Last night my stomach wasn't happy it felt slightly acidic but I didn't do anything different for it I figured the Prevacid would be enough. But this morning I get up I really didn't feel good I thought for sure I was going to toss my cookies so I took 2 Reglans ( 10mg total ) and waited before I took my usual morning pills and it has eased but my stomach still isn't happy and I'm borderline diarrhea. I hope it doesn't get worse I don't want to end up in the hospital again.
We TTCed for 1 year to no luck, off to the RE for unmonitored clomid and IUI (no luck), and then monitored clomid, trigger, IUI = wonderful son born Dec 08. He is the light of our lives and words cannot even begin to describe how much I love him and happy he's here. We always talked about having two. I'm an only child and HATED (still do) it. It's very lonley and now with my parents at the end of their lives, it's even more lonley to realize that's it. No other family.
You get a fast heartbeat when you have hyperthyroidism(Graves disease), but thanks for the advice. I decided to switch from the Prilosec to Prevacid yesterday, however I have experienced tremendous burning all day today and will be switching back to the Prilosec on this evening. At least I know it was working for me. I am going to cut back and only try 40 mg instead of 60mg because I don't like the side effects that I get from Prilosec, but I have no choice....
Fresh organic foods have natural enzymes that cooked and processed foods do not, so quality home-made foods are probably best for her for awhile. Have you tried slippery elm flour? It is very nourishing and healing for the bowels and may help. It is usually tolerated when other food is not. (This is not something to keep her on, but for healing the digestive tract).
and they all thought IBS, Menstruation, etc., and nobody thought GB!!!! She took Prevacid for the 3 days a month and since the surgery not even a hint of Prevacid and anxiously awaiting her next period if you know what I mean .. sort of a test of the gallbladder being gone now and is there a relation b/t the two!
the Ped GI feels most likely the reflux is from the constipation and pushing up and that the Prevacid may have added to the constipation!!!!! Most likely, it is a temporary lactose intolerance coupled with some IBS (constipation) bcz of a post-infectious reaction from a virus we all had in Feb even though it was only one day. But Dr.
On 9/4 I tripped overe one of my dogs and hit the back of my head on my tile floor. My next memory is vomiting in the kitchen trash. The next memory vomiting in the master bathroom trash on the other side of the house (I was also changed out of my work clothes). The next memory is my husbank slapping my face trying to arouse me from the den floor. My family said I looked gray. I had a wicked headache all over my head, double vision, lightheadedness, vertigo, and blacking out.
Thank you for that. It makes me feel a little better.
I was diagnosed w/IBS about 17 years ago and I probably have GERD (2 yrs), which i take Prevacid for. My IBS is pretty much under control. I take probiotics as well. I did recently run out of my marshmallow root but I only took one pill a day and never noticed any difference before when I'd miss a day or two. I read on here it could be gastroparesis...?? I also have been taking Allegra for about 1.5 weeks for a severe pain in my left ear. Could that med cause this? I burp a lot too.
nothing special, just a routine 3 month follow up. I've been on prevacid for 18 months and perhaps its time to come off of it. All my doctors seem to have me on a 3-4 month recall schedule except for my lovely PCP who wants to see me in 6 months unless I have problems.
I was on both Prevacid and Prilosec for months and months during a wierd and apparently medically inexplicable overproduction of acid (but not GERD) in my stomach that was, I was told, totally unconnected to the severe attack of hives I was experiencing simultaneously. Anyway, both P's meant the difference between eating or fasting, and between happily digesting a (lowfat and small) meal or rolling around on the floor in pain and ending up in the ER for pain relief. Ahh....

Maybe I won't get the side effects. I just pray I get by without the pain pills. What do y'all do for chronic pain?
Doctors did finally put me on Prevacid for the heartburn and some pain pill for the bad headaches. They said that both are so severe due to the high blood pressure. I just want her to cook a lot longer before she has to come on out.
im still hovering in the high 8's low 9's ...worth trying ..some people have dramatic results .. have you tried prilosec or prevacid for the burning.. i swear it helped me not have the burning bowels and my stomach was not so acidy .. it really made a difference for me..they have prescription strength too ..pepcid ac was not strong enough.. as your dr about it ... the burning got way better when i took it..
