my daughter uses the solutab, you cant really give a ton of water to an infant. you could ask the pharmacist. i think the tabs are easiest, just pop it in and they disolve.

That's what I have is the solutab Prevacid, but I don't know for sure if that is what amy0013 is talking about or not. It's Prevacid tablets that dissolve in water and I just give it to her with a dropper.

I have been taking Prilosec OTC and my Doctor prescribed Nexium. It seems to me that they are the same, with one being extremely cheaper. I am Beginning my fifth month of pregnancy and I would like to know if it is safe to continue taking prilosec otc.

I am taking tagamet otc- Walmart generic brand and for me it is better than the rx ones- But that's just me....

My daughter is 5 and a halfyears old and her doctor has been treating her for the past year with prevacid solutab 15mg daily, which at first relieved her symptoms after a couple of weeks until recently. She is a very active child, she enjoys tumbling and running and cheerleading. Lately she complains that her stomach hurts, she can't breathe and when she states that she tries to take a deep breath and she says "I can't Breathe".

m taking the right thing to fight it. Do mastic gum, DGL licorice, slippery elm, and OTC products like Prilosec or Prevacid, etc. cause loose stools? I'm prone to loose stools and don't want the problem to get worse. Thanks for any help and suggestions!

I was very restless and anxious and the warnings were to quit it immediately if I experienced those symptoms. So, my OB put me on Prilosec OTC this week----I have read pros and cons on line.....anyone else out there have an opinion?

Try the OTC prevacid that was just recently released. I used to be on prevacid when it was only available by prescription until my insurance company stopped covering it. I definitely am going to use the OTC version since the Prilosec my insurance co told me to use does absolutely nothing.

Yeah I have pretty much tried them all! Nothing seems to work. Today for example I took two prevacid, yet at 8:45 I am sitting here with acid in the back of my throat. I have tried all OTC stuff, prevacid, prilosec, and aciphex. I may give nexium a shot because that seems to work the best for some people.

As the title said, I am a 50 year old healthy female(with normal BMR). I used to have bad heartburn years ago, but was able to treat it with change in diet and prevacid. I actually haven't taken this medication for a few years. Then about a month ago, I started getting heartburn, along with nausea and vomiting. Soon, I also had bitter taste in my mouth. Yes this is fairly common during tx, check with you doctor about giving you either nexium, prevacid, or prilosec. All are safe to take, nexium and prevacid worked best for me. Congrats on being over halfway done. Wishing you the best.

I have acid reflux and ulcers so tums never helped. They said that prevacid is safe to take. Plus it is otc so no prescription needed.

Right now, I am taking Prevacid 30mg. My voice at times is hoarse, so I went to an ENT dr. and he sent me for a test to look into my throat, and I was told that I have swollen vocal cords, and the acid is still backing up. I took Prilosec OTC but it did not agree with me. I have rashes on my knees, elbows, back and my neck and back and head hurt, Is the Prevacid enough and could it be causing all these symptoms?

So why did they take Prevacid Packets off the shelf I ask .. grrrrrrrrrrr .. my co pay was $35/mo! It is helpful to have a quick melt or packet to mix for kids who aren't able to swallow a pill .. and the taste for an older child is awful if compounded (tastes like salt even with flavor bcz of the saccharine like products in it). Just was curious. I guess the other option are capsules of prevacid and open and sprinkle on something.

Hello. I have GERD and just received a prescription for Nexium (have been using OTC Prilosec but after using a couple weeks of samples found Nexium worked perfect for my symptoms). I have individual Carefirst but horrible prescription plan. I just purchased 30 Nexium at $160.00!
