My 19month old has been having vomiting spells for about two months now and i don't know why. It usually only takes place at night after he drinks something. At first i thought maybe he was drinking too much and maybe too fast but even drinking half a cup slowly makes him have projectile vomiting spells.
I stopped taking Prevacid because I was feeling better. Two weeks later I was vomiting, burping and had very watery stools. So it seems like I have to continue taking this Prevacid. Tomorrow I have an another appointment with my doctor. I want to discuss if I'm going to need taking this medication forever and if there are other alternatives. BTW, I'm female and 44....not sure if age or gender has anything to do with this "disease".
Within an hour of vomiting I was on the floor with excrusiating pain in my stomach and still vomiting although it was way more extreme. So extreme that I broke a blood vessel in my eye. This was 3 months ago. Since then I have had constant pain in my stomach and asophagus. I have been to the emergency room 3 times. Prescribed Prevacid, Nexium, and something for nausea as the doc thought it was GERD or severe acid reflux.. Nothing helps. I had a blood test for H.Pylori and it came back negative.

Then about a month ago, I started getting heartburn, along with nausea and vomiting. Soon, I also had bitter taste in my mouth. I got prescription for prevacid again from my doc, and I also tried OTC meds(tums, etc), but none of them worked. In fact, the symptoms are getting worse. (I am being very careful with my diet currently. No fatty, spicy food.. small meals..
Yes, panic attacks, vomiting and hernias seem to go hand in hand. I am 33 now and have been getting panic attacks since I was in primary school. but when you're a child, what do you know? All I knew was that I constantly thoughts I was dying, or terribly ill with some kind of disease. I was only diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder when I had a depressive episode that landed me in hospital and getting in touch with a really good Psychiatrist.

The doctor put him on prevacid and thought that acid reflex could have inflammed the entire GI tract leading to bowels to stop, creating an infection occurring in high fever. However, the symptoms have started to occur once again but with less frequency slowly happening more often. We are going to see GI specialist in 2 days but just wondering if anyone else has had similar symptoms or ideas of what to check for.

At 12 months we took him off Prevacid ( the only thing that stopped the vomiting) and he was fine up until the past few months. He contracted Rotavirus back in March where he was admitted into the hospital for dehydration. He was back to normal in a week. Then a month and a half later out of no where, he starts screaming and holding his belly and then vomits once and has diarrhea once. Then he was fine again.
My daughter also takes pentasa and WAS taking prevacid. The prevacid didn't seem to help her and our GI switched her to prilosec. My daughter has had no complaints with the prilosec. Both prevacid and prilosec have the same actions so they do the same things. The only interaction that I know of with prevacid and penicillin is with a type of penicillin called Ampicillin and it may inhibit the absorption of the prevacid.
having horrible lower back cramps, was up all night with what at first seemed like severe heartburn. I took my prescribed dosage of Prevacid. Vomiting on and off and constant nausea and gets worse anytime I drink or eat anything, even water or ice. Horrible sharp pains in my stomach the last time I tried drinking some ice water. I'm not sure what to do. I googled my symptoms and some came up with preclamsyia.

My child has been vomiting for 4 weeks. She is 14 years old. She is under the care of a specialist and has had the following tests: endoscopy with biopsy, MRI of head, UGI with upper bowel follow through. She is going to have a stool test this week , possibly followed up with a colonoscopy. If these don't show anything she'll be referred to a neurologist.
Three days ago vomiting occurred about 12 times in an hour and a half period on a fairly empty stomache, no fever or sore throat,resulting in ER treatment of rehydration and prescription for zofran. Vomiting attacks are severe, and with little warning. Her eyes darken underneath and she is completely enervated during attacks.Abdominal pain rated at 6 out of 10, intermittent.
I have consulted may doctors and currently take lansoprazole (Prevacid). The vomiting and nausea continues no matter what I eat, how much, or how little.
I honestly have no idea what to do anymore. I'm considering an endoscopy but do not really want to go through that if it is not necessary - which I do not believe it is.
Any idea what this may be? Blood results show that everything is normal.
said my daughter had not outgrown reflux and needed to be on prevacid and see a ped. Gastroenterologist. He did a scope on her esaphagus and showed no permanent damage but did find a hiatal hernia. We changed her diet and the doctor put her on 15 mg prevacid. It was a miracle - she stopped complaining of: stomach aches, never able to clear throat, vomiting in night, always felt like something in chest, etc...

After my initial post I had additional symptoms (vomiting bile and vomiting blood). My family doc put me on 60 mg of prevacid and prescribed reglan - which I haven't yet tried because I'm not that convinced of her expertise or the "guess" that it was a motility problem. She did help me in the most important way, however, by referring me to a specialist. I have an endoscopy scheduled for next week.
i also havent tried prevacid, and stopped prilosec and zofran (antivomiting medicine) over the last 2 days.
Woke up lips swollen and had what I thought was a stomach bug. Vomiting, diahrea, tired. Spent about 3 days in bathroom and bed. Thought it was over but it was just starting. From that day till now I have had constant nausea and vomiting. Sometimes I have a few minutes, or a day or so with no symptoms, but vary rarely. It doesnt seem to be connected to eating, food allergies, there is no rhyme or reason that I can pinpoint.
