after taking these i went to see a gi doctor who had helped me in the past with a similar issue and he said keep taking nexxium and prevacid and it would probably go away. well it has been almost 10 mo. now and it has not gone away. i eat low fat, no spices, no acid food and eat plenty of wheat product which i thought helped with digestion. is there a natural product that can help break downs foods so they are not just sitting there rotting?
As the title said, I am a 50 year old healthy female(with normal BMR).
I used to have bad heartburn years ago, but was able to treat it with change in diet and prevacid. I actually haven't taken this medication for a few years. Then about a month ago, I started getting heartburn, along with nausea and vomiting. Soon, I also had bitter taste in my mouth. I got prescription for prevacid again from my doc, and I also tried OTC meds(tums, etc), but none of them worked.
My daughter also takes pentasa and WAS taking prevacid. The prevacid didn't seem to help her and our GI switched her to prilosec. My daughter has had no complaints with the prilosec. Both prevacid and prilosec have the same actions so they do the same things. The only interaction that I know of with prevacid and penicillin is with a type of penicillin called Ampicillin and it may inhibit the absorption of the prevacid.
I had h pylori twice, and the antibiotics really destroyed me. I am now taking Prevacid in very high doses. Before you try to eliminate this h pylori again read about if you really need to. Also, I think that urea test was done way too soon after the first time!

I discovered I have a hiatus sliding hernia and gerd/acid reflux. Had endoscopy less than a year ago. On prevacid 60 mil. still symptomatic. Burping gas- regurgitation etc. My question is ...recently- I began having pressure to have a bm while eating? even after going. feels like I never went.. I'm having intestinal sounds and rumbling all the time and will have 2 or 3 bms a day. They have been softer but normal no bleeding....no weight loss other than 3 pounds at the docs office last week.

I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and have finished my course of antibiotics, however I'm still on Prevacid. I developed a rash on my forehead about two days into treatment, and it's still there. I thought at first it was the Amoxicillin, but I finished that about a week ago, and the rash is still there. Could the rash be from Prevacid?
They helped when I was taking Prevacid for a couple weeks to treat the acid reflux but when I did not ingest I would get incredible stomach pain (my stomach was relying on the probiotics and not my own natural stomach digestive enzymes). So I only use them on occassion. Defecate when you feel the urge, DO NOT HOLD IN as that causes constipation.
That is interesting because I was taking Prevacid and also noticed an increase in PAC's. Its still to early for me to tell if that was the culprit because my Palps have a mind of their own and can last as long as a week at times. For now though I have stopped the Prevacid to see if that helps. I also take fish oil which I've heard can help palps but I've also read that they can worsen them, who knows? Keep us posted!
I am currently seeing a regular doc and an ENT (I can't see a Gastroenterologist because only certain docs take the type of assistance I am on I have no insurance) . Recently I began having trouble swallowing, like there is a lump in my throat. My regular doctor says "globulus hystericus" from anxiety, however Xanax and Prozac has not made this go away. My ENT says "reflux" and put me on Prevacid which I've been on for two weeks now.
I took Prilosec and Prevacid, both of which seemed to work for about 3-4 days and then symptoms came back. My gastro had me take Probitoics which didn't seem to work. The pain still remained and even became sharper at times. The pain is in m upper abdomen, just below my ribs. I got a colonoscopy and endoscopy. All they found was mild gastritis in my duodendum. All this time, I was not throwing up or having diarrhea, but my bowel movements were much more looser and less solid.
I had a Barium Swallow, and reflux was found, but no hiatal hernia was found. She prescribed Prevacid, which I have been taking for several months now, and said I should take a Pepcid AC before exercise.
This method has been working much better than anything tried before. But I feel like I am completely dependent on the Pepcid for relief (as it gives me far more relief than my rescue inhaler). I'm not sure how much is too much of the Pepcid.
I am 35 weeks pregnant and I just fought a urethritis and cervicitis with antibiotics about 2 weeks ago. I can feel like I still have symptoms of an infection because of the smell and color fluids (yellow or light brown)coming out of my vagina. I was wondering if it would be safe for me to use Femina Flora vaginal inserts in form of capsules. It's a dose of probiotics that I thought might help me restore the flora in my vagina and help with any possible candida growth...
They symptoms of bacterial infection ( urge to frequently urinate and unable to pass adequate urine, dribbling, burning and itching) had vanished after I took Niftran, Dio-1 and Fole 150 but now they seem to have appeared again. I constantly feel the urge to urinate but could pass only a little and I tend to dribble too. Its usually wet/leaky near and inside vagina.
