prevacid upset stomach

Does anyone with anxiety suffer from stomach upset alot? I feel like someone with dumping syndrome all the sudden. It has gotten worse the last couple of weeks! Everytime i eat or think abnout something !!

I'm new to this forum and was wondering if someone might be able to tell me if abdominal pain, constipation and gas are side effects of PPI's. My neighbor is a doctor and prescribed me prevacid, I took them for 2 weeks, and began to notice these problems. I told him this and his response was "Prevacid does not have those side efffects." but when I search "Prevacid side effects" these symptoms show up on every page. ANy direction woudl be appreciated.

Update: last night I awoke to go to the bathroom and realized my stomach was really hurting. I had some of the bad hunger pains and then just a lot of pain on my right side and around to my back. Lots of grumbling too. First I thought maybe it was gas but eventually fell asleep. Today I still have the pain under my right rib, slightly upset stomach and back pain? Doctor is not in until Tuesday. Don't know what to do! This pain stinks!

I was first diagnosed with hyperthyroidism back in May 2004. I had a couple small nodules on one lobe of my thyroid. I was started on PTU (can't spell the full name LOL!) and responded very well to it. After a few months, the nodules had disappeared and my thyroid levels stabilized. In July of 2008 I was started on Amiodarone for my atrial fibrillation. Amiodarone has an iodine content to it and seems to have caused my thyroid levels to go up again.

I have taken prevacid off and on for years without any problem. When the stomach pain started, I thought it was caused by my adrenal insufficiency, since it is one of the symptoms. I have only been on the high dose for about 5 months--and I think the stomach pain started before that---but there is definitely a connection to it now. I had to raise my HC, was having symptoms that suggested my basline dose was too low.

Are you taking any add'l calcium during the day? Sometimes that can cause stomach issues. I find that I need to wait at least 45-60 minutes after I take my Synthroid in the AM before I can eat. If I eat sooner rather than later I get stomach pain. It's mild but it's there. I also had some reactions to the fillers/dyes in Synthroid. I take 75mg a day; now I take 1 50 mg and cut the other in 1/2. The 50 mg Synthroid is dye free and has less fillers.

Hello all I am so overwhelmed with GERD! Currently I am on Nexium twice a day plus Maalox and still have symtpoms. My throat and nose are burning. My stomach is upset and can't seem to eat anything! I have been reflux problems for about 4 years now and it has NEVER been this bad. Sometimes food seems to be stuck in my throat/chest. On top of all theses symptoms I am extremely tired and have joint pain.

Colon was fine, was diagnosed with Gastritis. Was given PrevPac, while taking that I had upset stomach in morning. But after vomiting one morning that went away. Started to feel good again. Then PrevPac ran out... Started to feel ill again. Now on Prevacid. I was 220 lb when this all started in Sept. It lingered at around 195 for awhile when I was feeling better. Now I am down to 188. Is this normal?

March 3 and my spasms are awful, feels like my stomach is a washing machine churning and my stomach is very upset, NEED TO FIND ANSWERS. A new recent issue is stiffness in my neck and my breastplate, not sure if this is all related. March 4----intense spasms continue. Chest is tight and somewhat nauseated. Also, have slight pain in groin and lower abdomen (under my belly). March 5----stomach is very “sour” had difficulty eating breakfast.

I took Prevacid at 1:30 this morning, Synthroid at 6:30, non fiber breakfast at 8:30 and now at 9:30 I am having terrific stomach discomfort . This will dissapate as the morning goes by but have not yet discovered what is causing the distress that I did not have before doing anything. Maybe it is the two cups of caffine???

Pain always in the same two spots. Worried about stomach cancer because it has gone untreated until now, for like 5 years.

In July i was having some swallowing problems or thought i was and they did an EGD and found nothing but a VERY tiny hiatal hernia. My stomach lining was nice and pink. I had been taking prevacid for two weeks prior to the EGD due to the trouble swallowing NOW i want to stop taking the prevacid and every time i try i get really sick. I get weak, nauseaus and for a day or two i literally go to the bathroom constantly and have loose yellow stools with stomach cramps.

After taking Prevacid, I gain my appetite back. The problem is, I have develope new symptoms after taking prevacid for 1 week. I am having very loose bowel movements, blood on the toliet paper when I wipe, indigestion, lower abdominal pain. Most importantly is I am having more frequent heartburn and chest pain, which I don't have when I am on the H2 blocker.

I take Zyrtec, Prevacid and Rhinocort Aqua (nasal spray). I hope this helps and you feel better.

In fact when I burp, I can feel the hot yucky gas coming up from my stomach. A recent google showed that prevacid can cause a side effect of halitosis. Other comments insist it is the GERD but I am not entirely convinced. In my opinion, neither one is new to me, but the halitosis is. HELP Please... . Our 7 month old wakes up every 90 minutes due to his silent reflux. The Axid and Prevacid both made his stomach upset worse. So now he's only on Nutramagin formula, rice cereal and fruit. The pediatrician says to make his formula extra thick. His little voice is hoarse all the time. He doesn't have colic. Our lil one is sooo happy until he goes down for a nap or night time sleep. Is there anything else out there? His upper GI was normal.

I just went to the doctor to get blood tests and make sure that my drinking has not already damaged my body beyond repair. My doctor gave me Prevacid for some stomach issues I have been Having. Does anyone know if it is safe to take it when I have been drinking? I am really trying to stop but I am having problems with the withdrawls so I am trying to wean myself off. Any one have any opinions? I would hate to do more damage when I ma trying to correct already done damage.

Now off hydro 5 days, taking prevacid again. I will deal with acid reflux and take my prevacid..Stress does make it flare up really bad...so just maybe I can get it back under control soon...

Back in February, I was diagnosed with stomach polyps caused by PPIs (Prevacid in my case). I have numerous polyps and have had 2 endoscopes with biopsies. Both times they came back benign. After doing quite a bit of research, I found that this is not uncommon at all. Also, there isn't a known case of these polyps turning into any form of cancer. In fact, my gastreonologist even went to the scientist at Prevacid. She isn't very concerned and just wants to keep an eye on them.

is it normal that my stomach feels so upset and like I have to throw up until I eat something then I feel back to normal?

I've been vomiting today but when I vomit its just like spit. What can I do or eat or drink ): ?
