Hello, My daughter had the samething and ended up with Reflux Disease and the specialist put her on prevacid and I had to switch her to Enfamil Nutramigen. The Enfamil Nurtramigen with a combination of prevacid worked excellent.

My daughter also takes pentasa and WAS taking prevacid. The prevacid didn't seem to help her and our GI switched her to prilosec. My daughter has had no complaints with the prilosec. Both prevacid and prilosec have the same actions so they do the same things. The only interaction that I know of with prevacid and penicillin is with a type of penicillin called Ampicillin and it may inhibit the absorption of the prevacid.

Next I have a very very slow digestive system I have GERD take prevacid 30mg twice a day..

Prevacid is a Protein Pump Inhibitor (PPI) like Aciphex, Nexium and Prilosec. It's indicated for GERD (chronic acid reflux) and as far as I know has nothing to do with treating Hep C, other than if you happen to have GERD. I believe Prilosec is a generic sold OTC but not 100% sure so speak to your doctor and pharmacist regarding switching off.

In July i was having some swallowing problems or thought i was and they did an EGD and found nothing but a VERY tiny hiatal hernia. My stomach lining was nice and pink. I had been taking prevacid for two weeks prior to the EGD due to the trouble swallowing NOW i want to stop taking the prevacid and every time i try i get really sick. I get weak, nauseaus and for a day or two i literally go to the bathroom constantly and have loose yellow stools with stomach cramps.

Her pcp did stool samples (-), a U/a (-), and bloodwork (normal except slightly inc. SED rate-23). He referred to GI who rec. Prevacid 15 mg 2x/day and follow-up in 2 months. He said ulcer can't be r/o w/o scope which he will do if not better, but that Prevacid should help. My instincts tell me it's not a GI thing. I asked about low blood sugar since snacking sometimes helps. Both drs said hypoglycemia is over-dx'd and treated, and didn't think this was her issue.

I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and have finished my course of antibiotics, however I'm still on Prevacid. I developed a rash on my forehead about two days into treatment, and it's still there. I thought at first it was the Amoxicillin, but I finished that about a week ago, and the rash is still there. Could the rash be from Prevacid?

Is it safe to take 60mg of prevacid in the morning and 20 mg of prilosec in the evening?

Saw GI MD 3 days ago who put me on prevacid 30mg 2x a day and pepcid 40mg at bed time for 6 weeks. Does this sound reasonable? I get concerned re the medications and side effects. Would there be any by taking both? I am also on aspirin, lipitor and synthroid.

That is interesting because I was taking Prevacid and also noticed an increase in PAC's. Its still to early for me to tell if that was the culprit because my Palps have a mind of their own and can last as long as a week at times. For now though I have stopped the Prevacid to see if that helps. I also take fish oil which I've heard can help palps but I've also read that they can worsen them, who knows? Keep us posted!

t remember where I saw this because I was popping all over the place but try googling Crohns and Diabetes and see what comes up. I think it's because they're both autoimmune diseases? It's interesting because I was recently diagnosed with Crohns and nobody else in my family has it but I do have a lot of diabetes in my family. I think they still don't know what exactly causes it but you can go to ccfa.

I had a Barium Swallow, and reflux was found, but no hiatal hernia was found. She prescribed Prevacid, which I have been taking for several months now, and said I should take a Pepcid AC before exercise. This method has been working much better than anything tried before. But I feel like I am completely dependent on the Pepcid for relief (as it gives me far more relief than my rescue inhaler). I'm not sure how much is too much of the Pepcid.

HI, I am a 27 year old female who was diagnosed with gastroparesis and gerd in 2007. I have been on 30mg of Prevacid daily for almost 4 years now and just recently have been having terrible symptoms again with gerd. I saw my GI specialist and he recommended I start taking reglan again because the gastroparesis might be causing the reflux.

I take Prevacid and my family doc says it quiets the vagus nerve. Avoid spicy foods, try to have regular bm's. Maybe a stool softener would help or anything that keeps things moving. Anything that affects my digestive system affects my heart and produces irregular beats.

Is a tender stomach normal with a peptic ulcer? My entire stomach area, from just below my breasts, down to my navel, is very tender to the touch. When touched it produces like a burning/stinging/bruised feeling. Depending on the day, or time of the day, the pain is greater or less.

(i had two different doctor check up before having all the test) and when im dont on my 14 days drinking prevacid its never been severe and not everyday pain. so i decided not to go back.. after 3 weeks i have all the pain again... especially if i eat something like coffee or tea. and i try to drink prevacid to help the pain and it work out after 30 minutes. i would like to know what the best thing to do and what are the food i should be concious of eating..

ve never tried Domperidone, but the only meds that helped me were Nexium or Kapidex taken twice daily. I tried prevacid and it was very brief because it just didn't work for me :( Also, I use to take one Kapidex/Nexium PLUS some Amitriplyn, but I knocked the amitriplyn out of my regimen. Either way, it offered more good days then bad.

Hi Head ache is one of the commonly reported side effect of PPIs. Rashes can also occur. Yes ma'am, I'm 32 weeks and 2 days and as time goes on it gets worse. Heart burn I can handle but the acid reflux is getting out of hand I can't sleep eat or drink because it hurts so bad. I feel like my food gets stuck in my chest and I can't get it down. It ***** and I'm so over it.

Also developed sharp shooting pain upper Left back and sometimes in LUQ. Went to emergency room and had CT of ABD/Pelvis with contrast. Normal. I am terrified I have Pancreatic Cancer. Is this possible I am 53 year old female. Told by 1 MD I have psoriatic arthritis I think I have Fibromyalgia.

t a lot of room with everything pushing up. I take Prevacid 30 mg. in the morning and it seems to quiet things down. The last time I was having problems, I had gone off the Prevacid. I don't know if it's okay during pregnancy, but it might be worth discussing with your doctor. Good luck.
