nose into my throat it does not present as LPR) - I have been taking 30 mg of Prevacid twice a day for 3 months to no benefit. When bilirubin within the stool travels through intestine, bacteria change its color first to yellow and then to brown. I some times see undigested food in my more solid stool but like I said my solid stool is brown and there is no yellow in it at all, until it is dirriea and even then it is just a fluid that comes with my brown soft stool.

Hello, I am being treated for an ulcer and am on Sucralfate (4 times a day) and Prevacid (30 mg a day). I am feeling so much better now, but my stools seem to be very very pale in comparison to what I feel is normal for me.