Conner was diagnosed with GERD and was put on Zantac and prevacid. He is doing much better, and has officially came off of the Prevacid and is only on Zantac now. He has also been teething for about a month now, drooling everywhere, and pooping nonstop lol. My husband and I have also been through the works. He quit taking his PTSD medications shortly after I had Conner, because they made him drowsy and he could not function to save his life.
I had a similaar thing on Monday night where I had been pvc free for a few weeks but something really upset my stomach which was gurgling away like mad and I had hours of terrible pvc's which kept me awake until 3'ish the next morning. My stomach is Ok again now and my pvc's have gone!
They put me on Prevacid which worked again, for about a year. The another doctor had to put me on some meds that rendered the Prevacid useless, and it never worked again. I still get the itch, it's not as bad as it often was, but it is still chronic, with only occasional time without it. And sometimes it is so bad and I cough so hard I get nauseous and even vomit at times. At those times my throat ends up sore. I use cough meds and ibuprofen overnight, sometimes a codein med.
At 2 he was referred to an allergist who tested him for allergies which all came back negative and he wrote a perscription for prevacid for acid reflux. This did help with the vomiting, but he still doesn't eat. He is now 3 years and 3 months and does not eat one single vegetable. He will nibble on fruit, but only a bite or two and not even daily. He will occasionally eat chicken nuggets, fish sticks, crackers, pretzels, waffles, pancakes, and dry cereal.
Visit to the ER produced no major results. How long is considered reasonable for stomach distress to go on after being treated for Giardia with Flagyl? Why do test results take so long for this? I still do not have the results.
If you are looking to get some help coming off Tramadol, this is a good place for you. People here are in all stages of beating this terrible drug. I know you can do it! I believe in you!
I gargle daily- I have had a Rhinascope and the ENT said I must have reflux too and put my on Nexxium and later added prevacid- both worked and I was 50% better for about 2 weeks and then nothing worked anymore. I gargle-rinse-drink- I have had an EGD when pills got stuck in my throat and the GI doc said he dilated a little but said nothing about reflux then ( 6 years ago) What I did find works a little is chewing a childs benedryl tablet 12.5 mg and sucking on a cough drop at the same time.
Or wearing her all the time except for a few short times for her to get tummy time or look at colors or a gym. Try that for a few days and see if it helps. She does not get startled when you walk into room when she firsts sees you even if you ar talking to her before does she? Just asking becasue Sophie had no signs of her hearing loss other then that. She would engage and watch and seemed to listen to me other times that I was in front of her.
The nurse suggested that maybe I shouldn't even drive myself home. My BP has been running low for about a month. I had stopped my heart meds for the angina (norvasc) a couple weeks ago to see if it would help, and it really hasn't. My cardio orderd labs - cbc, and a complete panel of everything else to check for anemia, sodium, electrolytes, etc. He ordered an echocardiogram - which they squeezed me in for on Tuesday.
I was told that it's new here but they've been using it in Europe for some time. I've been taking it for four days now. It hasn't stopped the hives completely but I'm giving it some time and praying every time I put one in my mouth. I should mention that those people who have been suffering with hives for months test positive for antibodies against their mast cells (mast cells release histamine).
Gave me a perscription for some acid reflux medication, which my insurance would not cover, so I was told to take Prevacid. I did, for several months, and it seemed to help a little. However I was still having terrible coughing fits, red watery eyes, bladder accidents and vomit from coughing so hard. Managable if I was at home, but usually I was out, and everyone asking if you are ok, while you are trying to hold back, just didn't work.
Two years later, I continued to complain that my stomach always felt full and that Prilosec (which I was taking because my insurance would not pay for Prevacid) was not working. He wrote a letter and switched me to Prevacid and told me that the pains I was having were "all in my head." I went to a new Gastroenterologist (A WONDERFUL PHYSICIAN) who sent me for a gastric emptying scan. I was found to have gastroparesis (my stomach only works at about 45% capacity).
I've read itching can be a side effect of all of those so i will eliminate one by one. I haven't taken the Prevacid for 2 days, so far still itching but maybe still in my system. I will wait 2 weeks and then stop the Atenolol. Luckily for me , these drugs are not necessity, I just get slight tachycardia without it. We cause alot of our own problems. I had microscopic blood in urine for a year and finally solved it..
