I've had occassional PVC's for 20 plus years. I also have Mitral Valve Prolaps. About 2 months ago I started taking Prilosec for reflux. I then began to have a huge increase in the number of PVC's. Sometimes lasting all day. I've been on an event monitor for the past 2 weeks. I didn't even think that to relate this increase in PVC's to the Prilosec until about a week ago.
Im 29 weeks+3d n ive been havin acid reflux at night really bad for a week now... im having it now :( what are things to help this???
I have actually been on some form of reflux med for a bit longer than 5yrs and started with Prilosec OTC, then prescription Prilosec, Nexium, Aciphex, and briefly Prevacid. These days I tend to take whatever I have in my medicine cabinet (Aciphex or Prevacid) twice a day, max dosage, and occasionally a tagamet to help out. I have a hiatial hernia that is going to be fixed soon so I am hoping to get off the meds and that the side effects will eventually go away...I hope.

I have eosinophilic esophagitis, and I have had severe reflux for 22 years. I have fought taking PPis over the years but when I developed the EE, I had to go on high dose prevacid---30 mgs, 2x daily. I wake up some mornings with stabbing pain in my gut with the first deep breath that I take.
I experimented recently afte wakin gup in pain, and didn't ake the prevacid that night. i woke up with no pain in my gut.
Has anyone else had a PPI cause them stomach pain?
Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.
What are the chances of getting Esophageal cancer after a clear endoscopy 38 months ago, with only a few bouts of reflux since? H. Pylori was negative on biopsy. The only thing on the report of concern to me was "antral gastritis and duodenitis."

I have the worst acid reflux. I've had it my whole pregnancy and it *****. Also this after taste after eating ***** too. Did anyone do anything to ease the two?
I have PAC's which originate in the atrium just like a-fib. When I was trying to get diagnosed with all of my palps, I was having severe nausea and overall sickness 3-4 days a week. I was sent to a gastroenterologist and I was found to have severe acid reflux with Barrett's Esophagus. I was put on Prevacid 30 mg and have been on it ever since. That was 12 years ago ( I was 26 at the time). Over that time, I have accidentally forgotten to take the Prevacid twice.
said my daughter had not outgrown reflux and needed to be on prevacid and see a ped. Gastroenterologist. He did a scope on her esaphagus and showed no permanent damage but did find a hiatal hernia. We changed her diet and the doctor put her on 15 mg prevacid. It was a miracle - she stopped complaining of: stomach aches, never able to clear throat, vomiting in night, always felt like something in chest, etc...
I had a Barium Swallow, and reflux was found, but no hiatal hernia was found. She prescribed Prevacid, which I have been taking for several months now, and said I should take a Pepcid AC before exercise.
This method has been working much better than anything tried before. But I feel like I am completely dependent on the Pepcid for relief (as it gives me far more relief than my rescue inhaler). I'm not sure how much is too much of the Pepcid.
I was taking a prescription (omeprazole) to control my severe reflux(GERD) before I found out I was pregnant. My primary doctor suggested I stop taking it until my first appt with OB( 1/27) to see what she suggests. My reflux is severe and I don't want to keep taking Pepcid and tums like crazy. Has anyone else had this before pregnancy and what were you given to take that was safe?
t been feeling that great and the doc prescribed Prevacid at 30mg twice a day along with 1g of Amoxil and Biaxin. My H. Pylori test came back negative so I could stop the Amoxil and Biaxin. It might take a while but he tells me it will work.
On the other hand, a friend of mine had severe reflux and the doc prescribed Protonix. It worked so well that they were able to get off of it and only use it when they feel a flare up coming on (every couple months).
my son is also 18 mo and has severe reflux. he was diagnosed with epilepsy at 3 weeks of age. he is on keppra and phenobarb, but has also been on prevacid 2x day for the reflux for the last 5 mo. he eats 2nd foods still basically because he has sensory issues. the reflux has defitnately taken its course. my son wont take in the calories that he is supposed to take in. i can try to make him but it normally will make him throw it back up. he only weighs 18 lbs, which is ok .
HI, I am a 27 year old female who was diagnosed with gastroparesis and gerd in 2007. I have been on 30mg of Prevacid daily for almost 4 years now and just recently have been having terrible symptoms again with gerd. I saw my GI specialist and he recommended I start taking reglan again because the gastroparesis might be causing the reflux.
How do we prevent acid reflux which occur maybe once Or twice a month especially after eating the wroong food .
