Prevacid dosage for toddler

Common Questions and Answers about Prevacid dosage for toddler

prevacid

Avatar n tn Is it safe to take 60mg of prevacid in the morning and 20 mg of prilosec in the evening?
Avatar f tn We've had him on Prevacid for almost a year. It used to be given to him twice a day. Now we only give it once, in the morning. We are afraid to eliminate milk or Pediasure entirely because he needs the calories. We have taken him off for a few days - but not seen improvement. In February, he had an endoscopy, and the Dr. said she took biopsies to look for allergies to milk or soy.
Avatar m tn I have been on Prevacid, 30 mg, twice daily, for about a month. It finally seemed to kick in after 4 weeks and I had 5 glorious days of no acid, or very little. I then reduced my dosage to one 30mg capsule daily. Within two days the GERD came back full force! Is it better to go back to two pills? Is it common that it would come back so strong? I'd rather take the two capsules again than have this! Ugh!
Avatar n tn Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.
Avatar n tn I have been on reflux meds for the past 5yrs and have had numerous side effects from hyperhydrosis, a tremor in my hand (which I was on propranolol for about 1yr 9mths for), and most recently a tic has developed in my eyelids. The hydrosis has finally went away (4.5yrs later) and the hand tremor is minimal but my eyelids are going nuts. I am assuming its the drugs for reflux (I am having surgery for that soon). Does anyone know of anything else that would be causing this?
547002 tn?1219797376 In July i was having some swallowing problems or thought i was and they did an EGD and found nothing but a VERY tiny hiatal hernia. My stomach lining was nice and pink. I had been taking prevacid for two weeks prior to the EGD due to the trouble swallowing NOW i want to stop taking the prevacid and every time i try i get really sick. I get weak, nauseaus and for a day or two i literally go to the bathroom constantly and have loose yellow stools with stomach cramps.
Avatar n tn thanks for getting back to me. I have been taking nexxium for almost nine months straight and prevacid now for about 3 weeks. it has helped some with the acid reflux part but not the bloating. i have cut back to 1 pill a day instead of two which I took for nine months straight.
Avatar f tn We still have to rule out eggs and shellfish. She is also on Prevacid daily. In the interim, meal times are a nightmare. She wants to try new foods, but licks them. She refuses to chew and swallow her food. She will stilll go for gerber food if I offer it to her, but will not eat anything that has texture in it. She has never eaten pancakes, toast, etc. Even oatmeal has to be runny - she gags on food that is thick.
Avatar f tn A week later I was going for blood work for my 6 month checkup. My tsh .40 (0.44-4.21) and t4 free 1.06 ( 0.60-1.40) I told her what was going on and especially that day I felt very hyper edgy. I said I have been on synthroid for 25 years and have never been below the normal range and asked her if lowering the lithium dose could have caused this and she said maybe. Then she asked me what I wanted to do. She felt the free t4 was within range. I then said reduce the dose to see if it helps.
Avatar f tn Thank you for answering!
Avatar f tn Yes nexium is ok to take, i hane cirrhosis and thats what my hepo ordered for me, he did switch me to prilosec only because its over the counter same as prevacid which is also ok.............
Avatar n tn her reflux. She also has allergies for which she takes Zyrtec and Nazonex for. Please tell me what is the next step in care?
Avatar n tn t noticed much with the mouth but i will now be paying close attention. I have taken Prilosec, Nexium, Aciphex, and Prevacid up to twice a day at the max dosage. I recently had an eye exam but the doc just said i had dry eye and would need glasses when I hit my 50's. Not real helpful.
Avatar f tn We have had him to the ER 3 weeks ago and they said its the flu. But..he is still doing this. I cant imagine a toddler having the flu for so long without any other symptoms! Last monday we took him to the doctor again and they said he was fine, and would outgrow it. They gave us the option of putting him on zantac which we have done. For the first few days he wans't getting sick at all, now he is back to getting sick 5 to 9 times a day again.
296025 tn?1233256719 WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PREVACID USE WITH HEP C? SINCE ITS EXPENSIVE IS THERE A GENERIC FORM?
1026267 tn?1257591273 Just happened to read your posts and the responses. I wondered if you have tried increasing your dose of Prevacid? Don't know what dosage you are taking, but I have had to take 20 mg of Prilosec for years. A year ago I went through some thyroid meds changes and went from very mild hypo to very hypo. All of a sudden acid reflux was very bad again. My doctor said it was fine to double my dosage of Prilosec and the problem was eliminated.
Avatar n tn i take prevacid for my gerd, can this cause atrial fibrillation This discussion is related to acid reflux.
290867 tn?1333569278 OMG I'm so excited for you!! This is where I'm going to refer to the experts at the reflux forum. I actually used zegerid (another PPI medication) with my daughter. I only know about solutabs from all the wonderful mommies on that board. Please please post on the other forum and ask for more specific help there. Laura (the moderator) has tons of information in her welcome links. Prevacid 101 is one that pops in my head.
Avatar f tn Hi. I take Prevacid, which is a little pricey, even with insurance. However, there is another one, Aciphex, which was about 30 dollars cheaper. I am back on the Prevacid as the Aciphex didn't work as well ( for me...I was on Prevacid for years and only switched because of the cost...65 dollars). You may want to ask about that. Also, I was told my pharmacist that otc prilosic works well too.
Avatar f tn Hello I have been taking zoloft for about 2 months then I had another anxiety episode so my doctor told me to go from 25mg to 50 mg anyhow since then my stomach is an absolute mess. I have heartburn I am constantly burping and I feel like my stomach is burning and it makes really strange sounds. Has this ever happened to anyone??? I'm just woried it might be stomach cancer or something!!! Please help. Thanks.
Avatar m tn After a couple of weeks I started having heart palpitations, sometimes for 9 straight hours. After decreasing my dosage back to 20 mg once daily, the palpitations stopped. The doctor now wants me to take Prevacid, but I am worried about the side effects. Anyone have a bad experience with Prevacid?
Avatar f tn having horrible lower back cramps, was up all night with what at first seemed like severe heartburn. I took my prescribed dosage of Prevacid. Vomiting on and off and constant nausea and gets worse anytime I drink or eat anything, even water or ice. Horrible sharp pains in my stomach the last time I tried drinking some ice water. I'm not sure what to do. I googled my symptoms and some came up with preclamsyia.
1448936 tn?1363206346 I've raised my head at night. I haven't tried prevacid or prilosec. My doc prescribed me zantac in august so I've continued using it. I may try one of those to see if I get any relief because the zantac really isn't working.
Avatar n tn Hi Lucy - I'm not able to comment on the dosage question, but I hope can offer you some comfort from my own story. When pregnant with my first child, at about six weeks my TSH was 12.6. My doctor adjusted my medication several times during pregnancy to where it was controlled around .4, but we didn't achieve this level until well into the second trimester. My son is now two and is an active, healthy, smart toddler.
