I'm about 17 weeks in and iI must say that this indigestion, acid reflux, and constipation is becoming unbearable! I've tried what I can to relieve these symptoms as best as possible, but man oh man is it annoying. Does anybody have any recommendations on how to alleviate severe acid reflux? I cannot consume a single thing without feeling it for hours. Chamomile helped for a minute and so did milk and the occasional apple, but none of those remedies seem to make a difference anymore.
I'm pretty scared.... I don't know what to think.

About a year now I have had very bad acid reflux and at times due to the damage it was causing, I had lots of trouble swallowing. Before I started taking prevacid ...I wasn't able to swallow ANY kind of food that had any kind of heat to it..and by heat I mean spicy, I don't mean temperature wise.
Im taking Prevacid and Propulsid for my stomach problems but everytime i eat my chest starts to hurt, why is that?
It depends on what medication he's on. My son who has Severe GER is on Reglan and Prevacid. They both cause constipation so if he's on those medications I would look them up and see if thats a side effect. As for the vommiting. Are you taking the precations for GER? Like sitting up during feedings, and 30 min after. Never lying him down. Burping every 1/2 an ounce and thickning formula? If so then I would definitly take him back to the G.I. doctor.
So I was taking a triple therapy treatment with consists of antibiotics. My doctor also prescribed Prevacid, which seemed to help. I stopped taking Prevacid because I was feeling better. Two weeks later I was vomiting, burping and had very watery stools. So it seems like I have to continue taking this Prevacid. Tomorrow I have an another appointment with my doctor. I want to discuss if I'm going to need taking this medication forever and if there are other alternatives.
If I were you I would try to go to a ENT or your primary care doc and ask for a prescription for nexium or prevacid or some kind of GERD medication. So many doctors have told me that symptom is because when you eat that it causes acid to come up in your throat and irrates the sinus lining causing excess mucus. I wish this was the problem with me, but I tried the prevacid for almost two weeks with no improvement.
Might be worth a try.
I am pretty certain that this terrible feeling in my stomach is not related to time a day or dosage of Prevacid. It is not a reflux/gerd situation. I have no other complaints or ill feelings.
It starts about an hour after taking my synthroid pill and is beginning to stay with me most of the day. Usually it is better after lunch but reoccured that night. This has only started 6 months after TT and beginning 137 mcg Synthroid
so not certain Synthoid can be blamed.
s ALL RELATED. Allergy can cause constipation. Constipation can cause reflux. Reflux can cause asthma. Perhaps a consultation with an Allergy/Asthma specialist might be warranted, following some bloodwork.
I have only been on it for a little over a month. It seems to be causing sever constipation and my GI doctor said I really don't need to be on it after an endoscope. I was going to switch to an H2 blocker and if absolutely need be Prilosec as I have not had that side effect with this drug. Anyone know if I can just stop or should I be opening the capsule and removing some granules and such?
my symptoms are weight loss, severe constipation, headaches, bloating, gas, and loss of appetite. Ive had and endoscopy, colonoscopy, cat scan, xray, multiple blood tests, allergy tests, diabetes test, fructose intolerance test, and stomach motility/emptying test and the doctors haven't found anything except lactose intolerance. I tried an IBS diet but that did nothing to alleviate my symptoms (it might have even made the worse especially the bloating).
t figure out why, the acid reflux is not staying down, popping Zantac and prevacid and barely eating. Now my throat hurts when I touch it, I have a sore throat and gi problems going on. Now having hot flashes at night, I am 41. Do you think that I could end up with cancer because the throat is hurting now? I also had to go to another hospital and found out I have a small hiatel hernia too.

Our 7 month old wakes up every 90 minutes due to his silent reflux. The Axid and Prevacid both made his stomach upset worse. So now he's only on Nutramagin formula, rice cereal and fruit. The pediatrician says to make his formula extra thick. His little voice is hoarse all the time. He doesn't have colic. Our lil one is sooo happy until he goes down for a nap or night time sleep.
Is there anything else out there? His upper GI was normal.
At that point my symptoms were pain/discomfort in the stomach with mucus in stool and what felt like constipation. I had an endoscopy/colonoscopy done. The endoscopy revealed an ulcer which had an h.pylori infection. I was given prevacid to treat it. The symptoms never went away. I was given another endoscopy 3-4 months later to confirm the ulcer was gone as was h.pylori. The endoscopy came back clean.
My daughter also takes pentasa and WAS taking prevacid. The prevacid didn't seem to help her and our GI switched her to prilosec. My daughter has had no complaints with the prilosec. Both prevacid and prilosec have the same actions so they do the same things. The only interaction that I know of with prevacid and penicillin is with a type of penicillin called Ampicillin and it may inhibit the absorption of the prevacid.

What I can tell you is that it may be related to something like crohn's, ulcerative colitis, etc. I personally have crohn's, and when it flairs up it hurts like hell. I think you may be on the right track, as these things do have to do with ulcers. Also the fact that you are experiencing constipation which you say is a first is also one of the symptoms to crohn's. I would suggest seeing a G.I. Dr and they may want to do a colonoscopy. Here is a link to research more on them.
Monday she vomited once and had diarrhea throughout the whole day. She has had constipation issues since she was a newborn. She has been on Miralax since she was three months old. I took her off Miralax about two months ago because I thought she was fine. When her physician performed an abdominal xray, he noticed that she had impacted stools inside her intestines (I apologize I do not the medical termonolgy). He believes that could be a cause of her symptoms, but I am not sure.
Thank you. That is just the tip of my problem. I have stomach issues that starts over a year ago. I had Gastritis and IBS-C. Been ON & OFF of meds (prazole, omeprazole, prazole plus) but the relief is just temporary. I constantly belch almost every waking hour, non stop even if i haven't eaten. I always had constipation. I had occasional blood in my stool. My stomach growls and i feel bloated all the time.
(My Question is) Are the other people affected taking Prevacid, and Lisinopril. I am wondering if there is a corilation.I want to know that if this mix causes constipation and then heart problems. I believe it does. Some one that is qualified please answer this question.
I am having a problem with taking my Prevacid 4 hrs. after Synthroid. Right now my routine is to take Synthroid when I first get up and 6 AM. an hour later eat something void of fiber (usually egg sub.) The 4 hrs. later I take the Prevacid and have another small meal (cereal usually). The problem is something is causing a bad taste to come back in to my mouth sometime after all this and I am thinking it is because the Prevacid really is not being taken prior to eating.
I just went to the doctor to get blood tests and make sure that my drinking has not already damaged my body beyond repair. My doctor gave me Prevacid for some stomach issues I have been Having. Does anyone know if it is safe to take it when I have been drinking? I am really trying to stop but I am having problems with the withdrawls so I am trying to wean myself off. Any one have any opinions? I would hate to do more damage when I ma trying to correct already done damage.
